View Full Version : Filling a Parking Garage

I'm working on an area in my new custom world that involves a moderately-sized, multilevel parking garage on the same lot as a highrise apartment complex and some other objects. It's in an area very close to a second highrise complex on another lot, so I want to create the illusion that there's tons of people there by placing dummy cars in the parking garage.

The problem I have is that I can't simply grab random cars out of the Buy menu, because I'm afraid that whoever moves in will just be able to grab the cars and go, that the game may attempt to clean them up, or that they just might do something unexpected.

Is there a way to place "dummy cars", or make it so that players can't take the cars?

(For that matter, without the RestictBuildBuy cheat, can they even USE cars on the lot? I'm still including it either way, but I want it to be more for show.)

If you place them not on a parking spot, or with another object inside them any sims trying to use them might get that routing "angry stamping feet animation" and fail to use the car?
Just a suggestion, not even sure if it will work but might do?

He wants it to be an high rise apartment as well so I'm guessing he actually needs it to be a residential lot? But I am presuming here...

In the caw forum's they have threads with dedicated downloads for caw. I suggest you go there to look. I know there is a ferry set that contains deco cars to fit on the ferry.
