I am trying to open Bodyshop for a house I downloaded which requires the same expansion packs I have. I did everything in the guide that it told me to, and I extracted the file. I don't see anywhere on this site where it really explains what a simpack is. I see a file over the one I extracted, and I noticed the icon looks similar so I thought it might be this file. Then a box that says the link and "The specifed path does not exist. Check the path, and try again."

Does anyone know what the problem might be?
Much appreciated.

Well for starters, you don't need to touch Bodyshop at all for houses. Sims2pack files are basically a group of package files all in one. Very handy for houses and sims which often have more than one file included. Double-clicking them should bring up the default installer that came with the game, which is pretty rubbish, but does the basic job. But from the error message you posted, it looks like your computer can't find the installer, so I'll start by recommending that you download Clean Installer. Once installed, double-click your sims2pack files. It'll bring up a screen of all the files included in the house. You can uncheck anything you don't want to install here. Don't change the directory it wants to install to (which should be a folder called Teleport). Hit enter a few times and it'll install your house. Then next time you run the game, the house should be available in the lots bin.

Sorry, I forgot to say that the error message pops up when I double click on the simpack. The files included in the house never pop up. Which I believe is the file above the file I extracted? But maybe I'm wrong. The icon next to the file is similar but I don't believe it's the same as in the guide.

The simplest solution, as was mentioned, is to download and install the Clean Installer, which you can use instead of the bodyshop installer: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=409950 - once you've installed it, the file icon will change, and you can install by double-clicking.

In that case, try right-clicking the sims2pack and going Open with -> Sims2Pack Clean Installer.

By the way, you can tell whether or not a file is a sims2pack by either hovering your mouse over it, selecting it and looking at the bottom of the folder window, or right-clicking the file and hitting Properties. :)
