View Full Version : Making Unrecolorable Objects Recolorable, and Stuff...

I've got a couple of questions that all relate to my current project. I'm 'cleaning up' the buy mode catalog. I'm moving things from categories to other ones that made more sense to me. I've found that when I place these edited OBJD files in the Bins folder that any of the objects that came with EPs will accept being moved, but things that came with Stuff Packs are being a little more obstinet. All objects move when placed in my Downloads folder, but then they get the CC Star of Shame on them. Any idea where (or why) the Stuff Pack objects can be placed so they will quietly go to where I want them to?

The next task is to regroup recolors together. I have two problems with this. Some of the objects that are just recolors of each other, like the FreeTime EA Sports rugs are not recolorable. I've tried to make them recolorable, but they don't have the tsDesignEnabled thing in their Block List, they also don't have the ability to add it to the Block List. How do I fix this? After I've successfully regrouped the like meshes together, I'll have leftover, now duplicated, things in my catalog, how do I hide these? I tried looking up something that wasn't in the catalog, but the number on the Raw Data Catalog Sort didn't make any sense to me.

Any help? (thanks!)

Numenor? You seem to be one of the ones who knows how to make things recolorable, any help here? Jasana answered my question on how to hide left over things : hits hand to forehead : just change the catalog placement to nothing so it won't show up.

I've finally found a place that the StuffPack mover mods can use!! The STUFF PACK FOLDER!!!! GAH! 'This "WELL, DUH" moment, bought to you by yours truly, Phaenoh'

I'm no Numenor or modders in the field,
but this may be where you can find useful infos.

niol...the only thing that the link you mentioned doesn't tell you is how to add a new MMAT to the package if it has none to clone from. So once you get to the part where it tells you to clone an existing MMAT your stuck and can't go further unless you know how to do it. This is not an easy feat to figure out if your new to making an object recolorable.

If there's no MMAT in current package, you can always extract it from other package, and import into current one :) Surely, you'll have to do more work in such case - like, fixing cres name and subset name.

And updating the GUID - that was what I forgot....the rest pretty much follows that tutorial...new hash and naming...I also changed my instance number (mine was 6000 and all the ones I had seen previously started at 5000 - dunno if that makes a difference)

Well, suddenly my help thread got popular fast. Ok, everybody I'll give it another go around.

Also, nother question. How do you recolor a painting that isn't in PhotoStudio? When I go through object workshop and just go through the process to recolor an object with a painting I end up with an empty package.

hey Phae....is the painting one from Freetime? Also, before you go giving it a go on the rugs and things, Numenor has the new CEP out - some of those may be recolorable now.
