Hey MTS3.

Not been around in a while. Finally got around to ordering Late Night and Outdoor Stuff, and have continued my old family that sprung fromt he base game and the Grim Reaper.

Somewere along the line I OMG'ed an elder sim from the family, Zelda Mae. However, it was just a test and I didn't want her hanging around, so I evicted the ghost. Well, she has been hovering around my town for two enerations now and is even in a relationship with a married woman, and owns one of the bigger houses all to herself.

I decided that I liked having a ghost wandering the town and wanted to get rid of her. That way I could ahve one of the Sims I actually liked take her role. Before realising I could just use 'Edit Town' to outright delete her I merged her with my main family and looked for her gravestone to 'Return to the Netherworld'.

It wasn't there. She just had a radio, book, and other misc item.

I then 'testingcheatsenabled' her down to all red in every stat. She was absolutely fine and just wanted to go have a bite to eat, even though she should just have keeled over/'died again'.

I checked her age, and on epic she was something like 1,122 days old. No mention of her being unable to stay much longer.

I was under the impression that ghosts 'ressurected' by 'Oh My Ghost!' were limited in how long they could stick around without eating Ambrosia? Even then, I thought 'born' Ghosts still aged up and then 'died' like any other sim? She was just an Elder who was brought back via OMG.

I deleted her in the end - but what on earth could have caused this? Just her lack of a gravestone? I really want to replicate it. It would be cool to have a permenant spectre around.

Well, I am fairly certain that ghosts are immortal. Lacking a gravestone could have done that, but I think the sim would disappear with the urn.

i thought that when the gravestone is deleted, the ghost disappears. her gravestone might be in the cemetery, though.

This sounds like a glitch because a resurrected ghost should always carry their gravestone with them unless the player has removed it from their inventory and placed it somewhere else.
And unless you have aging disabled for ghosts (with AwesomeMod, for example) they should age like any other Sim but it seems that the lack of a gravestone prevents them from dying again.

Nope, no Awesome Mod or placing of gravestones. And since the ghost was 1,200ish and the longest i've had a live Sim live for is 990 at most, it should have returned to the nether.

Anyone else have any insight?

So far its certainly seeming like an (awesome) glitch that I really need to try and replicate.

1,200 on epic is not that unususal, btw. DeAndre Wolfe in Twinbrook would have outlived his own children if I hadn't pulled the plug in time.

I have that problem myself, actually. I always thought I was the only one. I resurrected one of my sim's mother's ghost, and then I kicked her out when I didn't want her around. Since then she's just been floating around town, switching houses every once in a while. It's really weird because about once every generation, I get the call that says she's not going to be around much longer and that I should say goodbye. But, nine generations later, she's still around...
