Some things that the sims do that I wish I could do in real life, are things like this:

Quickly fall in love with someone just by chatting with them a bunch of times, then move in for romance. You can fall in love in one day!

The ability to turn into a supernatural, or have an alien baby

play SSX3. I don't know if that's a real game or not, but it looks fun!

So what are some things that sims do that you wish you could do?

Acquire a hundred thousand dollars in a matter of weeks, then quit work to live off said savings for several generations. ;)

So many things:

Get skinny by only working out for an hour or two.
A chauffeur to work every day
Give birth in like 5 minutes and immediately have your figure back!
Be "in the mood" romantically every single time woo-hoo is chosen
Learn to play the piano like a concert pianist after only a few days of practice

There's way more than these ones, but these are the mains:

The ability to just look in the mirror and be able to have long, straight hair when a second ago you had short curly hair.

To be able to get skinny so quickly.

To be able to master every skill within a week or two.

Be able to fix problems simply by not saving.
Being able to marry an Orlando Bloom sim and have him be the perfect guy.
Use the Motherlode cheat
Drive a new Mustang
Being able to kill skanky romantic rivals and not have any trouble with being thrown in jail (I'm half joking about that one)

Giving birth in five minutes (or under) amongst tinkles and lullabies, immediately slipping back into... the hip pre-preggo clothes. No more hubby's hands breaking, no more nasty pushing...

To be a baby, toddler, or child and cheat death (although the social worker can still come get you).

Colleges with cows and easy, fast, guaranteed 3.0+ GPAs every semester.

No traffic!

No taxi fees!

Resurrecting the dead? :wtf:

Swimming in beaches!

aging off
redecorate the entire house in an instant
it's a lot easier to keep the house tidy, even if you don't hire a maid
You can drive a car as soon as you become a teenager. No drivers licence, lessons, or vision test required.
groceries are delivered if you don't want to to go shopping. Or you can just get a new fridge full of food.
Bookshelves seem to have an infinite supply of books that you haven't already read yet.

And I would love to be able to raise the dead

I meant the way they do in the Sims, a simple fistfight and winner wins all, if it's the burgler s/he gets away if its the cop the burgler gets arrested and you get $500.

So what are some things that sims do that you wish you could do?

You've got that right! It's so hard to do in real life. I've been on online dating sites and it's so hard to even connect in real life. You know what I did with my game awhile back that relates to this? I made a CAS to be me,made her look as much like me as I could at the time. Anyway, I was messing around getting the Caliente sisters pregnant with the Grim Reaper. They always turn out to be great looking sims. This one boy out of all of them is my favorite of all. After he grew up, went to college and graduated, I decided I wanted him for my "me" sim. He looks like a simulation of my dream man. Anyway, I had no idea how to make them meet, so I moved her out, moved her in the house he was living in when he got out of college(his mother's house). Then made him start chatting with her. I wish I could do that in real life! Anyway, another thing I'd like to do is have a money tree or two. Another thing that would be cool is how I cheat to make some sims extremely rich. I package the family, reinstall them, move them out, then move them in with their original selves. Yes, there ends up being copies of them in the same house. Then I move out the copies of them that were installed, then their funds double. Can you imagine making a copy of yourself, keep doubling your funds like that? I move the copies of them out and their funds stay with the household. (bad deal for some sims, huh  Then I delete the copies I just moved out. Wouldn't that be hilarious to be able to do that? Another thing that would be cool is when something goes really wrong in life, you could exit without saving  then it never happened to you.

I have a much simpler way to cheat that way: I have a small lot in each of my neighborhoods that I've named "Cheatzilla Villa" and after I make a family that I want to be richer than just $20,000, I move them into that lot, use the motherlode cheat, move them back into the family bin and then move them into their desired house. That would be so cool to do in real life...that and the whole perfect husband thing.

Or you could just use the familyFunds cheat to give them as much as you want in the neighborhood screen, that's a lot easier!

That only works with Nightlife and following EPs, though.

Oh yeah, and I'm shocked no one has noted how cheap the lots are! It seems expensive in game, but 450,000 for a 7,500 square foot castle? I'll take it! Where I am, a house like Brandi's trailer would still fetch $120,000+ USD!

