[Character's names have been changed.] This is a retelling of the popular movie/book, Twilight. No, I didn't like the movie or book very much, but anyways.... here's a different plot, about almost practically the same thing.
SETTING/TIME: PAST
1 year before Alexa and Chase were dating completely. In this case, Bella is Alexa and Edward is Chase. Get it now? Okay, now which "Cullen" is which?
Rosalie Cullen: Elizabeth Freedman
Alice Cullen: Kelly Freedman
Jasper Cullen: Damion
Emmett Cullen: [has the same name :) ] Emmett Freedman
Carlisle Cullen: Taylor Freedman
Esme Cullen: Esmee Freedman
-----------------------------
[Alexa's POV]
I walked in the nearly full lunch room, and went straight to Amy's table. Most of my "new friends" were sitting there, laughing and chatting to each other. Once I got there I quickly sat down and Amy rolled an apple to me.
"Eat," She instructed me. "You're going to get as skinny as a cow, if you don't do something about your eating habits."
I rolled my eyes and took a bite out of the apple. It was juicy, and I amazed myself by not wanting to pretend to eat it. Then some pale-white kids walked in and sat at what looked like a reserved table. One by one they piled in, most of them in couples...
There were either six or seven of them, I estimated. That was quite a crowd here at the school. They quietly sat down and began talking, not even getting food first.
"Who are they?" I asked Amy curiously.
"Oh, them? Mike and Adam, but you already know Mike!"
"No, THEM." I pointed to Edward.
"Ohh. Um, he's Chase, the golden-hair one. Don't go drooling over him, because apparently no girl is good enough for him here. That's Kelly, Damion, Elizabeth, and Emmett. The Freedman's kids, their dad's a doctor at the hospital. They keep away from practically every student here. I think they're emos or something."
With that said by Amy, I kept my mouth shut. I didn't know of anything more to say or ask, and I stood up to get a napkin for my apple.

PRESENT DAY \
------IN THE WOODS------\
"Alexa, we don't... we don't fit." Chase looked into Alexa's big, watery brown eyes.
"No... we do!" Alexa insisted, a tear rolling down her cheek. Chase didn't wipe it away, which made Alexa twitch. "Please stay, Chase... please, please!"
"You'll do better without me. It's healthy for you,"
"No, no, no... CHASE!" Alexa screamed and shot up from her bed. The bedsheets completely flew off the bed, just like Chase left her, Alexa. It was a 1-month anniversary of Chase leaving her... and today felt no different from the other days. Alexa felt so much like crap nowadays.
Did Chase think it would really be better?
Why did he just leave her like that, such a sad way to break up...

with someone you love.

Alexa broke out her notebook from her drawer and scribbled down a poem. A tear slurred a few words on it, but she knew trying to write over it would not help fix it. She ripped off the paper, crumbled it up, and tossed it to her trash can, which she missed.
I earned myself a heart
Only to have it torn apart
Inside, I called out for help
But yet nobody did I tell
I feel betrayed in a sorrowful way
But even the month of May
won't help because Chase was there
last year and now I am yet to shed tears

Before going on, Alexa read it over and realized how bad it sounded.
"This won't work at all. I hate my stupid life!!" Alexa groaned and threw herself to lay down on her bed. Suddenly her bedroom window creaked, and she looked. A figure was opening it... Chase!
He always did this. Maybe he realized what he did was wrong, the worst mistake of his... immortal life. Finally he had come to apologize, and Alexa and he would run off happily, hugging and going to the-
"Heeey, Alexa! Miss me much?"
The voice was not Chase's.
Alexa rolled her eyes when she found that it was actually Wyatt, her dad's friend's son from La Push, the Indian reservation here in Forks, Washington. Wyatt gladly invited himself in, and sat down by Alexa on her bed.
"Got anyone to go to prom yet? I heard your school is gonna have that..."
"No."
"Well, I was thinking. And so were our dads. It's a really good idea to... accept my invitation to go with me to your prom?"
