Sims 3 to Sims 2 Bike as Deco Conversion

Hey all.

So I've created objects for TS2 in the past, but I'm at the point where I want to learn how to get an object from TS3 to TS2 - namely, the adult bike. As a deco object. I've received some great advice and read a few tutorials, but there's always two hangups - one, being that when I click file, there is no "New (Clone) (legacy)" in sight. Just Open Package and Exit are clickable, the other two greyed out are Refresh and Close. I've looked in other places in the program for the bike model as well so I can clone it and extract it, but . . . no luck! I can't find it anywhere in s3oc, not under searching, not under the object lists, not. under. nothing. It's really frustrating for me, because I feel like I'm missing a big step here.

And when I use search with the word bicycle three bikes come up and I can click on the adult one and then clone it. I'm not sure how interested you are in working the problem out. If you aren't that interested I can send you the clone I just made. If you are interested, which version of s3oc are you using and what are you doing when you search?

Try the newest QA version of s3oc...I know the Search works in this one since I made that clone with it using that version. The search feature can take a little bit of time..are you waiting until the Search is completely finished or does it appear to be timing out?

The test version of s3oc is being temporarily hosted at Leefish's site since right now Simlogical is down with ISP issues. Here is the link:

EDIT: Wait wait wait wait wait . . . okay, got to the cloning a sims 2 object, but now . . . how do I import the sims 3 package file into milkshape? And how do I replace it? Every tutorial says something different and none of them work.

Thanks for the links! I am waiting for it to finish up, but it seems I'm on an older version as it didn't load anything past Pets. :) Thank you so very much.

EDIT: Wait wait wait wait wait . . . okay, got to the cloning a sims 2 object, but now . . . how do I import the sims 3 package file into milkshape? And how do I replace it? Every tutorial says something different and none of them work.Open the .package I sent you in s3pe. Put a check mark in the Sort box at the bottom left of the screen...it's in the grey part. Then click Name at the top to get everything sorted by name.

Once you've done that find the MLOD that has a group number of 0x00000000. If you have things sorted how I described above it should be the first MLOD in the list. Right click on that and export to s3asc. Import that into MS and save it as a .obj.

You might also want to export the third IMG on the list to use to texture the bike.

To import the s3asc in MS you'll need the current version of the MS plugins Wes made...he has them stickied at the top of this forum.