 Well, since you can't save IRL, I'd have to agree... but it works in the Sims, sort of....it gives your sims a chance to do things differently and see if it works...if not, exit without saving and it's back to the drawing board. I'd love to be able to do that in real life (it would be like that movie Groundhog Day) I agree with the folks who mentioned turning aging off...that would rock. :Pint:

Some cool things you can do with insim that I would like to do in real life:

Summon anyone in the town

Increase my skills to max (especially cooking)

choose what age I want to be for that day, oh I feel like being a teen today, well maybe tomorrow I'll be an elder, or no maybe a toddler.

Get preggers. That would be awesome to be a preggy man! :p

If you turn boolprop testingcheatsenabled true, you can also slide the blue buttons to full. It won't show up as "Maximized Creativity" on your Sims memories, but they can paint, repair, and cook everything Maxis supplied. I've also heard it works with maxmotives, but I've never tried it.

Your Cheatzilla is funny. What you're saying is what I was trying to say about moving them in then out. Someone else said something about the neighborhood funds cheat. I realize all that too, but it takes much too long for the wealth I'm talking about. Even that cheat takes too long, there is a limit to how much funds it will add each time you enter the code, since I remembered it. Well, I'm not talking a few million, I'm talking 1 billion 800 million rich. If you guys ever get a family that rich, don't go much more beyond that amount of money. If you go somewhere up to 2 billion, it ruins their funds. I found out and had to do all that moving in and out to fix it. I know, I'm crazy for wanting that family to be that rich. I remember when we had sims 1 and it couldn't handle 10 million I believe it was. It puts your funds in the negative.

stygia2002
31st Aug 2009, 4:26 AM
Ah yes...the highest I've ever had the patience to go is one million. Any method you use to get that much money is going to be totally time consuming and tedious...but I'm glad you told me about the "cap" on funds. Knowing me, I'd get the bug to try something like that and be beating my head on my keyboard.

If you create a new Sim or use an existing one and make them have 9,999,999 and merge them with another Sim of the same wealth, they end up with 20 million! I noticed that when I made a Sim marry another one out of CAS.

I also don't like that idea stygia put forth, though, as it shows up in their memories. "Moved In!" again and again.

6) free taxi;
7) to change hairstyle in such a simple way;
8) to be able to correct facial features using dr. Woo's machine (hope, you know what I mean, I don't know how to spell it coreectly because my game is not in English) - it's relatively simple;

In Sims 2, you can control the outcome if you save the game just as the sim is going through labor pains. Once the baby is born, if the sex of the baby isn't what you want, you return the neighborhood screen (without saving) then reload the house and try again until it's the sex that you actually want. It can be a bit laborious, but it works.

Being able to spin round to change clothes!
Fall in love with whoever you like with a single flirt. And have them do the same with you!
Be able to obtain your dream job just by saying yes to the question "Do you want this job?" asked in the paper. No interview required!
Carrying umpteen fish, plants, sculptures or furniture along with your fishing rod and bug-collecting jar in your back pocket.
Always being able to find clothes in your size no matter WHAT store you shop in.

I don't usually use either of the money cheats, but having the option when I'm skint would be VERY nice!

Things I wish were true in real life:

-Typing "motherlode" = $50000 in bank account.
-College pays you for good grades. There is no tuition.
-The ability to look super-skinny and super-good in all clothing.
-Every time you finish a novel, someone calls and says, "Congrats! Here's a giant check!"
-No disease except flu/cold/guinea pig sickness.
-Painting a room/re-wallpapering/re-furnish/completely re-build house instantaneously. No contractors, no zoning regulations, no neighborhood association guidelines, no paint fumes or worker noise.
-Teleportation.
-The ability to live forever and to avoid unpleasant events by reloading without saving.

These are things that occurred to me only after I jumped on this thread. Below is the reason I thought of before I logged into this thread:

Probablly already said about 100 times but -

Work out for a few hours and be super toned.
paint like, 7 paintings and then be a master of all things creative (guitar/piano/singing/poetry/writing/drawing/painting ect.)
when I eventually come to having my babies, just spin around to give birth instead of being ripped open from front to back.

