View Full Version : This seems like a problem :(

Hi ^^

So 2 days ago I attempted to use the boolprop cheat to make my old Sim die of disease. I have never really use this cheat before, just type it in and shift click to see the option, and I always forget to turn it off before quitting. Anyway, I typed it in and was about to kill my Sim but my mother told me to go somewhere so I turned it off and quit. I practically didn't do anything.

Yesterday when I was playing in that family I click the mailbox and there were a bunch of options, make me know everyone, force pregnancy, etc,... The thing is, the cheat wasn't on. I clicked the trash can and shift click a Sim, but there were no options besides what are intended in the game. This only happened to the mailbox.

I turned the cheat on and then off, but those options were still there. I saved and went to another house, the same thing happened. This house also had a problem with the paper boy. He kept walking left and right without putting the paper down. I made my Sim greet him, he came into the house, put the paper down and left.

I moved this family out and the same paper boy came, this time a message showed up which said there is a problem with him, with 3 options Cancel, Reset, Delete. I clicked reset but the message kept showing up, so I clicked Delete and he was... delete.

I know this hood is messed up since I have toddlers with LTW and squiggly lines in thought bubbles, but I really have done anything at all to this hood, I created it a few weeks ago, never use booprop, never delete sims in sims bin, never delete tombstone.

How can I bring the mailbox back to normal?

Thanks for spending your time reading my long post ^^

Did you install any lots recently?

I downloaded 3 lots, but never install them in this hood.

I moved all the lots in Riverblossom Hill, Belladona Cove, Strangetown, Pleasant View and Veronaville into the Lot Bin, 'cause I dont really like building house. I had moved everyone out of those lots before moved them into the Lot Bin.

Yesterday I installed a few community lots taken from Belladona Cove

It sounds like a hack--check your downloads. I play with testing cheats on all the time, and I have to shift-click to get extra options on the mailbox, so even if you did have it on, you shouldn't get extra options for a regular click.

Yeah I know, but I got those extra options just by one click, and the cheat wasn't on, so I freaked out, kind of :p

Speaking of hack, I have 3 mods, the notowniegeren, anti weather reaction and anti redundancy of Pescado, but they seem to conflict with my game (theyre in the box of conflict CC whenever I start my game). And they dont seem to work, either. My Sims are still blown away by the rain and each day there are more and more weird-name townie. I downloaded the updates for AL and extracted them in the download folder, is that how you do it? :-s

There are several different no-regen mods, based on the type of townie. You'll want them all.

If you have no CC except those three mods from MATY, perhaps you need this:

Here is the list of all no-regen mods:

'K - sounds like the old mailbox hack snuck in with a lot. That's a very old problem though it was so widespread at one time that I imagine it's still out there causing problems (as you have found). It's sort of the sim game equivalent of bubonic plague. It's partly why Clean Installer was first made (and where it gets its name). Using Clean Installer is the best way to weed out stuff like that before you get 'infected' with global mods like the mailbox hack. Think of it as sim penicillin.

That mail box hack *Cough wheeze cough* spreads like the flu.

Did you download a lot off the exchange? That is where I picked that little beauty up some four or five years ago. Just run clean installer and see if an unrecognized hack is in there and remove it to a folder outside of your game.

Thank you guys xD

Yesterday I encountered another problem :( my Sim gave birth to a baby, then I let her husband go to the community lot, but when he arrived it was in Buy Mode, and I can't switched to Live Mode  I quitted, then went back to that house, and the wife was standing in the curb, the toddler was sleeping in the curb too and the husband was in this weird position like he was sitting in a car - only that there was no car. I think it's a glitch. Anyway my Sims couldn't pick the baby up, whenever they attempted to do so they hopped back to where they was standing before they went near the baby  and the new born baby had dissapeared, and I couldn't select the toddler

@maxon: I downloaded the Clean Installer and scaned my Download file. Some of them was hilighted in red, pink and blue. What should I do next? :-s

Red are behaviour- or coding-altering hacks - you need to check those carefully and get rid of any you didn't actually put in your Downloads folder yourself.

Pink are duplicates - you can get rid of one of them. The best way to do this is sort the list by the MD5 column. This will put duplicate files together so you can check they are indeed duplicates and where you put them. They may not have the same name but if they're pink, the contents of the file are identical.

Blue I'm not sure about but Moo will know. She, after all, has taken over maintenance of CI.

From the Clean Installer download thread:
The newest version highlights (in light blue) BodyShop projects which do not have a Binary Index. These are almost always incomplete BodyShop projects which will not show up in your game. However, there are some default replacements which will be incorrectly flagged, such as Phaenoh_DEFAULT_SocialBunniesRedefined. Therefore, you should be sure to check the flagged packages before removing. Requested by fanseelamb.

Have you been playing in BodyShop lately? Or do you have default replacements installed?
