View Full Version : Unable to upload lot with custom floors

When I try to upload my lot with custom floors, it fails with no obvious error message (see attached screenshot). I can upload the lot by itself and the custom floors by themselves, but I'd prefer to have them all together in the one Sims2Pack.

Here is the lot:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4SEVQK1V

Is there any way that I can upload this as one Sims2Pack?

Try and make sure the file is not defective. Use the Sims 2 Clean Installer to see if the package is empty, not working, invalid, etc. If this doesn't work then check it with the Sims PE. If this doesn't work, then try to PM a moderator for further help. Good Luck!

Hmm, Mootilda - I did see the query but I have left it for Delphy or whiterider to answer, I mean if I had a question about simpacks and custom floors I would probably be asking you. The only thing I can think of is maybe the entire name (lotname plus floor name) is longer than 255 characters?

No, they are significantly less than 255 characters. The file name is Moo_Floor-Concrete-Latte-Set.package. The floors are named things like "Latte" Concrete - Double-Sided; they are all fairly short strings.

The game has no problem with the floors, whether they're packaged with the lot or on their own. When I package the lot, the game correctly includes the floors in the Sims2Pack. The Clean Installer has no problem with the floors, whether they're packaged with the lot or on their own. ModTheSims has no problem with the floors when they're packaged separately, but hangs when they are included with the lot. The upload hangs even when I try to attach the lot to a normal post, rather than using the upload manager. This is definitely a site issue, not a CC issue.

I tried removing all of the dashes (-), but it made no difference. I tried separating the floors out into separate packages. I tried packaging just one of the floors with the lot, but the upload still hangs. I'm just stumped. I can't figure out why the website doesn't allow me to upload my lot with the floors included in the Sims2Pack, but will allow me to upload them separately.

I suspect this is an error in the custom DBPF code I have in the upload system (which triggers regardless of the upload wizard, hence why it also happens on a normal post), so it crashes while trying to read those files when packaged together. Could you possibly upload the file someplace else and I'll run some manual tests on it and see whats breaking it.

Do you mean somewhere other than the megaupload link in the first post? If so, then please tell me which site you'd prefer.

Just got back to this one - do you have a copy still? :)

I tried attaching the file here and got the following warnings:

However, the file appears to have been attached. I'm going to try downloading it to compare with the uploaded version, to see whether the warnings are irrelevant.

[Update:] Yes, the file that I downloaded is correct. Therefore, it would appear that this is now solved. Thank you!
