I know, I know, they are just pixels.. But their needs are dynamic!
So, anyways, I liked to think of the cat jungle/dog park as a spot for stray dogs/cats to relax, meet a sim- or pet-friend, sleep in cozy and safe environment and eat. The pinnocle road in my updated sunset valley is somewhat animal themed - the equestrian centre, horse rance, cat jungle, dog park and red stallion bar by Cameranutz2. The dog park is made by me as the pets one didn't fit in, so it has the store auto-nom feeding station and I'm thinking to add them to the cat jungle too as they need to be refilled to less often so it's likely that even if my sim doesn't goes to pinnocle road (my usual lot is where wollf's were residing, and I doubt I'm changing it) the strays have something to eat. So, question is in the title. Thanks in advance.

Well, in AP, the bowls do auto-fill in the dog park (never tried the cat park), but at the horse ranch/park, the bowls must be filled by sims.

I have more than one poor house for homeless sims with cat/ dog bowls and beds in case any homeless sims have pets or strays happen to come there.
I filled the bowls when I made the lot and they seem to stay filled. My sim also built a lot for the wild horses.
They go to the troughs but wont go into the barn or stalls for some reason - I've sat watching them to see how they'll behave.
I hate seeing sims and sim animals walking around with the "Starving" red hunger thought bubbles and the "dead tired" red sleepy thought bubbles so I've tried to make open visitors welcome places of refuge around town so that those that do not have homes have places to go and a way to be fed, shower, wash clothes, learn skills, and sleep. Unfortunately, I still see hungry and tired animals and sims in town, even though I make sure they have places to go.
In fact, when my sim checked on one of the poor houses last night, it was, for some reason, full of vampires.
There were no animals or normal sims on the lot.

Anyway, back to the point, I have to refill the bowls over at the ranch and on the lot for the wild animals, but not at the poor house. I don't know why.
