shelbnumber - You should really give gender-switched PV a try. I've always hated the Caliente sisters, but they're cute as males and might actually survive this time.

slytherin-girl - you don't want to see Alexander! He's exactly the same, not really a good look for a girl.

how do you change their gender?

To change the genders of your characters, you'll need the Insimenator from http://www.insimenator.net and SimPE from http://sims.ambertation.de/

1.Open SIM PE and export the characters you want to reverse the genders of. (Because you may only want to reverse only Don Lothario, but not Mortimer)

2. Open the characters in body shop, and alter their appearance and gender as you like.

3. Save the new file and delete the original exported file (it can cause crashes)

4. Backup your game, then move your neighbourhood folders to a safe location.

5. Start the game, and that will force the game to generate the first three neighbourhoods again.

6. Go to CAS, and create your clones using the character(s) you saved in body shop. (yes they are mere clones who we will exploit)

7.Go into the house where the original character lives and have him use the Insimenator to spawn the personality adjuster

8.Change their gender behaviour to that of the opposite sex, and repeat for all other characters to be gender reassigned.

9.Exit the game and open SIMPE

10.Go to SIM Surgery and Replace your current characters with their gender reassigned counterparts.

11.Fire up the game again, and if you've done it correctly, your characters will be themselves, just the opposite gender.

12. You can play it like this, or use the bulk renamer to turn this into another neighbourhood entirely, so you can put back your old neighbourhoods and play this new one as a custom neighbourhood.

Hope that was easy enough to understand, but I'm new at explaining anything to anyone in the SIMS fandom. If a moderator asks, I may just write a proper tutorial with pictures since my words are probably lacking.

Oh, and if it is a gender reversed Pleasantview you would like to have, then check out this project from Marhis at More Awesome Than You.

Marhis has already reversed the genders of the playable characters and renamed the neighbourhood Weivtnasaelp, and it will be 020, so you can install it without conflicts.

Marhis inspired me to attempt this with the Strangetown folk, as it is interesting to see Strangetown made even stranger.

I'm actually contemplating a female only Strangetown, being that the women there(Olive, Jenny, Ophelia, The Singles, and Circe) are already attractive, and the men look more attractive as females. Well...okay, not all of the men, Loki Beaker looks just as bad as a woman as he does as a man.

Pascal Curious on the other hand, looks so good as either a man or a woman, I don't know what to do with him really.

He comes with the OFB expansion pack and lives in Bluewater Village. I actually didn't even give him a makeover-- I just paused the game to snap a picture of Tara while he was visiting and noticed the look on his face was priceless!

Well this thread inspired me to load up pleasantveiw and make-over the regulars but i have a bit of a story to go with it because, well i thought it was funny and it may have happened to some of you when you very first went to the pleasant household at least.

First i started with Daniel-not much of a change there since the CC skins do most of the work

Thanks for the feedback. I found Jodie & Jason (her "Twin" brother) in my Families Bin, and She Came with OFB because I recognized the "emo" hair.

I love my Strangetowners, and this was a delightful turn of events! Nervous Subject was spraying the plants one day, and I noted a lag in my game. Upon investigation, it turns out that Nervous became a plantsim in that moment. Does Pascal mind? Not at all, in fact he rolled the want to be a plantsim too. Look at how they desire one another, plant or human.

It's hard to understand what you're saying when you don't use punctuation, but I think I see what you're getting at. Not all of us glam up our Sims, but you know what? It's ok if we do, after we buy the game they're our Sims--not Maxis's. And looking back at the pictures on this page, everyones' take of them seem pretty normal. I did nothing to Pao, except give him new eyebrows, a new hairstyle, and a new outfit--and I think he looks pretty good myself. Personally, I think it's fun to see what the pre-made Maxis Sims look with a makeover. If you want to keep them the same that's cool, it's your prerogative and the great thing about this game--you can do whatever
you want!

I'm off to remake my Pleasantview sims! I've recently started playing that hood again and have already done the Pleasant bunch as well as the Brokes. I cloned Skip Broke and moved him in next door to Brandi, who will hopefully meet her dead husband's twin Chip fairly soon. She wasn't in his welcome wagon, so I'll have to arrange for them to be invited to someone's house in order for them to meet. I wanted "Skip" to have normal genetics rather than the borked ones a resurrection results in (all kids any female has with him are male clones of the female because he's missing genetic data, so a SimPE-created clone of him should hopefully overcome that).

Edit: How do people change skins on their sims? I've got default replacements but have never seen any way to change the actual skin in-game. Does the plastic surgery thingy allow you to change the skin? I've never used it before but would if it meant I could change some sims' skins.

There's also a neighborhood that allows you to play Pleasantview, Strangetown, and Veronaville as one neighborhood with sub-neighborhoods. It seems really cool.

I recently had a complete reinstall thanks to the dreaded jump bug buggering all my neighborhoods. I decided to play Strangetown again. Currently I'm in the process of taking everyone to the mirror to regenerate their portraits so they show my current default skins and I give them a little makeover while I'm at it.

There are the Singles girls. Can't remember who's who - I've never played this hood before. All I remember is that Erin the blondie is Loki's sister and the two alien chicks are related to the Smiths... Anyway, just faces and hair for now. They moved in next door to the Grunts (I cheated them enough money to buy that big barracks and partially furnish it) and spent all their money on beds, so no new clothes for now.

I love the way the blue alien skintone looks in the game but it's hard to find good makeup for it.
