View Full Version : Sim clothing won't change

I seem to have stumbled upon an undocumented issue: my sims can use wardrobes, display the "spin" animation where appropriate, and can change from one outfit type to another (Formal to Swimwear, for example) just fine. They can't, however, change what clothing they are wearing. For example, if I were to take a pre-made sim who was wearing a suit, and buy him a T-shirt, and tell him to wear it, his appearance will change in the "Plan outfit" menu, and he will spin, but he will still be wearing his suit.

This appears to be a game-wide issue. I have no custom content.

This issue began after I changed the life state of one of my sims with SimPE, oddly enough. She's an adult sim wearing elder clothing. It looks rather odd. If I age her up with boolprop and a cake, her clothing will change to a completely different set of elder-wear, but this can not be changed, either. Any suggestions?

Um - did you just buy and select a t-shirt? Because they can't wear shirts bought individually until they have bottoms to go with.

If this happens when you have a full outfit selected, I've never heard of such a thing, though I have had trouble with certain outfits "sticking" - possibly because of a problem with the outfit I was trying to change into. (Damn bear pjs...)

If you have adult sims wearing elder-only clothing that sounds like there's something seriously borked in your wardrobe code.

Anyway, run the FAQ. It isn't just about custom content.
