Install stops at specific data, no crc

Hello,
first: Sorry for my bad english, I'm german and try only to translate the issues the install haves.
second: The install I have problems with is Sims 3 - Pets. I can't find help on other sites, so you are my last chance ;)

The Problem:
Mainproblem is the data AppaloosaPlains.objectCache. The install stops here and the errorwindow says "Error at features transmission" and "Error: incorrect function" at the named data.

What I have tried:
- clean the disc
- shutdown all unnessacerie programs
- clean regristy
- reinstall Sims3
- Copy files to the hard drive (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Install#Copy_Install_Files_to_Your_Hard_Drive)
-> even DOS couldn't copy the data

I hope someone can help me because I am a little bit afraid of going to the shop where I bought the game and asking for a change. The employees of this store are... strange -.-

So, have checked for scratches and cleaned the surface and all that?

How much HDD space is left? Have you defragmented the harddrive?

Windows Explorer (don't do it in a DOS window, if that is what you meant) can't even read the Pets disc? Can it read other discs?
Do you have another PC or a friend's system to test install this Pets disc on?

Doing a search for "Error: incorrect function" returned some results you could try,
- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315350 states to check for the named recording software
- others advised to uninstall and reinstall the DVD disc drivers by disabling the device first in Device Manager
- more links and too numerous to list, but you should check them out.

If you register the key code on EA's site, you can download a digital copy via Origin, that's another avenue to try.

There are no scratches, the cd is cleaned the right way.
Nearly 500 GB left on computer (if you mean that with HDD). Hard Drive is defragmented.
The problem is only at this disc, but on another pc too - same builded.

Well, my Internet is not fast enough for downloading the game, but I will give back the dvd and order a new one. So i think this thread can be closed.
