The house at 1 Tesla Court in Strangetown, owned by Circe and Loki Sims, had
a one room basement. I decided to expand the basement by adding on several other rooms. I had to use the "moveobjects on" in order to place the bathtubs, stairs, and other objects. The problem I have is that the computer will not let me tell the Sims to walk to any part of the expanded basement. I move a Sim myself, put one next to a bathtub, and tell the Sim to bathe. The Sim walks up the stairs and stands outside by the side of the house that is closest to the bathtub. Then the Sim complains that it cannot reach the tub, because its path is blocked. The Sims react the same way to any object I ask them to use in the new part of the basement. They can do everything normal in the original room of the basement. It is just the new expanded part that is giving me trouble. They also seem unable to get in, but if I place them there they have no trouble getting out. I used a cheat in order to place the stairs. The Sims have no trouble using those stairs. If there is a solution to this problem I would appreciate knowing it. Thank you.

Could you perhaps post a screenshot of the part of your basement they cannot use? I'm thinking it's most likely to be something to do with ceiling height- a picture could help us!

Thank your for responding. I don't think height is a problem, because the ceiling is higher than them. I will send a picture. I hope I do it right since this is the first time I have posted a Sims picture on any website. In this picture I told him to take a bath. He is responding in frustration that something is in the way.

Try placing the bath again- make sure you have objects snapped to grid. Also, is that a window on the wall? Maybe try it with the window removed? Make sure that everything in the room is placed with moveobjects off also.

Thank you for your help, but I found the problem. I had to go to the main floor and delete the entire foundation. I was unaware that the computer fails to acknowledge anything built under the foundation. This house came with the game so I did not realize it had a foundation. I normally do not build my houses with foundations. The Sims are acting normal now and are using the items in the basement properly. Again thank you for your reply.