... The list could go one forever...

can someone just make the sims real, please? Or find a way to send me into the sims - but i don't want someone else controlling it... I'll just control it from inside, on a pc in the game XD. Download new hairs straight into the game then just go to the mirror *POOF* awesome hair. XD

-Wake up 10 mins before class starts. Spin promptly -whoosh- Clothes on, clean and ironed! Hair, makeup, too, just totally PERFECT. Backpack, notebook, pencils? Who needs that? Let's just go to class! ...Oh, it's cold outside? Spin, WHOOSH! My coat is now on with a completely different set of (still clean, still ironed) jeans. We'll work it out when we get to class. Time to casually walk to class with 3 minutes to spare.

-At a nice club blowing bubbles when the hottest guy I've ever seen walks in. He heads to bar where 2 hot, fit, rich girls sit flirting with the bartender. He stares at them in disgust. He does not like their hair and perfectly sculpted bodies! He cares not for their boobs and money! And with one conversation He knows that he's just not compatible with them. And that's where it all comes down to.

I hear he likes girls with lots of skills and glasses. Our astrological signs match too. Maybe... <3<3

-Racism? Discrimination? You mean if a person is half alien or a zombie? ...What, you mean between humans? HUH? That's just WEIRD..... How am I suppose to look at you and make assumptions? Your color or sex doesn't tell me anything about you.. How can I tell if you're rich, poor, intelligent and went to college, hardworking with your own business, or if you grew up in Takemizu or Twiikii without speaking to you? ...that's just silly.

-What is this disease you call cancer? What is that? We only really get colds and pneumonia here. Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your loved one. Did you try begging to the Grim Reaper for another chance? ...No? You should get into the paranormal field then. Once you're high up, you receive a special item where you can call Grim and ask him to bring your loved one back! He requires a lot of money to return them to the state you knew them in though, so start saving up.... what? It doesn't work that way where you're from? Once you die, you die? That's it? ...I don't know what a doctor is, I'm sorry, we just rest when we're sick....

Your world is a little twisted. I think I'll stay where I'm at. It's a lot simpler... with a lot less stress and heartache..

--A dishwasher which will wash absolutely any kind of dish or cookware you throw into it, completes a cycle in five seconds, then magically puts the dishes back (have you ever seen a sim unload a dishwasher?)

--Self-cleaning cookware that puts itself away (is it obvious yet that I somewhat hate doing the dishes?)

--Dogs can be let outside, leash-less in unfenced yards, and it only ever strikes them to run away if their home-life is really bad. Also, when they go, their mess disappears, no pooper-scooper needed, and when they have to go in and out, the doors open and close for them. And even incredibly mean animals will not bite/attack small children.

--The ability to throttle the crap out of someone without any real consequences besides that person not liking you any more (just because I've known waaay too many people in real life who seriously needed a boot up the ass, and just wouldn't learn any other way).

--An absolutely unending supply of hot water. No more having to wait for it to heat back up so you can take a hot shower.

--A single (and rather cheap) bill covers the cost of your home, utilities, insurances, etc. And you can pay it by just sticking it in your mailbox, and it is taken care of immediately!

--Gay couples (and guys who just want to experience pregnancy) can get pregnant and have biological children if they want. All kids who need homes/need to be adopted have them/can get them easily, and no discrimination if a homosexual couple wants to adopt. :luff:

And, of course, the things everyone else has mentioned; motherlode, can instantly undo a screw-up, dream jobs in an instant, an almost guaranteed 3.0+ GPA and degree from a tuition-less college, no major health issues, can undo death, no discrimination, etc.

~No parking fees/tickets: the only time i have to deal with the police AT ALL is if somebody robs my house. as it should be... lol. & if i park in the traffic lane, screw oncoming traffic, it's my spot. deal with it:)
~No tests, IDs, or referrals in grade school: all it takes for an A+ is an hr of homework per night and a good attitude. AWESOME.

You know how, if you time it right and save the bed for last, your dating pair of sims can woohoo together three times in quick succession with almost no recovery time in between? (Three is the max my sims have gone so far, anyway...)

