I am having a problem with cloning these 2 objects.

ClutterTablePaperTowelRoll.package
SculptureWallMountedFish.package

I am doing a sort package like Sims MX. I make a default replacement package with the room and function changes. I test them to see if they sort the way I want. If they do then I export the OBJD and OBJK files and import them into my sort package.

The 2 objects above cause my game to lock up completely. I have to use Task Manager to shut down the game.

Here are the steps I took to find the problem.

1. Tested each file individually. They both cause the game to lock up at the same point.
2. Ran Delphy's Dashboard to check for corrupt files. There were none.
3. I emptied the cache files and tried them again with the same results.
4. Put those files in a separate folder.
5. Cloned the files again to reproduce the results. They were the same.
6. Ran Process Manager with files in the game.
7. Ran Process Manager with files not in the game for comparison. (by someone who has a better idea of what they are looking at)
8. Put those cloned files in another folder.
9. Cloned the files a third time without making any changes in case the changes themselves were causing the problem. These clones also locked up the game.

I am uploading the 3 sets of cloned files and both summary files from Process Monitor.

My operating system is Windows Vista 64 bit.

If there is any other information that I can give you please let me know.

I am going to continue with my sort project and I will make note of any other files that are a problem. :lovestruc

Grrr! Why don;t these reports come in during the QA test cycle? :)

What would be most helpful to us would be if you try these two objects in one or more previous versions. If there *is* a bug, knowing when it crept in is key to tracking it down.

Edit: I have just cloned the towel roll and my game is fine. I didn't edit it at all. You could also try testing immediately after cloning, before making any changes to it. That would isolate exactly *where* it is going wrong.

Inge, she already tested unaltered clones, test 9
I am curious wether there were any other packages in game.
Those two objects could very well be used by other creators to make a new mesh, and maybe altering the room sort etc for the base object causes the lock up??

I'll check that out right now.

I cloned both packages again with no changes and tested them with no other packages in the game.

ClutterTablePaperTowelRoll.package did not cause a problem.

SculptureWallMountedFish.package did cause the game to lock up.

Were any of the things that I uploaded helpful?

I have another new unrelated issue with my game. The Sims UI for selected Sim does not expand. I think my game may have become corrupted by having to use Task Manager so many times to shut it down. I am going to reinstall my game. When that is done I would be happy to try cloning using previous versions. I should be able to do that sometime this afternoon. :lovestruc

I will try the fish now. I only tried the towel roll before.

Good news for you!! I removed anything having to do with Magic Skill and magical objects and the fish doesn't lock up the game:!:
I will let Kolipoki know about the problem with his mod.

Bad news for me. The Sim panels still won't expand. So I still have to reinstall. At least it will give me something I can do with out hurting broken hand.
