Thank you all for your comments. I have the general outline of Melissa's life all planned out in advance, but I don't want to spoil the story for you, Malakaaz. However, I will say that this is a biographical story - it follows Melissa's entire life, from birth until death. And like every human life, hers will be populated with moments of unbridled joy, as well as times of crushing tragedy.

But for now, let's focus on one of those moments of unbridled joy, shall we? Here's the longest update yet. Enjoy! :-)

P.S. I can't foresee this coming up in the story any time soon, so I'll just tell you guys that Melissa was born in 1950, so she's 10 years old now.

I didn't mean to give the impression that he's an a-hole; they've been best friends since they were very young, and he's nervous/shy about trying to become more than friends. And, of course, he's afraid of rejection, just as I was at that age. But I suppose my disjointed narrative leaves much room for such interpretation, and I certainly won't discourage you from drawing that conclusion.

Anyway, I just made a major update to the thread (depending on your point of view): I've changed the title of every chapter to reflect the progression of time. Every chapter now includes the month and year during which that chapter takes place. This is based on a rough timeline that I created. Apparently, I've already covered 15 years. Yikes.

I love this story so far. I'm not normally into graphic novels, but the pictures and the stories of this are so good that I'm really enjoying it. I can see you're paying attention to the clothes they're wearing to make the time setting seem authentic, and the effects on the pictures are great. It will be interesting to see how Melissa's life progresses over the years and how it eventually turns out in the end. I can't wait for more. :)

Thank you for the comments, everyone. Actually, I'm not going TOO far out of my way to make the clothing accurate - I'm just trying to stay close to the time period. And I included the Righteous Brothers' "Unchained Melody" in the 1964 chapter, despite that it wasn't recorded until 1965, so I'm really not splitting hairs. Major historical events will occur at the proper time, though, and will sometimes have a momentous impact on Melissa's life.

Anyway, here's a new chapter. I was really eager to write this one. :giggler:

God you're good at cliff hangers, specially the last one. I haven't read a good story in over a couple months and this was just...amazing(Add sparkles here). But really, the atmosphere of the houses, the characters everything was fabulously written. If you are into novels you should try and publish a novel with this plot line and characters. This would be amazing to read in paragraph form. But the sims just made it awesome especially since you added the cartoon style to it, making it look better than it normally would. I give you 10 out of 10 with this...I do hope you get through the break up fine*insert bright heart warming smile here* :) . But really it was absolutely incredible and now you are up there with another of my favourite authors of non-published works :gjob: . Not many people get up there so, excellent for you!!! Oh man, I was reading it for about 2 hours and I can't regret the time I spend with it! I'm SO amazed!
It's cute, really. I like the way you're remaking photos and I'm admiring you for the realism. I mean the photos suit well to the time when story takes place.
I have never learned French (and I'm not going to do so, huh) so if you would write down the translation of the next chapter, I'd be thankful :)
What can I say about characters is... Hm, Farrah's feelings life is so complicated and sophisticated as well! I think that she'll consider her decision of marrying Charles and leaving Sally. I have to admit that Farrah did wrong leaving her "friend" (because of all time they spent together) but I'm more-less conservative girl who thinks that a woman should be with man :) But I wish her all the best anyway, no matter what she will finally do.
And after reading about Melissa's childhood spent with Nathan I felt sorry because ot the fact they aren't a couple :( And now it's a little to late I think... But we will see ;)

@Liv94: Whenever someone is speaking French in this story, they're usually either saying something trivial that has no bearing on the story (like when Farrah and Melissa are practicing ballet), or saying something really dirty that I wouldn't be able to write in English on a site like this. And I don't speak or write French either - I just cheated and used babelfish, so those dialog lines may not even be grammatically correct.

Ah, Melissa, why AGAIN?!
She's slowly becoming (or she finally did...) worse than her mother! Making love with everyone she mets?! I know - she were angry with Craig (every girl/woman would be when she sees loved one kissing/being kissed by/whatever somebody else), but it IS going insane! I think that if Melissa got pregnant, she would CONSIDER before she does something! I don't wish her having the same life as her mom had of course. She isn't stupid, so why does she behave like she is?
And I wish all the best for Charles and Farrah :) Hope their marriage will be happy and lasting forever :)

It's nice to know that she has a talent after her dad (or Charlie as she calls ;) but I think one day she'll stop :D). Maybe her dad would help her in developing her skills or even a painter career? He's sure to know a lot of proffesionalls who can make Melissa one of them. Having contact with influencing ones is the way to start a real career nowadays and although photo-story takes place 40 years ago, there's no change imo (some things will never change and sometimes it's sad ;[)

Forgive me for my horrible memory, but what ever happened to that sweet Black haired boy? Hmm... Anywho heres my opinion of what will happen: Melissa will get possibly get Pregnant (Or a pregnancy scare) From that Patrick boy. This summer romance may not work out all that well and end up her heartbroken. That lovely black haired boy from her childhood will confort her and they will get together. And if she did have a kid with that Patrick fellow he'd be supportive. I may have possibly over thought this storyline a tad... and ALSO the Mum could possibly get sick/die in childbirth due to 1. It's the 60's and 2. She is 40 I bet 1of these will come true! LOVIN THE UPDATES. I'm sorry. I did say that Farrah wouldn't die in childbirth, and technically she didn't. She wasn't due for another two months. Her death was pregnancy-related, but not childbirth-related. If I misled anyone, it was to ensure that this scene had as much of an emotional impact as possible.

This scene was very hard for me to do. I've grown somewhat attached to the character, and sitting there doing nothing while she lay dying of hunger... well, it was tough.

And in moments like this one in most of the stories the next chaper would be about a girl finding out her pregnancy and later, than the father of the child won't return because of something :)
You may use this idea but then the story would become too predictable.
