View Full Version : My sims are falling through the walls... That's not so normal...

Hi. I just patched up to 1.33 So I could also have the lastest version of Twallan's Story Progression. Aside from that one mod, I have no custom content or anything non-maxis breathed. Heck, I don't even have anything from the store due to my launcher thinking it's not up to date and refusung to install anything--but, that is a problem for another day.

My problem of top concern at the moment is that my sims occasionally fall through the walls of their house when standing next to them. Strangely enough, they don't walk back through it to get back into the house, they just walk around to the nearest door to inside. They also seem to be standing in objects sometimes, for example my toddler was playing with blocks, and he seemed stuck inside the play table, with very disfigured arms... He got out fine though. Another thing I've noticed is an occassional lag, but I don't expect there to be a solution to that when I have Story Prog. installed. If anyone would like to see my tech specs, lemme know, but I don't think it's a computer issue when none of this happened before the update OR installing the mod. Not sure which one could be causing this, but any insight would be appreciated. Oh, and by the way, I have only the base game, no ep's or stuffs.

EDIT: And then, when things just couldn't get any freakin' wierder, my sim gets out of the pool only to be followed by a never ending trail of what looks to be the ripple effect in the water emanating from his arm pits. Oh, what to do...

Well, I'm by no means a technical expert(hell, I only came on the forums to see if anyone had any come to my aid on the Nth technical issue I've been haveing trouble with)
But, if you're decribing what I think you are, I've had trouble with this before. Try the 'reset sim' cheat- by entering "resetsim (sim's full name)" in the cheat box- if you haven't already. It might also be worth saveing a house to the bin(it doesn't matter which) from 'edit town 'mode- doing this resets the entire neighborhood. If none of this works- Its probably a bigger issue. Even if it does work, the problem can sometimes come back but not very often and if you know how to deal with it, it's not too much of an issue

-Hope that helps!

P.s. I've also had success curing this problem by going into buy mode(with the "moveobjects" cheat already on) and moving the trouble sim to the ground floor(makeing sure they're not interacting with anything/one first!) before going back into live mode- but this carries a bit more of a risk then reseting the sim, in that occationaly it can make the sim even more disoriented.
