View Full Version : Problem with chairs

I'm having a couple of issues with chairs in my game.

First issue; my sims seem to glitch when trying to sit down and sit IN the chairs instead of on them. I've attached a picture to help explain it. This issue has happened in two different houses, in 2 different worlds and with different sims, so it's nothing to do with a glitchy house or world.

Second issue is I can't place dining chairs around a table. If I put the table down first and try to place chairs around it, they snap to inside the middle of the table. I've tried placing the dining chairs first, then placing the table but my sims just stamp their feet and wave their arms at me. Again, this same problem has happened in different houses and different worlds.

I've attached a few screenshots from the game to show the problems more clearly.

I haven't got a clue what's causing this issue. The only mod I have is Nraas - MasterController.

This is a common problem with CC made prior to the 1.26 patch. Google "sims 3 rigfix" for a tool you can use to fix your custom items yourself (doesn't work with beds and bathtubs though) or see if the creator has made a fixed version you can download.

Thanks.

I googled it and clicked on the first site which is this: http://sims3.the-prof.net/. Is that the right site? If it is, it's not working. It just keeps coming up with a 'the connection has timed out' error. I don't know if that means it's just experiencing a problem tonight or if the site's gone.

EDIT: Okay, so I installed the TSR one, downloaded the granny2.dll file but it's not working like it should. I installed the rigfix programme, copy/pasted the granny2.dll file into the correct place but the 'found granny' pop up doesn't show up and when I continued anyway and followed the steps to fix my game, nothing shows up. I've changed the filter to DBC, selected the two files I have (dcdb0.dbc, dcdb1.dbc) and nothing showed up in the rigfix programme like it showed. I tried clicking on 'open' and still nothing worked...

I can't see what I'm doing wrong. The only problem I can think of is that I can't specifically find the 2009 granny2.dll. Both of the ones I've tried have been labelled as 2009 but when I look at the modified date it says either 2011 or 2012.

EDIT 2: Okay, I figured out that I'd missed a step when trying to fix the files and finally got them to show up and fixed them. However, still the HolySimoly Arizona sofa and chair, and the Soiree dining chairs and table won't fix. I've even gone and specifically found these files, selected only them, and tried to fix them but it's still not working. It just comes up saying '0 items successfull converted' or something like that when I'd had something like 6 items selected.

Are these HolySimoly items just not compatible with newer patches regardless of applying this fix or am I just being completely dense and doing something wrong?
