I have a painting that I have placed into the game but its still coming up as a recolour, I have simPE 0.60 but even though I have selected it to make it a seperate object rather than just recolour its still coming up as a recolour to "A Stroke". I have even tried without the tick in create a stand alone object. Anyone know how I can make the picture a stand alone pic?

I opened up photostudio aswell to see if I could do it there but no images load up with it.

You need to give the clone a new GUID(s) and update the MMATs accordingly. More information for cloning objects you can find in JWoods' start to finish object tutorial in the tutorial section.

There is no other way to make a clone that works properly. If you want a clone that doesn't replace any original object and has its own color options it needs its own GUID and its MMATs updated.

Ok, I got "0x7F5C695E" from Group under the name reference editor, is that the GUID that I need to put into Material Override (MMAT) ? its original one in that MMAT says "0x4F88D37B"

I really recommend you follow the GUID part of this (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=104795) tutorial, it explains you everything you need to know about it.

If anyone else is interested, there's also a short and simple tutorial on registering a GUID @ the SimPE site: http://simpeforum.ambertation.de/sims2/Register-with-the-GUID-Database

That guide talks about the basics of acquiring a GUID, but it does not include the information about updating MMATs, which needs to be done with the main GUID of the objects to have working recolors.
