My recolors of the NuMica table have seams showing from a distance or at a certain angle and I don't have a clue why--the pattern tiles and up close no seams show. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it?

Ok, my eyes are not as sharp as they used to be and I can't see any obvious seams.

It does happen sometimes though and it tends to be how the object was uv mapped. There isn't really a fix and you have done nothing wrong.

Thanks for replying, buggybooz. Sorry about the pictures--it's really noticeable in game to the point the thumbnails actually show the seams (table top is sectioned into 4 quadrants and the seams forms a cross in a lighter shade of blue). I downloaded some recolors that plasticbox did though to see how theirs looked in game and they're perfect so I'm still hoping someone can tell me how to get better results.

I don't have TS2 anymore so I can't help you with your problem directly, but please feel free to recycle my textures if you want. I think I must have posted a psd template of that table in that templates section .. somewhere (Link is probably in the upload thread). Looking at that might also help you to figure out why mine seem to work better.

e: No link in the upload thread, but the template is here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=35675

Thank you! And thanks for taking the time to try and help me. Except I'm still doing something wrong. I used your template (which shows the table edge the RC Wizard's doesn't so I'm pretty sure those are the black lines) and just bucket filled in the color, exported as png (using GIMP) and now you can clearly see the lines that were just showing up at a distance before--which I rather like, btw. But maybe someone can see what I'm doing wrong now?

Does your seamless texture have a different colour around the edge?

When you import a texture image, SimPE will produce resized versions of that image for each of the different zoom levels. If your fill just touches the edge of the markers in the UV map, then sometimes when SimPE makes the zoomed out versions some of the white (or other colours) from around the edge bleeds in creating seams.

If that's the case and there is white around your texture in the image, try filling that white background with a colour close to the rest of your texture. It'll make any resize-related bleeding pretty much unnoticeable. :)

It's just a 128x128 block of color really (not the template I used w/ black lines) that I'm using that's doing this. In fact I used the same textures to recolor the mini disco table instead and they look perfect--no lines. So I don't think it's the textures specifically but since plasticbox's tables are perfect even if it's the way the table is mapped I must being missing something that someone who knows what their doing does as a matter of course.

Thanks for the information, Echo. I'll keep reading these forums and hopefully come across something that'll give me an idea of what to try next but I've moved onto trying to add subsets that's failing spectacularly so that's taking up most of my trial and error time. :D