Also: massive motive boosts, including bladder and hygiene, from a really good dream date. So you can dance, eat, play, and woohoo all night long, and still make it to work fresh as a daisy in the morning.

The older you get, the more you value the important things.

OOH. Every time people woo-hoo? FIREWORKS. For both people. Then both of them fall into blissful sleep.

Peni Griffin
1st Jun 2011, 5:40 PM
Unless they're in the hot tub or the car, in which case they can move to the bed, immediately woohoo with fireworks again, and then fall into the blissful slumber. Even if he's an elder.

You can still tell if a sim isn't as skillful, though, as sometimes the partner's wants reroll and the desire to woohoo goes away. This generally happens with casual lovers, not committed relationships, though, so that's all right. (I don't think Peter Ottomas is very good in bed - Samantha's likely to start fretting about the kids in the middle. It's not just that there's so many kids to fret about - Kitty Hawkins never has that problem.) As long as the energy level's above the midline and the love is real, there's never a performance issue.

On a less titillating note: sims don't get insomnia. I have never once in my life gone to bed and gone straight to sleep, no matter how tired I was - and in fact my energy bar can be in the red and I'll still be wide awake, practically hallucinating. If I could borrow that from the sims, I'd let the rest of it go with only a wistful sigh.

Yeah. I rarely fall asleep quickly when I go to bed. Although, I have to admit that I get so tired of tossing and turning that I don't usually let myself go to bed until after I've nodded off while sitting up a couple times. Much easier to get to sleep quickly than wasting time tossing and turning with my brain going on and on.

But still, most of the time I don't feel well-rested. It seems the world has been in a conspiracy to interrupt my sleep as often as possible. Yet sims wake up with their energy bars full more often than not. Lucky for them.

Some things that the sims do that I wish I could do in real life, are things like this:

The ability to turn into a supernatural, or have an alien baby

So what are some things that sims do that you wish you could do?SSX3 is in fact a real game. I have it for the XBOX. It's a snowboarding game but I think it's REALLY fun. It's kind of an old game though. :P I got it from my dad.

There are lots of things i can do in TS2 that I wish I could do in real life. Here's my top 10:

1. Become a good witch and use magic.
2. Stop aging just by typing aging off. Immortality, here I come!
3. Change my look drastically every time I go look in a mirror.
4. Make robots!
5. I wish i could make friends as easily as my sim does.
6. Go to college in such a short time. 72 hours for one semester, not realistic!
7. Fly (with the help of the fly potion game mod).
8. Go to class all day and party all night with no need to eat or use the bathroom thanks to maxMotives and motiveDecay off cheats.
9. Meet aliens, vampires, and other supernatural beings and make friends with them.
10. Drive a blue mini cooper!

You put the plates in the dishwasher and they magically reappear clean when you serve the next meal. Kids don't wet the beds and laundry never gets dirty. Diapers either wash and put themselves away or are free, and the same for baby wipes (are sim babies cloth or paper users?). You don't have to buy specific ingredients, just generic food and somehow the turkey you didn't buy is thawed and ready to cook. And the food lasts forever in the fridge, and if you grew tomatoes they somehow become lobster if you want! Though it would be handier if zucchini had that property. And Eggplant makes you more skillful, which would actually get me to consume eggplant. (Yeah, it's garden planning time again.)

In playing TS2, we play God. Don't we? But we care for our Sims and repeatedly take them out of sticky situations which they have landed themselves in due to their own blundering ways. We see their Want panel and try to fulfill all of the wants, even the impossible ones.

Spinning around to get into clothes, aging off, exiting a situation that's not gone right and doing it all over again, a money cheat, get any job I want, go on the treadmill for an hour and you're toned, discrimination does not exist, unless you're turn offs are certain hair colours, cologne, or hats, and build my skills up quickly by wearing a stupid helmet on my head!

Things I also wish I could do

2) If I had a toddler, potty training them in a few bathroom experinces. If I wear the stupid helmet, it's much faster!
3) Preparing a meal, and everyone loves it, no complaining!