"No."
"Aw, come on, Alexa, please?" Now Wyatt was trying to make his face look cute, but his face was actually a stern, hard one, inherited from his dad, likely. Alexa had no idea what ever happened to Wyatt's mother, but she suspected death after going somewhere. At least, that's from what clues she had gathered herself in the past years.
Alexa groaned again and shook her head. "Sorry, Wyto. But NO."
"It's Wyatt! C'mon, know you like me!"
"Shut your friggin mouth, Wyatt. I don't like you one bit, and that counts very much as to what emotion you wish I had towards you." She looked at her feet and pointed them inwards, looking for something else to do. Of course, she very well knew this would not work.
"But... you will, you best trust me, you will want to go with me soon, Alexa! Just talk to your Dad about it!" Wyatt jumped out of her window after walking slowly back to it and after that, silence.
Just silence.
Where was Chase right now? What was he doing? Did he miss her, after all? What did he think?
Of course, Chase probably didn't know some of the answers to that question in terms of vice versa. He could never read her mind.
Alexa dragged herself downstairs to her boring, dull kitchen, dancing in white decorated furnishings. Her Dad was reading the newspaper, sitting down and eating chicken noodle soup that she had prepared earlier, but felt too sick to eat.
"'Mornin, 'Lexa. Hey, gotta talk to you. Sit down next to me, please."
Alexa did as told; she knew what was coming.
"Thinking 'bout that Wyatt boy yet? You really should go to your... er, what's it called... promo this Friday?"
"It's prom, Dad. No, I don't like him. He's boring."
"'boring?' Alexa..."
Shoot. Ever since health class, everything Alexa said sounded wrong. And same with her dad; he was taking some courses at the local college for free, since he was a cop.
"Dad, I didn't mean that. I know that's a very wrong... THING to do. But I meant that I really don't like Wyatt. I'd rather... stay home for the night."
"No you're not, Alexa. I have company over that night. You damn know I'm not making you go with Wyatt, but you'll have to, anyway. I'm calling his Dad right now to hook you two kids up."
Alexa held hatred for her father whenever he did such things, which may result in something minor but the actions taken were terrorizing Alexa. She lunged forward to grab the phone first, and quickly dialed numbers.
"I'll call him, Dad!" She ran out of the room; luckily it was wireless.
She was dialing Amy's phone number. Lately, because of her depression, she wasn't hanging out with any of her friends anymore. Mike insisted on helping her, but each move he made she declined from.
Automatically she got sent to leave a message, since Amy's phone must of been off. Maybe she forgot to turn it back on after school the previous cold, cloudy day.
"Amy, it's me... not Michele, it's Alexa. Alexa Swan... got time to call me back soon? Please... I'm very sorry about me acting like a total emo loner, but I'm not actually emo. Please call me back, Amy! Talk to ya later.." Alexa hung up the phone and leaned against the wall. She then went back to the kitchen and put back the phone, her dad eying her suspiciously. Silence. Again.
"You didn't call him, did you?"
Alas, her father, Chief Jessie Swan, had broken the silence. Alexa decided to lie for her first time (at least she could remember), but then shook her head. It seemed as if she would not break her no-lying lifetime streak, because she would regret that in the long run.
Chief Swan picked up the phone once more and punched in many numbers, secondly placing the phone to his ear. He motioned for Alexa to come next to him. She slowly (and nervously) did so. He chuckled when Alexa heard a voice on the other line. "Karlisle! Hey, pal! Yep, gotta be a yes, of course! What? No, no, couldn't have happened. He's lying. Oh, okay, so it was the truth? Well, she's confirmed it! Alexa's very happy to be going out with Wyatt. They'll be a great couple!" He hung up soon afterwards.
Alexa wasn't in the room.
