I have begun some time ago to make this YouTuber, but I feel that there's a lot of work left to do. Here're some pics:

It's a good first start, the head needs to be rounder and wider, especially at the chin.v

Alright, I changed his hair colour to brown, adjusted the width of the face tweaked the nose a little bit and changed his eyebrows:

Lookin good. The eyebrows need to be a little shorter and more curved upwards. :gjob:

I just came here from one of his videos, and I must say it's a great start! Same tips that the others said, though.

Okay, I tweaked his eyebrows:

"That's a Win. That's a Toby Turner Sim Making Win. Roll the next clip Steven!"
I had to say that lol!
I would say make his nostrils and head a tiny bit wider, and then maybe find some Natural Lipstick to make his lips a little pinker?
And can you find any other type of hair for him? The one you are using is a bit off, and I'm sure there are some better ones lurking around :P
Really great job though!

Lol, Guysim! Bless yo' face! ;)
Okay, adjusted the face and the nose, changed the hair and put on some lipstick:

I think his eyes are very recognizable. I know how hard it is to make eyes in TS2 aswell. Good job. The one thing I can see that's a bit off is his eyebrows. They should be a bit more bushy and less shaped.
Check out some of these:

Also could you add a side-by-side comparison in the next update. Makes it easier to notice the small details :)

I agree with Malfoya, a side-by-side picture would be awfully helpful :)
Anyway, looking at that BS pics, I can suggest this, so far:
- Try making the face shorter
- Irises smaller
- Eyes squinter
- The chin should be shorter, thinner and not as squared
- That skin doesn't look good on him, at all. It's too dark and doll-ish looking, IMHO.
- Lips not as thin
- Different eyebrows, as Malfoya already suggested.
It's a pretty good start you have there! :)

TOBUSCUS!
How about a side-by-side picture so we can compare better? So far as I can compare now, he looks pretty good:)

How do I make a side-by-side picture? Sorry, I'm a real noob when it comes to photoshopping...

I will use your first and last picture in post number to illustrate this.
The first picture has a dimension of 367x450
http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/adonispluto1/Kay/Untitled2.jpg
The last picture has 600x450.
http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/adonispluto1/Kay/Untitled3.jpg
So depending on the one you want to use first then you can make both lie side by side.
So, I take the first picture as my base. because i want it side by side, create a new picture but with double the width of the base picture you want to use but with the height constant since you want them side by side. So for the 367x450 picture, create a new image with dimension double the width (367*2=734) so that the dimension is 734x450.
http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/adonispluto1/New%20one/empty.jpg
Then copy the first picture which is the base into the new image you created and this will automatically fall into place if not you can move it to one side since it will occupy half of the image.
http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/adonispluto1/New%20one/one.jpg
Then for the next picture, resize it to that of the base picture that you just placed. That is resize the last picture (650x450) to 375x450. then copy it and place on the new image you created. when you do that it will fall on top of the initial picture
http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/adonispluto1/New%20one/two.jpg
then move it to the right to occupy the other half of the image.
http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/adonispluto1/Kay/Untitled1.jpg
You can also do it the opposite way using that last picture as the base and then resizing the other to fit in. So if the last picture is used as the base, then the new image will be 1200x450 meaning you have to resize the first picture to 650x450.
http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/adonispluto1/Kay/Untitled.jpg
I hope this helps

Is there any way I can make the pics look normal and not as oblate?
Johnny_Bravo
24th Mar 2011, 09:24 PM
You could cut the sides of the Sim-picture But so we can still the face to get a fitting size for the first picture. I think, I'm not really sure about that that one, if you try it, I would save it as a copy.
Hope you understood.

So, because the one picture is 367x450 and the other 600x450
I would make the size to 367+600 = 937x450 pixel.
(If they're not the same high, I would take the bigger size)
In my opinion it's not bad if there's no 100% fitting. One picture can be smaller, the other one bigger.
Important is: Both next to each other and clear. No stretching. Imho that confuses.
Do you have Photoshop or Gimp?
Should be similar... so open all three pictures,
your sim, the photo and the 937x450 Pictureholderpicture ;)
With a arrowcursor in Photoshop you can click on the first picture (photo or sim) and drag & drop it onto your pictureholderpicture.
Do this anothertime with the left image. Now you can move them with the same tool in Photoshop on you pictureholderpicture...
Well hope this helps.

Don't think about size or maths, just use photoshop (or paint if you prefer), copy and paste the two pics into the same post. Do a little clipping, place them side-by-side then voilla :) Pretty much the most basics you can do in a computer program. Actually using photobucket is harder, so I bet you figure this one out :)
.. sorry for being so straight forward, but you don't need to think about numbers in this forum as there's no limit on the pic size. As long as we see it though :)

Actually, I think there is a 600x400 pic limit and it will resize it to fit in the post. Not sure though..
So to save all the trouble and math I did it for you. :)

Well that was an illustration, but you can always cut and paste into a new image the different pictures that you need and then arrange

The thing is, when you are making comparison shots, you can not stretch the image to fit. It distorts it and will then change the final look you are trying to achieve. With the picture I posted, I resized, but only the overall scale, meaning I made the whole picture smaller without changing the shape.
No offence, but you all are making it waaaaay too complicated. When you open it in Photoshop, (this should apply in other programs as well, I just haven't try it) you hold down teh shift button while resizing so that it doesn't get distorted. You also should make sure your sim and the person you are simming are roughly the same size. In my picture, sim Toby is a bit larger, which I didn't until now.

Exactly. Was wondering about all the size-talk. Guess this is why I can never teach people about computers, since I take so much stuff for granted.

Maybe you could rather use the pic from the first post? Since he looks straight into the camera it's much easier to compare the nose etc :)

I think the sim image on the right is a bit rotated because I tried doing a line comparison and everything is close by off because of a rotation in the sim. Try going more straight on, if you can.
Rawra
28th Mar 2011, 09:17 AM
No, neither of them is rotated, I copy-pasted both of them on a base image, without making any additional modifications.

His head needs to be a bit wider from what I can see, and how about some in-game pics too because I'm a bit unsure about the skin ;)

If you make his nose shorter you can move the mouth and chin upwards and his head will seem wider. And am still not fond of the eyebrows. They look a bit too maxis like.
Try some of these: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=286253 To make a sim guy I feel he needs the right kind of hair and facial hair, as sim men tends to look a bit to feminine usually :)
