View Full Version : Help with a wide door

I need help with a door I'm creating.

I've cloned it from the 2-tile Colonial Tract Door, but I've removed the sidelights leaving a door that is much wider than the original Colonial Tract Door.

I'm guessing that I'd either have to move the rotation so that it corresponds to the edge of my wider door or I'll have to align my new door with the edge of the original door in my 3D program, and then manually adjust the positioning of the door in the CRES.

I'm entirely unsure and don't know how to do either :|

Please, upload your object package to take a look at, otherwise it's hard to give detailed instructions :).

Yes it requires moving the rotation point along the x axis. I had this with my inset doors, which needed a y shift. I can't quite remember now whether I found it best to move from as high up the chain as possible or as deep down, unfortunately.

Edit: I figured this one out on my own.

In case anyone else runs into a similar problem, editing the X Translation value for the r_door_rot joint seemed to fix the problem (at least for this particular door--names may be different in other packages).

I also had to re-align my door mesh to the back edge of the original Maxis door rather than its center.
