Ok I sort of adapted and combined the perfect mother challenge, the orphanage challenge, and added some spice! I'm currently playing this right now and holy poo is it hard, but so worth it.
UPDATE!!!! Natalis has a gorgeous nun's habit and robe over here (http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/details/category/sims3-sets-clothing-female/title/-free-natalis-nuns-outfit-fa-ya/id/1065243/ ) at TSR. Thanks Natalis for making this challenge more awesome! Also, there are a lot of 'church' community lots posted there for a Sunday hangout. Enjoy!
So, first you must create your nun.In CAS, make a YA female, pick some black and white clothing, and name her Mother Superior (first: mother last: superior). This is the beginning of your not biological 'legacy'.
She must have at least two of these traits:
Neat
Natural Cook
Friendly
Shy (LN only)
Family Oriented
Frugal
Nurturing (GEN only)
She must have these traits:
Never Nude
Good
Now move her in and build your house! Her bedroom must be in the nursery and you must have bedrooms for the older children. You must have a garden; this is your only source of food for cooking. All meals will come from here. No grocery shopping. Other than that, go bananas! Use cheats! Use moveobjects on! Do whatever you like! JUST REMEMBER there is very little opportunity for you to make money...so you might want to keept it modest so your bills aren't too high, unless you're a masochist or something.
Add your orphans! Ok, so basically you run around town and visit families with kids and use testingcheatsenabled true, shift click on the child, and add them to your family. Rules: 1. You can only take children from families who are not rich. You're a nun and must help the poor. 2. Unless you have awesomemod, twallan's mods, or something else: you are limited to 7 children and must pick the poorest ones first. 3. Try and keep up with babies, 'adopt' babies as soon as they're born. (you should have room for them..it's hard finding not rich sim kids depending on your neighborhood) 4. Orphans move out the day they reach YA status.
Daily life:Every day you must cook, clean, garden, and take care of the kids. Help them with their homework. Encourage friendships. Keep them happy as much as possible.
Every Sunday, take the family to a community church (there are tons of 'church' lots around...pick one) and spend the day there. You must also donate at least 100$ to a charity from your mailbox. For an extra challenge: don't click on any of the child portraits. Just keep it on your nun and anticipate their needs. ;). Any visitors to your lot should be invited inside and fed. You accept everyone. Also, remember to keep up with the garden. It makes food cheaper. Don't forget it is possible to ask children to clean, do homework, sleep, and teens can garden and fix things. Use your asking for things wisely.
Money:As a nun, you are also responsibly for churchly duties such as working at the Mausoleum. It's a night job, so provided you have at least one teenager, you don't have to hire a babysitter and can still work. This should be your only income. You will end up with teenagers, but they cannot work.
EDIT: LilyXD has made a fantastic Preacher career (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=428999) that is a fantastic money option for your nun! I love it!
The Next Generation: Once your nun starts getting close to elder, it's time to choose her successor. One of the female children must be chosen to be the next nun. Find a child with at least one of the required traits (or make sure she ages up well and choose them for her) and dress her in the black. She is the only child allowed to remain in the house when she ages to adult. Then, take her to city hall and change her name to Sister-whatever. You may now control her. For every nun that dies, bury her on the lot somewhere and befriend her ghost.
Play as long as you can stand it, or until 7 nuns have operated the orphanage/abbey. If the social worker takes your children, you have obviously failed.
GENERATIONS UPDATE!!! (optional fun bits inspired by new gen features)
Moods: Since teenage sims now have mood swings, as a nun, it is your job to make them 'pray' until the mood swing is over. Example, does you abbey have a library? an altar? Now you just force the teenage sim in question to read (ahem pray) or study for the entire duration of the mood swing.
Prom: Only good orphan sims who study hard can go to prom. Your teen sim must stay home unless they have a B or better in school.
Imaginary Friends: No imaginary friend potion. It's voodoo and your nun wouldn't allow this.
PDA: nuns are terribly offended by public displays of affection. if you catch your teen sims doing more than hugging, scold them.
Afterschool activites: Only wholesome activities allowed such as study group, debate and music.
Boarding School: obviously as this makes your children cared for...it's kinda cheating to send them to boarding school.
Graduation: Yes, YA sims can live in the orphanage until they graduate...then you kick them out!
Daycare: bonus points if your nun can be a daycare professional. +30 for every level she makes.
SHOWTIME/PETS UPDATES!!!
You should feed all stray animals that come on your lot. This means maintaining food bowls and hay at all times. +15 for every adopted stray animal.
Adopted animals who hunt and obtain objects are cheating for extra money. Even the animals don't steal! Release any caught wildlife and 'lose' gems/metals.
Supporting the arts is a good idea...except for those magician. It's voodoo! Attend SimFests and cheer performers. Leave if a magician shows up.
Hosting through SimPort is a great way to feed those extra hungry travelers! +5 for well cared for simport travelers.
