When I save and quit my Sims 3 Showtime I get an error message from Windows saying Sims 3 has stopped working. The trouble is, it hasn't stopped working. It is working fine and saves correctly. The problem is, how do I get rid of the error message, which is, it seems, an error.

The error pops up only when saving the game with the Save and Quit, each and every time, or random times? How about the Save and Save As command?
Can the Save game then be loaded when the game is next started?
Once the error pops up, does clicking Yes brings you back to Desktop, with the Save completed successfully (the CurrentGame.sims3 folder emptied and the contents moved to a folder under Saves with the filename you specifified) or the game hangs and does not quit?
Do you remember if you had Windows Explorer opened to the \Docs\EA\TS3\ path at the time of saving?

For background information, what patch version is the base game on, and how did you reach this version? I'm trying to determine if you ever had 1.32 patch installed...or was successfully removed?

Thanks for taking time to reply, but I seem to have solved this error myself. I simply went through all my custom content and got rid of a lot that I never use. I then changed all my Sims 3 packs which are objects into packages and the error has gone.
