Very Slow...

Welp, I installed the game with no problem. My computer met the system requirements, and everything but...it's just very slow. As in Sims 2 on the highest setting in a huge lot with tons of sims slow. I guess I'll have to buy a new something but I don't know what, as I'm not good at computers. Can anyone help me?