7) I move into a new place, and some strange guy brings me a present, a new computer!
8)I could be a doctor, rock star, space pirate, teacher, lawyer, journalist, and chef, all without a college degree. However, I can also go to any university I want, pay no tuition, in fact they pay me for a job well done. And I can now go into the same careers, without being at entry level. Spend one day training and become super-fit. And it would not have to involve warming up, stretching or pain three days after. Happiness. And become a witch with a pointy hat, and everyone is fine with it. Never having to go to the supermarket with a planninglist, you can do everything with the stuff in your refrigerator.

But I would be seriously freaked out by zombies. I do not even play them since they are so freaky.

And in Sims' world find a job is really easy and in the base game, need not any studies, my sims had 0/20 and she find a job quickly. And it never rains, it's always sunny ^^

Of course everything else they do takes way longer - 10 minutes + to get out of bed. If you don't have a teleport hack, a fucking hour or more to walk from one part of the house to another (from my reading a typical person can walk 4 MILES in an hour!!!) Half an hour or more to eat once a meal is served. 10-15 minutes to wash their damn hands. 2 or 3 minutes to get dressed is a bargain compared to that.

Another is if you want to hook up with someone (well, until some EPs and even then if they don't have certain turn ons/offs) they don't care what you look like or how much money you make/have or how good your social skills are.

Here are some of mine:

-Levitate & teleport when you meditate in a zen garden

-private elevators

-make a living as a painter

-restore cars right out of your own garage(and being able to find another junk car right away and restore that!

-enclosed apartment mailboxes(most today are just open shelves, meaning someone else can steal your mail )

-have a private helicopter

-that electric orb-dancing thingy from Nightlife

-being able to buy & sell property without any BS(a.k.a. going to the real-estate office and reading & signing all kinds of documents)

Being able to grow a huge garden from seed to harvest in just a couple days.

Be able to fish out of a pond not much bigger than a puddle for days and the pond remain stocked. Not to mention selling each fish I caught for over $100.

Put a couple snapdragon bouquets by the bed and wake up with every motive full. Plus using snapdragons above cribs so I would never have to change a soiled diaper again...

Having the mod where toddlers and babies always sleep all night.

Never having to put dishes away.

I could go on forever....

It's more tolerable when you consider that you can keep yourself fed for several days on 2 days' of work. Despite Sims having no access to tractors, let alone any modern means of intensive farming (other than fertiliser in a bag - that Sims can safely handle without any kind of protective gear, and without washing their hands afterwards).

Definitely this. It would be so great to just pick up the paper and have a job in your desired career area in seconds!

I'd also love school to be as easy. All the sims have to do is do their homework and turn up every day and they get straight As. No exams to worry about and no sucking at one particular subject which threatens to drag your overall GPA down.

I wish that moving was so simple. Just pick a new house and poof you're there. No packing boxes, no moving said boxes, no unpacking said boxes and realizing that you mislabeled the boxes. No arriving at the new house and discovering that the bathroom window is broken and has to be replaced. Sigh.

Well, at least we don't have to worry about moving into a house and finding ghosts who are pissed because you have kids/you sold their bed/etc. Unless you're really that unlucky, of course.

The ones most applicable to me:

Getting a job that I want and am qualified for. Forget all the interviews and rejections and waiting! If the newspaper is too slow and "boolprop" isn't your thing, just get the bulletin board mod!
Tired? Lying in bed? Well then, you can fall asleep! Rather than toss and turn for hours as I am prone to do.
Have new furniture? Moving? No one is going to have to lift anything heavy. Just put it in your pocket, or sell it on the spot.

I wish one could drive a car legally without requiring a license & insurance documentation.

And, despite not needing any form of paperwork, lessons or time expenditure, be able to drive without making a single driving error (no matter how mild), never getting into trouble with the police because you instinctively follow every single law, and without ever having to worry about being in a road accident of any kind (because such things never happen in the Sims 2) or needing to repair the car (because the only broken ones are the ones you buy in bits on purpose to get a supercar cheaply). Oh, and knowing you can get anywhere in the world in your car (or on foot!) in under five minutes (except for holidays, when you can get through the entire process of checking-in, flying, arriving and transiting to your accommodation in the same sub-five minute timescale as it took to drive to the store next door).
