so im new to modding my sims and iv got pose player and a few others... but i was wondering is there a mod that allows you to do photoshooting sessions??? or do you make it yourself by building a wall with paint and having pose player near and gettinf your sim to pose and then taking a photo with the sims 3 game camera where it saves to the launcher??? or is this anything else that helps you out?

ALSO

you know when people upload their sims to the community..... how do they get their foto to be of a phott youve taken basically not of the one the sims 3 just uploads.... :) please help me out im dying to know these questions... also recommend me some cool mods :)

1. If you want to do a photoshoot you have to set it all up yourself. Make a set, get the sim to pose, and then take a picture.

2. Do you mean on the official The Sims 3 website aka the Exchange? If so, I have no idea as I don't use it.

You'll need to check the original download thread for support with individual mods - they should tell you how to use them. I've not used them yet either :)

First, "pose player" is an object that forces any sim using it to freeze in 1 position that was randomly designed to mimic something (which you might never see while playing the game normally).

Sims will stay in that post forever until you release them, hence you might end up killing them if they starve. It happens slowly as with normal sims, but these posed sims will not ask or complain, nor knowing how to find food themselves.

With moveobjects cheat on, you can position these "statues" however you like. You can use any lot as a set and take photo to your content.

There are 2 different kinds of photo shoot:

- Photo taken by player (you and me) by pressing C. What you see is what you get, minus the interface menu. I believe you can use this to upload onto Exchange.

- Photo taken by a Photographer sim with in game camera. These photos will not go into your launcher, but stay in sims' camera as objects. You can use these photos as to put on table (small photo only) or hang on walls.

Both of these photo shoots benefit a great deal from pose player.

And for how to use poses .... Pose player comes with a default set of poses (either an existing EA pose or made by Pose player creator). Creator also released an instruction showing people how to make their own poses, hence you see about half a million custom poses to download. Downloading custom poses puts these poses in the pose player library. Each pose comes with a name in which you have to enter in the part where pose player asked for name.

I don't know what pose pack you got, but I will take an example from Pool Pose Megapack (http://sims3.modthesims.info/download.php?t=443389) by traelia. If you enter a_traelia_Pool_5 your sim will assume the position of floating on water (even there is no water around). On the right of the screenshot is a_traelia_Pool_12 that makes any sim poses like water treading.

The pose names are listed on the descriptions of each pose pack. Simply inputing the name into pose player would not work if you don't install the pose pack (which goes to pose player library).

It is a bit complicated, but once you get used to it, photo session is extremely fun.

hey i got it iv been doing loadfs of posing sessions thanks i didnt realise you had to do the annoying job of writing in all the poses yourself!!! i dont get why you download these poses when you dont need them oh well!!

just the last burning question is..... how do you put lovely pictures on the exchange for the sims instead of having the boring picture of a sim that EA put there.... i want to upload a sim and have a nice thumbnaik pic not just a white background :(

There are already half a million of custom poses made by others out there. You can spend a whole day trying to test them all out. Some of them could fit your requirements, no? No need to "do the annoying job of writing the poses yourself" now.

You do have to download the poses you intend to use. Or else pose player will not understand your pose name and do nothing for you.

Sims Exchange only gave you default avatar icons, but now they let you upload your own sims to be your custom avatar icon. You need to share your sim, then upload via Launcher. From there, you have to consult the site's instruction on how to do the rest. Background .... last time I played with it, EA makes me earn those "background" for avatar pic. But I haven't visited the site for at least 1 month. I can tell you this, EA's Sims 3 site will not let you just upload any picture you want as avatar. I tried, there was no option.

To change the picture on an exchange upload you have to use some tool which allows you to switch out the default pic for whatever you want. I looked on my computer for it but I haven't uploaded to the exchange in forever so I don't have it. I'm not sure what it's called but I know that several people made similar programs.... Sorry that I can't be much more helpful then that, it's definitely possible though :)

I think that the OP meant typing in the pose name, not actually making the poses :)

There are also a bunch in-game, I think... here (https://spreadsheets.google.com/lv?key=0AilJQYZQ6fomdHAzUElqZjcyeGlQNzVVcWNKdHlQeVE&hl=en&authkey=CK2s-qsH). I think those are the right ones, tell us if they work for you or not!

This is the program you need to edit the pictures. What it does is open up the simpack, and then you can change the pics to whatever ones you want, as long as they fit the specified file size, etc. Then when you upload the simpack to you studio, you choose that sim as your avatar pic like normal.
