Wacky Friend Count

Ever since I got BV, I've noticed that one sim in the family has 14 friends, but under employment, all I see are one to three sims listed. My sim has to make even more friends in order to get a promotion, even though under relationships bar, they have plenty. What's up with that? And how do I fix it?

i've noticed something like that too, though i think it happened without bv too. sometimes sims friendships with family members (from another household) did not count toward their business count. i would like to know why this is as well.
