Fway, I think she'd rather you do smaller, more islandy islands. England just seems rainy, think sunshine. For the swimsuits Its for the group shot so you'd need to use the same suit.

Right now, I'm a teachers aide at the Ecole Regionale de Fort-De-France. I hope to strain away from that career. As for my life story, well I was born in Le Cabret, but moved when I was 7, because my Father got a job offer in Fort-De-France. When I was about 14, I started reading those "American" magazines, some of the girls had the "glamours." Which made me want to pursue a career in modeling. I was born on this tiny island in the Florida keys, and I pretty much know everyone here. Growing up, I was always a tomboy, always playing sports with the boys, climbing trees (which I still love to do). I never much cared about girl stuff-- you know, hair and makeup. But people kept telling me that I was cute. Then the guys started telling me I was cute, which was different!

This photo company thing came to the island one day to shoot some fashion layouts or something, and they spotted me on the beach. Before I knew what was happening, someone was slathering makeup on my face and putting me in a bikini, and telling me to turn this way and that way for the camera.

I guess I like it.

Hmm... you've clearly never been to my country. For the past week i've spent all day, outside in just a t-shirt (well, not quite, I had trousers on too lol..) and it's the middle of February!!!

Yeah, I found it was odd that when I went to the UK (all four countries in three weeks) it only rained once, while I was in Ireland- although that day it also rained so hard that we had to cancel our day plans! So for the most part, it was nice and mild. Not tropical by any means, even in the middle of July, but definitely fair weather.

These are some great apps :) looking forward to this competition (especially the Hawai'i round!)

SCORING INFORMATION

2. Please try to refrain from using thumbnails. It really does make the judging process take longer. Also why not just show off your pics? You spent a long time working on them, so give them a chance to be admire by your peers. ;) Using thumbnails will cost you –2 points from you GA score.

3. Remember to read (and re-read) the round instructions carefully before making entry pictures. Part of your score will be judged on how well your entries followed the round guidelines.

4. MINI-CHALLENGES: Several rounds will feature a mini-challenge separate from the round. This is so contestants can have a chance to boost their score with up to +10 extra points to the corresponding round. The mini-challenge is completely optional and will not hurt your overall score (but will help a lot if you're stuck in a rut!).

5. SCORING: Your round entries will be scored with a 100 point limit, 100 being the maximum amount of points you can receive. Not including Mini Tasks.

Composition (CO): This is all of the tech stuff. The overall look of the pic. Is the setting realistic? Does the pose look natural? That kinda stuff.

Guideline Accuracy (GA): This is how well you followed basic/round guidelines and general rules of the contest.

ETA: When I downloaded the image, I keep getting a message that the image might look squished. I don't understand how that happened though. I tried "Open from Location" and downloading the image manually, and get the same message. Is it possible that it's a protection thingie?
ETA2: It says "No Square Pixels. Image Might Look Squashed" and makes one part of the picture unselectable. I transloaded it to imageshack and still got the same message.

Alright its seems much has gone on since I was last on. Time to play catch up. So...
1. You can use any logo for Cooyah or Malibu that suits your ad. The main idea is, you are advertizing for, in Task 1 - Cooyah and Task 2 - Malibu rum.
2. The provided swimsuits are just for Task 1. Task 2 clothing attire is your choice.
3. The mini task should feature the Country's (Jamaica) flag and show off your models face. Please re-read the Round 1 post.

Hope this clears some things up. ;)

I know right :lol: I figured it out and redid my Jamaican flag a little bit, basically, I edited and finished my entry. And thanks for clearing it all up Plumbob! :)

EDIT: When I used the color selection tool to delete the background it showed the flag in the background through her eyes. I hope you don't mind, but I had to edit her eyes a little bit so they wouldn't have yellow/green on them. And I tried to fix her hair a bit (to get rid of the ugly white stuff.) But that's the editing I did for the Mini Task, I hope that doesn't get me disqualified or anything.

Comments- In task one you lost on on points because there was no setting and the background was plain. Its an ad so try to make it a little more eye-catching. I liked the concept of your task two. Your mini task headshot looked beautiful but the green was a bit muted.