~~~
Alexa stormed over to La Push. Someone else ought to get Wyatt, his dad, and her own dad straight; that meant matters would have to be taken into her own hands. Once there, she knocked loudly on the door. Karlisle, Wyatt's dad, opened the door gratefully and gave her a big, cheeky smile. "Alexa, so wonderful to see you here! Excited for prom already, eh? Wyatt is in his room, I think practicing his dance moves." He chuckled, and let Alexa in. Without saying a word to Karlisle and his blabber, she went up the staircase and flew to Wyatt's room.
"Alexa? I told you that you'd change your mind!"
"Well, not directly. And my dad lied to yours. I STILL refuse to go with you to my prom. I don't like you, you don't charm me! My dad's a big, fat liar. I'm telling your dad what my dad did to him; lie to his best friend."
Leaving Wyatt with a confused look, Alexa went down the stairs and back to Karlisle. "My dad lied to you. I don't like your son, sorry about all the trouble." She went outside and back home.
~~~
She saw Amy passing by, and Amy pulled over to pick her up. They practically sped back home, because Amy seemed really excited... and drunk. Alexa didn't feel safe, because she didn't know about Amy's conditions before she went inside her BMW. Suddenly a big rig truck tied into sight and they were about to ram into it. Lightning and thunder...
~~~
-Did Alexa get killed... well, likely not, but is she seriously hurt/injured?
-Does Chase know about this?
-What is Chief/officer Swan's reaction to everything?
-Does Amy get arrested... if she lives on?
I heard slight beeping sounds and felt someone touching my forehead. I slowly opened my eyes and I could only see white.
Was I dead?
Suddenly my vision was clear and not blurry; I heard somebody say, "Oh my gosh!" I turned my head to the right and saw my mother, standing there. I looked to the left and saw Amy crying.
"What happened?" I asked.
My mother gave a hesitant look and responded, "Alexa, you should eat something. I brought you some cookies." She held forward a tray of her delicious, warm sugar cookies with pink sprinkles on top, and I gladly took one. She always made the best cookies, but of course everybody has their own opinions on homemade food.
I took a big bite out of the crunchy cookie, and crumbs fell down onto my chest. But I didn't care; what about Amy? I turned to her as she wiped her eyes, and she muttered, "I'm so sorry... we thought, well, I thought, that I had killed you!! I was so scared, I still am! I mean... the police! They're gonna arrest me!!" With that said, Amy started bawling her eyes out again.
"Keep crying and you'll make your eyes rotten," I joked, and I smiled. Amy's weeping decreased, and finally my father walked in. He didn't seem to notice my mom, and my mom realized that it would be best to not lecture dad about anything. After all, my mom WAS a very annoying person sometimes...
My dad turned to Amy and handed her some papers. This only made her cry even more.
"Dad, please... she should only be punished for DUI and.. well, I GUESS putting me in a state of jeopardy."
Dad nodded but didn't keep his eyes off of Amy. Amy twitched. Finally dad came over to me (on the left side of my hospital bed; Mom was on the right) and he hugged me. My mother handed me another sugar cookie, and then she announced she was going to get some Danish butter cookies from her car. I gave a cheeky smile and then Amy came to me, and handed me an envelope. She told me, "I don't know exactly who it is from, but I think Mike sent it. I dunno. Your dad wanted me to be the one to give it to you; of course, it was mailed to YOUR house. So yeah."
I carefully opened the sealed envelope and pulled out a letter. I asked for my privacy, and I read it.
Bella,
I heard about the crash. Don't get yourself into trouble; you and I both know you enough.
-C
"C? What is that supposed- oh!" The initial at the bottom of the letter must of stood for... Chase? What was going on?
I felt afraid because supposedly Chase did not care for me anymore...
HOWEVER...
:here: Lavaster, don't discontinue it!
Well then, read below what YOU can do!
:here: I write excellent, good feedback-receiving fanfics. Can I continue "Destiny" for you?
Sure! Do what you will with my characters, except do NOT post this story elsewhere, especially on fanfiction.net. Heck, you can even make them kill each other off or have kids!
