Last night wore me out. More emotionally than physically, but it certainly did wear me out. The next day, I woke up and decided to relax all morning and head over to The Pub to grab a quick espresso. It was such a nice day, and I didn’t feel like wasting it.

I called a taxi and headed off into the bright and sunny day, eager to get some caffeine into me. The taxi let me off and I thanked the driver before I got out and started in towards the building. After drinking my espresso slowly and carefully, I stepped outside for some fresh air. As I stood by the door, I saw a man walking towards me.

He was probably the most gorgeous man I had seen walking around Summerset lately, and I was rather eager to say hello to him. But when he came walking up to me, it seemed like he already knew me...

“Miss Davis,” he said with a small smile.

Ok, so he did know me.

“Yes?” I answered.

“You don’t remember me, do you?” He asked with a half-smile.

“Oh,” I said. “Right, Carrey. I’m sorry, I didn’t recognize you...”

“It’s alright, I was pretty dirty yesterday. I was doing some work for Miss Martha. Her bones are a little weak, so I help her out from time to time,” he told me.

“That’s very kind,” I said.

“I do my best,” he responded with a smile. “Would you like to sit down?”

I smiled and nodded as the two of us took a seat on the little bench outside of The Pub.

“Well,” I started and cleared my throat, “I don’t exactly know her. I’m looking for someone.”

There was a slight pause as we looked into each other’s eyes before spoke again.

“I’m sorry if I seemed... a little distant yesterday. I was a little emotional,” I explained.

“We all have our days,” Carrey replied.

I smiled quickly and looked down at my hands.

“Well, I should probably get going...” I said.

“Well it was wonderful to see you again,” Carrey said honestly.

“It was really nice to see you too,” I replied as I stared into his eyes.

Raising to my feet, I straightened my clothes and started to walk away. Just then I hear Carrey stand up and walk up behind me.

“Miss Davis?” He asked.

“It’s Jasmine,” I told him as I turned around.

“Jasmine,” he corrected himself, “Can I see you again?”

I smiled a little as I stared at my feet. How was I supposed to turn down the nicest man I have ever met in my life?

“I think so,” I stated firmly.

“Wonderful. I can’t wait until that day,” he said.

Today I was going to visit Carrey. He had called me a couple of nights ago and asked if I wanted to come over for lunch on the weekend. Of course I had said yes, and now I was walking towards his house and getting more and more excited by the minute! There was just something about Carrey that I was drawn to... I think it was his kind and gentle nature. Whatever it was, I loved it and wanted to be around him more than I have ever wanted to be around anyone in my entire life.

As I rounded the last corner on the street, I started walking along his sidewalk outside of his home. I looked up quickly to see his house - It was huge! Carrey was definitely doing well in his career... whatever that would be.

“I’m happy you accepted my invitation,” he said.

My heart sank. Lyndi?

“Lyndi?” I heard myself ask.

“Oh, I’m sorry... Lyndi is my maid; I should have clarified,” he told me.

I let out the breath I was holding, and followed him into his house. We took a seat in the living room and talked for a while before lunch was ready.

We talked for about ten more minutes until Lyndi called us in for lunch. We sat and had a wonderful lunch for about an hour. Lyndi had prepared us each a small salad and some divine sandwiches; some of the best sandwiches I have ever tasted. We both thanked Lyndi for the lunch, and retied back into the living room once again.

“I have enjoyed getting to know you so much,” Carrey said.

My internet was down yesterday/last night until this morning for "manual construction" - whatever. I wasnt too happy with the cable company by any means. “It’s three o’clock already?” I asked as I looked at the clock.

I had been over at Carrey’s for hours! The time had simply flown by, and I didn’t want to over-stay my welcome. I looked over at Carrey who was looking out the front window. I looked outside to see a bright yellow school bus pull up. As it came to a stop, I watched Carrey’s expression change into a bright smile.

The cutest little boy came bounding from the bus and into the house. I watched with a smile on my face as Carrey reached down to hug the little boy.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner,” he said.

“Are you... divorced then?” I asked.

“No,” he said and shook his head once.

“I’m not really understanding this,” I said in all honesty.

“It started about 8 years ago...”

When I was thirteen, I met Miss Martha, the social worker at Green Gables. She treated me like I was her own son, and I had grown to love her dearly over the years. When I started on some mission work through my church eight years ago, I decided that I wanted to work with her because she had become such an inspiration for me.

I was walking to her house on Tuesday morning, and it was the nicest day I had seen in Summerset in a long time. I was nearly right out of college, and I was ready to start in on some work - both for my career and also for my church.

By this point, I was absolutely sobbing. Hearing everything Carrey had to say about her son reminded me way too much of my own son... but in an almost uncanny way. I could barely look at Carrey as the tears streamed down my face.

Carrey went up the first couple of stairs and yelled for Mykel. The small boy bounded down the stairs in his little bubble pajamas and into the living room with us. Carrey told his son that he and I wanted to say goodnight to him. Drying the last of my tears, I watched as Carrey leaned down and hugged his son goodnight.

I am so relieved! I have been following this story for a while now, and I can't wait to see how it unfolds. Please tell me she confesses it all to Carrey. If nothing else I have learned that sometimes a perfect guy is just that...sometimes there is no "too good to be true" and a great guy can truly be great. I hope Carrey ends up being that guy. It had been nearly four days since I had last seen Carrey and Mykel. I just could not wrap my mind around the fact that Mykel was my son... my little baby boy. I can’t believe that I found him, and I can’t believe that his father is the man I am in love with.

There were things that needed to be done around the house, so I did them and everything else to try and keep my mind off of things. I spent most of my afternoon writing in my diary and taking time to smell the roses, so to speak.

It has been about a year since Carrey and I got married. Mykel was now a teenager and loving every minute of it! We didn’t have to worry much about him though - He was a great kid. He was getting straight As, receiving scholarships by the dozen and is now a recruit for the Military here in Summerset.

Carrey and I started to try and have a baby shortly after Mykel transitioned into a teenager, and I was finally pregnant! Carrey and I were expecting not only one baby, but two babies We were about to be the proud parents of two twin girls.