Comments-Loved it! Both tasks looked like ads and task 2 was very creative. The only advice I could give is to maybe lay off the profile shots. They're gorgeous and you do it well but head on couldn't hurt. For task two you also lost a couple points because you cut her feet off before the pic actually ended which looked a bit odd. Your mini task would have been perfect except for the whites between the dreads. I loved that you went for it with the colors!

Comments-The concept of task one was very good but be careful with your background selection as it looked like she should have been underwater. Your task two was okay except for the hair. Kudos for trying but I figure it would have looked better without it. Your mini was lovely but be carefull with that hair because it hangs on to the whites around the edges. Don't be afraid to get rid of some of the fro to make it look cleaner.

Comments-Your task one was fine except you model looked a little sad. Also the flip flops looked a bit unnatural so next time it might be best to just leave them out. Your task two was better. I liked the glass in her hand and the coconuts but the placment of the bottle threw me off. Also the sizing of the boat to her body seemed odd. Your model looked great in the mini task but you should try to go bolder with the colors next time. Also watch out for the whites in the hair.

Comments-Your girl looked fine but the background selection was a bit iffy. She seemed to be floating, maybe positioning her differently would have made it better. Also, try to work on spacing, the logo could have been bigger seeing as the sim was barely on half the pic. Your sim looked nice in task two but once again the background selection fell short. Dont be afraid to try ingame backgrounds. The feathering of the hair in both shots had alot of white bits in it. I guess the more you try the less it will happen. Your mini was great. The colors and headdress were good but watch out for the hair altering.

I liked the setting but the placement of the bottle in her hand took something away from her face and I could have done without the bag and sandals. Also work on your font selection. Your mini task was good except for the floating head feeling I got. You had ample space to show off your sims face so take advantage of it.

Comments- Your task one was good except that the hair seemed a bit overbrushed and the background was just more of the same. Your task two neared perfection. The hair worked, I liked the sand effect, the placement or the logo, the bottle, etc. The only little problem I had was with the empty glass in her hand. I gave your mini task a perfect ten because I loved the sun kissed look of it. The colors worked and so did the hair brushing-in this case. Im sure your girl would look just a glamorous with a little less hair effects.

Also she seemed a bit washed out from the pale color against her pale skin. Make her pop. Your task two was much better. I liked the addition of the extras but he took away from you score because he seemed like an equal and not just backup. Also, watch the placement of his hands and feet. Gorgeous girl. Your mini task was gorgeous. I loved the stamp effect and would have liked to give you a perfect score except for the blue eyeshadow. Colors of the island was the one necessity so watch out for that.

The only thing I would advise is to be careful where you place your model. My eyes went to the background instead of off to the side where she was. Full marks for your mini-task and (GA), you followed all the rules as far as I can see. I did dock some points for creativity for the first picture, although the pose was nice and the logo spot on, the plain background let you down a little, would have liked to have seen some more imagination.
Loved your task 2, the pose is great and the hat and trunk are nice touches, adding to the “stranded” feel. The text could have been a little more exciting but all in all a really nice picky.
The minitask is great, Delise looks very pretty and I love the earrings and hairstyle you chose.

I loved all of your pics, the first looks great, love the pose, the hair looks seriously well done and she looks fab in the chosen swimwear, I love the top half of the background but felt the bottom half needed summat more and wasn’t too keen on the pinky/purple colour, but still a really excellent shot.
Task 2 was just brilliantly executed...she blends in really well with the background, something quite hard to achieve if the background isn’t sims, the raft is a nice addition, even the bottle of Malibu looks like it belongs where it is, shadows are near perfect and the logo looks great, the “stranded” text ould have stood out a little better but overall I love this shot!
Again, the minitask was very nicely done, love the hat/hair, the text and the flag, wasn’t too keen on the bright green eyeshadow but it doesn’t look out of place.

The background for Task 1 is very well chosen/done, so much so that it’s hard to tell if it’s sims or a photograph, the clam is another really good addition but doesn;t look like it’s under the water. I’m always wary of underwater shots, on one hand she looks great, very pretty and relaxed, on another hand she doesn’t look like she’s under water, a blue/green skin tint would have added to the underwater illusion but then taken away from her beauty, tough one to call.
Really liked your Task 2 piccy, but then I really like ingame backgrounds, the text and logo are all nicely executed, the pose is “easy going” and she looks great, I feel the pic would have benefited from some shadows to give an extra something.
Minitask is nicely done, hairstyle and makeup all spot on.

