I just came across this site.

I was reading one of my friends comments on the Sims 3 Community. She was talking about mods. She had posted where to go to find out more about them, however it does not say how to install a mod. Can anyone give me more information please. The mods look cool, however I do not want to mess anything up. For instance, my daughter who is seven, I got her into playing. She stayed home from school today, sick and played just about all day. Anyway, she wants to have more animals, however she is unable to because she already is at the max number of sims that she is allowed to have in her household. I saw a mod that can over write it. So, can someone please help me with this.

Thank you in advance,

E

One more question, can anyone tell me more about this site. If I see something that someone created, how do I go about downloading it into my game? Is it like downloading content from the EA Sims 3 Community? It will go straight into my Sims 3 Launcher? Or do I have to do something special?

I really do appreciate any help that I can get.

Thanks again,

E

Wrong place! I'll help you anyway.

1. After the file has downloaded extract the contents with 7zip or another similar program.

2. Copy the .package file into your C/Users/[YourNameHere]/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages folder.

3. All done!

Hi ReelGirlsFish - welcome to MTS! I'm glad you're enjoying the game! And I hope your little one is feeling better soon. :)

To download .package format custom content (which includes things like the mod you want), you'll need to get a program that can open rar/zip/7z files, and then download one thing to get your game set up properly. This is explained here: Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files and has a link to the FrameworkSetup.zip file you'll need.
