Not too long ago it was $20 or so and now it's $30 again! How the heck did this happen!!!! Gonna buy it used instead. Hope there's good sellers.

I don't have enough $$$ for this.

Do you really need two separate threads for this?

BTW, EA doesn't set Amazon's price. Amazon does.

I have been watching Amazon prices for several months now. It fluctuates. Every 2 - 3 months they will have a week or two long sale of Sims products and then they will go back up. They are back up to non-sale prices but will go down again - probably during the 4th of July. (My best guess) Whenever it goes on sale, I make a post. It's not some sort of scandal. The sale ended.

Watch when a new EP comes out. They have sales then too. I got all my EP and SP the week SHT came out. Also snagged SHT because they accidentally put it on sale the day it came out too.

Exactly!

I know EA may not be Mother Tereza of gaming companies but just because something is slightly related to them, doesn't mean it's their fault. Jeez. I'm not an EA apologist but it's pretty amusing, albeit annoying, when this happens.

Why not just go on Ebay bet you can find some good deals there.

Seriously, it's £29.20 here in England on Amazon. That's $45!!! You've got a bargain!

Dude, $30 for a game that came out within the past few years is a steal. :/ If you're that worried over the price of a video game, maybe you should save your money and put it toward something more practical, instead.

So ... you can't afford sims 3 but you're going to make and market your own game? *confused*

I bought the Sims 3 for 60 dollars. I would have loved to buy it for 30. The expansion packs are 30 bucks alone for me. Yikes.

EDIT: lol, this is a different thread by the same author. Oops. I need my coffee

You're whining over $30 bucks? You can't afford $30 measly dollars?

As far as I'm concerned, that's a good deal for such a game.

...Pay a quick thought for people outside of America (I assume?). In Australia/New Zealand new games, including sims, cost upwards of $90 when first brought out. Expansion packs generally retail around $50 when released.

And EA wonders why people keep pirating their games... If it was like 20$ or 15$ more people will stop pirating

Ha, or people will stop pirating games when they save up for things and wait until they can afford stuffs instead of demanding instant gratification. But then again, I owe quite a bit of dosh to my parents so I can't talk...

Yeah, here in Australia it was like 89.95 when it first came out I believe. I think it's still like $60. I'm not sure what that is in American dollars though.

I was about to comment and say the same thing! And that $89.95 roughly translates to the same in US dollars. Games are much more expensive here, in fact the Australian High Court is currently holding an inquiry as to why we're so ripped off when our dollar equals, or is worth more than, the US dollar.

Anyway, yeah, $30 is a steal. I coulda bought 3 copies at that price.

I'm actually really shocked by this. I mean, $90?! Thank God I don't live in NZ or Australia. When I bought TS3 + Ambitions last year it was like $50 for both! I think I've even seen SPs for like $10. *suddenly thankful to live in the US for the sole purpose of buying cheap games*

I just pre-ordered Supernatural and paid $47.59 US for it, which currently works out to about $48.78 Canadian for me! I envy $30!

The US and Australian dollars are pretty close, within pennies, right now.

For me to preorder SN it is $39.99 (I live in the US.)

Now I shall wait until SN comes out (or until the next couple months) to order TL stuff and MS stuff. Hopefully they'll be back between $10 and $15. :D

I would advise anyone who wants any sims games stay off amazon for awhile.Somebody at the headquaters must be high as a kite for this...

That isn't being sold directly by Amazon, but actually from a independent seller.
The Sims 1 Complete Collection suffers from a high seller price too weighing in at $109.99.
Usually its a sign the game is out of print and new copies are becoming more rare.

Yeah I keep forgetting about the independent sellers.

I mean they could have at least waited awhile before they started jacking up the prices.TS2 is still sold at walmart and best buy for $19.99.

I find that ridiculous with TS1 being so expensive..and I see what you mean about the priceing.I'm looking at N64 games and some are being sold for 500.00 .Madness I should have kept my old N64 games :(.

In the uk verison of amazon the price of sims 3 is £25.93 and I need to rebuy it so I can play sims supernatural as my own copy of sims 3 wo'nt install anymore. Buy a guess sims supernatural will cost £30.00. The sims 2 apartment life costs £44.99 and was adout £80.00 a few months defore.
