I would like not to conclude that pljones is just being mean, but I am still getting the same error message. And my thread is still locked. I am getting absolutely no help.
My version is now 1003-06-1044 which according to the thread he posted is the latest stable release.
pljones, if you delete this thread, I will actually complain because I think you are actually being very rude. It's really easy to totally dismiss someone when you can't see them face-to-face, but that was the first thing I was taught not to do when I started posting on forums.

You're too advanced a user to be on the public release. You really need to be keeping up with, and posting on, the QA threads. Bear in mind after any EP or patch there is going to be a period of time when s3pe hasn't fully caught up, and during this time there may be many releases per week or even day.
It would be appreciated if therefore you would always check for a new QA release before posting a bug report, and always make sure your report is relevant to the latest QA release.
This doesn't apply to more casual users, from whom we will be happy to hear feedback about the current stable release. Though at the moment they will probably be told, "Sorry, s3pe is not yet compatible with June's patch and EP".

And also post bug reports about the QA builds in the right place.
Not following simple instructions is a complete waste of my time and I find it very rude. On the verge of trolling.

As far as I'm concerned, it wasn't a bug report, it was a problem with a tool that I'm not an expert about. I am not an advanced user. I use it only as far as I was told how to use it in the tutorial about core modding. I wouldn't post a bug report because I assume that I'm probably doing something wrong. That was all I was asking.
However, instead my thread was closed before the problem was solved. I then posted another thread saying what version I had, and that was also closed. I feel that you are actually being really unfair.
I tried to post all the error details and I checked before I posted that my game was updated. I have reinstalled my game tonight prior to posting. I have reinstalled s3pe tonight, prior to posting. And no, I admit that I didn't go into QA Testing, because I didn't know what it was, and in any case I don't think I'm ready to be testing cutting edge tools.
Surely you deal with hundreds of people of varying levels of expertise and I'm not really sure why you would take such an exception to me, when I have tried to be polite and have generally prepared.

I'm sorry, I don't think you're using the word "unfair" correctly as it requires you to understand both sides of a problem.
You're expectation is that a tool that was written without knowledge of EA's plans would work immediately they released a change. That seems unfair to me.
You're expectation is further that a tool released three months before the latest EP, that has worked up until the latest EP, would work. That doesn't just seem unfair, it seems... well, I can't understand how someone would not think that the EP had made the version of the tool out of date.
You're expectation goes beyond that to the extent you want to use a "stable version" when you've been directed to read about a QA release that explicitly talks about support for the EP that caused you problems. Now we're straying well past "fair", I would say.
Yes, I take exception to such behaviour because it borders on loutishness in my view.

Yes, I understand that, and I'm sorry if you think that I was expecting you to change the tool so fast. I just wish you could have said straight away that it was a problem with the patch and then it would have been totally clear. I was actually using an older version of s3pe and it opened the packages correctly (or without an error message, anyway). Therefore I thought that perhaps the format of the packages had not changed very much.
I'm sorry, I am getting upset because I only want to create one really small mod, and that's the only one that I use but I feel that I can't play the game until it's done. I honestly just wanted to know what was going wrong...
But for future reference, what was the behaviour which was loutish/trollish? Don't get offended, I just want to understand because I didn't think I had implied that you were responsible for the tool not working/being updated and I won't really be able to prevent it happening in the future if I don't exactly understand where I went wrong.

Well let's get back on topic. I somehow assumed that anyone who is gonna be fiddling with the assemblies is an advanced user! Ok if you're not, then please wait for the next public release, when this issue should be fixed. If there is still a problem at that point, please post again :)
