Hello all, I hate it when my first post is to ask for help, I'm sorry about it.
I cloned a maxis basegame fridge, extracted and resized the uni minifridge mesh and imported it into the basegame clone. After learning to add placement bhavs and fixing slots, I solved all the problems except one: the door doesn't open. I attached a picture to show what I mean.
I went through some tutorials for retaining animations, but even when the basegame fridge had a ton of subsets, the minifridge only had one and honestly, the tutorial just confused me.

Thank you in advance for your help, and I'm sorry if I made a mistake, I really checked a lot of threads and I hope this was the appropiate section.

EDIT:
I animated the door, but now it unattaches while it's open.

Well, you have two options:

Option 1 - the easiest is to move the mesh forwards so that the door of your mini fridge is in the same place as the normal fridge door would be.

Option 2 - start fiddling around with the joint positions, little by little making sure to regularly backup the package.

Thank you so much buggybooz! I did try to change the joint positions like you showed before asking for help here, but I didn't know that part about rebuilding. Now it's been fixed.
Now I discovered that only the door is recolorable though, but I'm looking at some tutorials right now, so probably I won't need help on that subject.

Thanks again!

EDIT: Okay, I was wrong. Everytime I fix something, something else breaks.
Both subsets are recolorable, but the fridge's "body" reverts to default recolor when the object is used.
Here (http://i48.tinypic.com/2db6is7.jpg) is a picture with a test recolor I made

I'm also attaching the mesh file and the test recolor if anyone would like to check it out. I'm also aware the sim animation is not wroking so well, but I've been slowly fixing it by messing around with the CRES resource.