Love your Task 1, the background is really nice, I do prefer in game backgrounds but this one is nicely chosen and very “Island” looking, the pose is well done and Adoray looks great, like the flip flops too, only thing missing for me was shadows which would have added that extra realism and made her part of the background more.
Task 2 background is again wello chosen, love the boat and all the little extras such as the coconut and the glass etc, I like the effect you’ve used on the logo so it looks like it’s being pushed out from the background. The pose is really good but looks a little “squashed” towards the head and shoulders end, like you’ve resized it horizontally but not vertically.
Mini task is also well done, can’t really fault it, make up is nice and she looks really pretty.

I can see where you where going in task 1, but didn’t feel it worked too well, the pose is nice but she’s not looking at the camera, some eye contact would have gone along way, the background is lovely but doesn’t really go, she just looks “stuck on”, try experimenting with ingame backgrounds, you’ll be surprised at the results you can achieve, I thought an “island” background would have worked much better for you.
Task 2 looks fun and cartoony, the outfit is really nice and she looks very pretty but again the background doesn’t work in my opinion, the island really needed to be bigger, she’s taller than the tree? Pose is good though, I like that she’s relaxing by leaning on the bottle.
Minitask is much better, not too sure about the hair/hat but I love the makeup and that you co-ordinated it with the colours from the flag.

Task 1 is nicely done but nothing grabs my attention, the pose is nice, the background is nice and the logo is spot on but nothing stands out, some shadows would have made her look more like she belonged on the beach and maybe a drop shadow on the logo would make it stand out a little more, again I’m a fan of in game backgrounds but she does look very pretty.
Task 2 is much better, there’s more going on, more to grab the attention....The pose is done very nicely, the bottles, the shoes, the bag, all good little extras. Logo & text could have been executed better but they do the job.
Some variation in hairstyle would have been nice, I noticed you used the same in all three pictures.
The minitask looks great, I love the makeup you’ve chosen and her facial expression is nice...I wouldn’t have had the head “floating” personally, maybe lowering it down so it’s like a proper head shot with the text above would have worked better.

Background for Task 1 is really pretty, again, not in-game but I really like the colours of the water and the sand with the blue of the sky.
The pose is really nice and I really like the photoshopped hair, especially around her face, the bit behind her back is a little blurred but around her face it looks really, really good. Again, shadows would have made her look more a part of the image, but they are quite difficult to do and I understand that not everyone has learnt how to do them.
Costume, makeup and logo are all lovely.
Task 2 – Is really very good! I love the expression on her face, really like the hair and LOVE the pose! I think it’s great that you integrated her into the background more with this shot, her legs actually sinking into the sand definitely adds something to the picture.
Minitask was lovely, I liked that you used the arms and again the photoshopped hair looks really well done.

Task 1 is nicely done, you have the shadows done great, the hair looks well done also, Marqaux looks very pretty and very tall! The background is nice and fitting with the task but I’m not that keen on it as she looks too big for the image but tis a well thought out shot.
Task 2 is great, lots going on and alot to grab the attention. I like that you’ve used another sim and I love all the clutter and the parrot, lol. The background, again not ingame, goes much better on this task that the first. The lighting is nice also.
I LOVE your mini task, I think the stamp idea is great, great headshot and I love that the post mark is stamped over her...great shot!

Task 1 I wasn’t too keen on, it looks like you’ve used a background image that was too small and enlarged it and now it’s all pixellated. The pose is nice but the background just spoils it for me.
Task 2 is great!! Much, much better! I like that it’s kinda funny with the stuff going on in the background, the crashed plane and the sims with the stars around their head is a great touch. The pose is very nice and Eden looks very pretty and chilled out, the little deco items are a nice touch and I like that you went in game for this pic. Task 1 lowered your score from me but task 2 gets full marks!
Eden looks very pretty in the minitask, nicely done.

