View Full Version : Removing existing sims when editing a premade world

I've used the search tool but to no avail (guess that would be for my word choice, or whatever)

Thing is, I'm messing with CAW as always, slowly and learning, and somehow I ended editing a premade world that I actually like where it is going. Now the problem:

I already deleted all the lots and started placing my own... There are no residential lots yet, just some community as I edit terrain paint, trees and such... But when I zoomed close to pain, to my horror I saw like twenty sims standing there where the lots had been

I tried the Edit in Game and looked for a cheat to get rid of them, but I have no idea of how to do it. I'd hate to go back and start all over again, but if that's what it's needed, well... I guess I'll have to do it. But if there's some quicker way, I'd love to know. Help?

I would use awesomemod's DestroyAllHumans console command, or Twallan's Total Annihilation. If those don't remove the sims, something is very wrong.

Also, a visual representation of the sims doesn't *necessarily* mean they're still there. Use Master Controller's demographics to check if there are Sims in the world.

Thanks for the reply, I just have some doubts.

Using Twallan's mods imply I would have to export my world, use them, and then open it back in CAW? I am still messing with it in CAW at the moment. Or placing a City hall in CAW Edit in Game option would be a solution? I mean, going to Edit in game, placing a City Hall, then back to aerial view and clicking on it. Twallan's mods would work?

And then the noob question: which of the Twallan's mods have that option? Master Controller? I never found that option, but I can look into it further, I guess...

Hi there,

you might want to have a look at the thread concerning cleaning the global layer I just posted. If you do that, you can delete Sims and lots without any problems right in CAW.

That's it exactly.

Using Master Controller type in makesim in the cheat console, then click on City Hall/NRass/Town/Total Annihilation. This leaves you with one sim, but I've never had a problem with it since it's homeless.

If you have to place the city hall, you might have to save first, then go back to it.

I tried this once, but it didn't work for me, but I haven't read your thread yet. It'd be cool if you got it to work.

auntielynds, would you report back once you tried again? For me, it's working just fine, and it's great to be able to get rid of everything one wants to get rid of without having to fiddle with EIG (and experience all those random crashes, strange failure pop-ups and the likes ...) ;-)
