Something wrong with Sims 3 Pets categories and Required EP's

Hi Delphy,

I think something is not set correctly for the Pets catgegorization. I was looking to see what new items were in the Sims 3 Pets section and My horse 'Bucky Runnerbeast' is not there in the downloads section, nor is it under ALL or Horses. The only pets visible on the download page is the Triune Dapple grey and Dogmeat.

Dogmeat has Pets as the required download but does not appear under the dogs or ALL areas. It only appears within the Featured section. Dogmeat has Pets as the required EP as does Bucky Runnerbeast.

Tirune appears under the Horses subsection and ALL but the required EP is base game, not Pets.

It seems that once a creator flags it as requiring Pets, that it disappears from the download view. Since I can only see 1 horse and the featured Dog, I have no idea how many other Sims3 Pets are available.

So I'd like my horse to reappear in the Sims 3 Pets section.

Has Delphy fixed this already, because I can see your horse under pets on page 2. :)

hmmm.. I don't know how you got that. Something is definitely screwy... How did you get there?

My steps.... At the MTS home page, I clicked the Downloads menu bar and selected Sims 3 I get this page...

I click PETS and get this page...

If I search for Sims3 Pets I get this.,

The only way I can see my horse is if I search on the name Bucky Or go to my profile page and click my favorites download link.

I have Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 7.0 and Chrome. None of them on 2 different machines will let me browse to the Sims 3 Pets section and find anything other that what is pictured. SO what browsers are you using and what steps did you take to reveal the runnerbeast?

A HA! If I REMOVE the PETS required option, it reappears in the Sims3 Pets section..... So, You can see it but I could not.

So Dee,. what browser are you using and how did you get there?

I notied that there is a difference in the breadcrumb trail

Yours = Downloads -> Sims3 -> All -> Pets

Mine = Downloads -> Sims3 -> Compatible -> Pets

I pick ALL but the breadcrumb displays as Compatible

I just go to Downloads/Sims 3/Pets, that's all. I always do it like that and never have a problem, I don't go by compatibility. I use Firefox.

I don't know why it says all after Sims 3, I just click on Download/Sims 3/pets, like I said. :)

You'll need to go and tick Pets as a game you have owned - some of the first few pets uploaded didn't have Pets ticked as we hadn't added the option yet. Or browse downloads to view all, not just compatible. :)

Who would have thought! I checked that I owned PETS and used the menu selection Downloads, Sims3, Pets and there they were! As a test, I unchecked it and just as mentioned above, no critters if they are designated as Sims 3 Pets.

It's interesting that the menu selection is controlled by the games I've ticked off as owning. I wonder how many others can't the Sims 3 Pets because they haven't ticked that box off yet...

Thanks HP! Now I can see what other creators have made. :gjob:

p.s. I didn't pick "Compatible" That comes up automatically using the menu path I mentioned above.

Yes, compatible is the default - we assume most people want to only see the things that they actually can use. I'm pretty sure that once you save the alternate options (like viewing all) it keeps your preference, though.