Loved your piccys. I really like that you went in game for the main two tasks, the first is wicked, love the half underwater shot, it’s something different that I haven’t seen before, and even though she’s half submerged the costume still looks great, love the hairstyle and the logo looks great, can’t fault it.
Love task 2, is that rain? What a nice touch! Pose is great, love the use of the hammock and the radio/magazines, my only wish would be that the bottle was a mailibu bottle, would have added that extra “yay”.
The minitask is nice but I feel she could have benefitted from some lighting on her face, it’s very dark and although I love the hairstyle in the first two pics, would have liked to of seen something different for this one.

Task 1 background actually looks surprisingly good, not a fan of “real” backgrounds but the shadow looks great and really pulls her into the image, really liked the pose, her legs loo amazing, but felt that some eye contact and a more direct look at her face would have been more pleasing (for me at least).
Task 2 I love...I see you’ve used some Castaway items that really go with the whole “stranded” theme, the lighting is lovely, gives the picture a really intimate feel, and I love all the deco and the extra sims, the trees in the background look really nice too. Top marks for this task!
Minitask is nice, not too keen on the hairstyle, I think the others suit her face shape better but it’s a nicely done headshot.

I know “Island” is your thing, and it shows! Task 1 is lovely, I like that you’ve combined the backgrounds and didn’t go totally “real”. Jennifer is a real beauty and looks amazing, nice to see a shadow in there also. Can’t really fault Task 1, the sand is maybe a little bright compared to the lighting on her body but that’s just me being overly picky, I love this shot!
Task 2 you’ve made really fun...I love sandcastles and spades and the other sims in the background, pose is well executed and fits in with the image nicely, again, I love the in-game background.
The minitask pose is really fun again, not sure if I like the “white” in the makeup but the green part is nice. Text and background done nicely, great job all round.

Task 1 is very simple but works really well. The pose is lovely and the hair is photoshopped quite well, in game backgrounds always score higher in my eyes, and you even through in a shadow for good measure, plus she looks very pretty, good job!
Tanya looks amazingly gorgeous in Task 2, the hairstyle suits her so much! Love the light from the fire and the ingame background is lovely, I’m not sure the hammock was needed as it overpowers the picture slightly, but all in all it’s a great shot.|
Minitask is great, Tanya doesn;t look as striking as in task 2 but it still works very well, the make up you’ve used is nice and the hairstyle looks great.

Task 1 – Love the in game background, and the pose is excellent, can’t really fault the pic as I really like it, except that the logo could have been a little more apparent.
Eve looks great.
Task 2 I love! Can see a couple of Castaway items which I love! I like that you’ve still used sim items as part of the background and deco instead of going totally “real”. Love the pose and the outfit is great! Hairstyle is very fitting to the “stranded” look but where’s the Malibu? That was the only thing missing for me, otherwise great shot.
Eve looks amazing on the headshot in the minitask, the lighting you’ve used works really well and I love the yellow and green makeup, some models find it hard to pull off such unusual colours but on Eve they look completely natural, she has great eyes also!
Even though you’ve included the flag in the picture it was supposed to be the backdrop behind your model.

Optional Mini Task – The eyes have it.

This task will be a head shot of your model in colors influenced by the island only this time they must be wearing sun-glasses of choice. The photo should be infront of Puerto Rico’s flag. Be expressive.

WOW! I am really surprised! Thank you judges! I never expected to be in first place for this round, let alone in the top 3, because everyone's entries were just so completely awesome and SO creative- I was inspired and intimidated by all of you guys. The only discrepancy I have with any scores (at the risk of sounding like a total brat) is the white between the dreads on my mini-task... it was because Lenda was wearing a white dress at the time. I guess I should have made it a tube top to be consistent ;) and it's no big deal, I'm just super-happy!
Charlotte, really sorry to see you go, I love Delise and thought your pics were just beautiful, especially Task 2. I'll see you in Miss Congeniality, though! :anime:

It some times takes me hours, and I know others that go through that aslo!! I haven't mastered the poses, yet. So for now I enjoy the hacks they put out for us. I do envy people with the talent to make wonderful poses without hacks. :angel:

It's a mixed bag, Michelle. For the few users who create wonderful poses, there are lots of users who make grotesque poses. Is it artful to bend an arm in a way arms don't operate on a real human? I like the hacks, too...maybe if I had years to put together a pose in parts, I'd appreciate it more. Nine times out of ten, I find it's not worth the trouble.
