Do townies gain celebrity stars?

I have been trying to figure out why my town population of celebrities has died off. After I was left with only my own family as celebrities I went around and made a few level 1 celebrities, expecting they would eventually rise in star level on their own if I befriended them etc.

But after a whole generation has gone by they are all still level 1 and about to die off as well. And when I check their celebrity points via twallan's master controller they haven't risen at all.

I read different reports on celebrities, some people getting them, some not getting them at all ( like me).

I also read somewhere that one of twallan's mods turns off celebrity gain for townies by default, but then searching through the notes on the ones I have installed I don't find any mention of that... so I'm left wondering what's going on.

It is most likely Twallan's mod, because I remember playing Bridgeport without a story progression mod and I had townies becoming celebrities.

You should ask about Twallan's Mod over at TSCE where the mod is located. He diligently lists what his mods do so you can check what you have against the listings over there. Here's the home page for the site: http://ts3.tscexchange.com/

Well I did check the notes on his mods already and didn't find any mention of this type of function. But I guess I'll go ask there. I thought perhaps it was something else.

Basically, you can work around this with MC, but "phase 8" of story progression will address this directly.

Well all that was mentioned there was the ability to edit townies celebrity level manually. So it seems Twallan's SP might turn off celebrity gain without any option to turn it back on. Hoping for the next version to come quickly.

I dont have any of Twallan's mods but any celebrity in my town (other than my family) who are level 2 or more are either a few original townies left and are now about to die or turned into vampires or were originally vampires themselves. Any new and young celebs are all 1 star and havent progressed since then... :/
