Seems like everytime I fix something with the game, a new problem springs up hah.
So I had reinstalled my game a few days ago, added the CC back and it seemed to be working fine until I loaded up a Riverview save. Turns out a bunch of the rabbitholes were missing (Military Base, City Hall, etc), things like the police station were still there, however.
So I loaded up a fresh game with Riverview, and the buildings were all accounted for in that one, but they were showing their file locations instead of proper names.
I quit the game, loaded up the launcher and uninstalled Riverview, assuming reinstalling it might fix the issue. While uninstalling, it gave me a warning saying my save games for that world would be removed. Well, that's alright, I thought; I had backed up my folder and saves prior to uninstalling.
I reinstalled, and the world is working great now, no problems with the rabbitholes or anything else I've noticed... But, my Riverview saves won't show up in the main menu.
I assumed once I had reinstalled Riverview I could just move the Riverview saves back into the saves folder, (which I did) but they refuse to show up in the main menu.
I've tried renaming and using the sims3.backup saves, I've attempted to load nothing but the Riverview saves, I've cleared the caches, and the DCCache as suggested by Nichaedemus on the Sims 3 forums. I've moved my entire Sims 3 folder (in documents) to let it regenerate, but still to no avail.
When I did uninstall Riverview initially, the individual save folders for that town were still in the 'Saves' folder, and still had all their files within which set off a few red flags. But now that I can't get my Riverview saves back in the game, I'm assuming it's a deeper rooted issue.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I'm having a similar issue with file names showing up for lots in Hidden Springs, so I had intended to reinstall that world next... But if I can't get the save files to show up... Well, I'm not quite sure what to do.
Edit: On a whim I deleted my Sims 3 folder (in documents) again after making a backup on another harddrive. Started up the game to let the folder regenerate, exited, installed Riverview via the launcher, ran the game again to check it was working - it was. Then dropped my backup Riverview save files into the fresh Sims 3\Saves folder, and viola! The saves show up in the main menu and are fully playable, however the rabbit holes are missing from these specific saves. No errors otherwise though, and I do have backups of the Riverview rabbit holes in my library, so I'll see if I can place them in town.
Not quite sure why deleting the Sims 3 folder didn't work the first time around, sorry for the post!
