I've seen I'm not the only one with this issue. Actually, I've searched pretty much for everything related to this. Here is what I'm talking about:

I've done everything at the FAQ (Sims 3 Game Problem) and also other things, as updating the GPU drivers, restoring to the default settings and even cleaning up (!) my PC inside. Removed a hand full of dust. My PC has the recommended specs to run the game (and actually, at CYRI, the results were pointing to a fast game). And the last thing to note: I've played Sims 3 at this computer before. All running fine.
And because the uploader here is funky:
DxDiag results: http://pastie.org/4120345
Can You Run It results: http://pastie.org/4120348

Thanks in advance.

NOTE: check this (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?p=3884497#post3884497) other post, as it states more things about my GPU.

That graphics card doesn't work with the sims 3. If you look at the requirements (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_System_Requirements), you'll see your card Radeon HD3400 has no's all the way across. This explains why the graphics don't look right.

Also, Can You Run It is extremely unreliable. To know if your computer can run the sims 3, you should read the above linked article.

Just because it ran once, is not a guarantee it'll always work. Check out Your Computer is like a Car (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Your_Computer_is_Like_a_Car). It's entirely possible that running the sims 3 has damaged your graphics card.

I actually thought something was wrong. The computer is giving the info all wrong: the actual GPU is a ATI Radeon HD 4830 and it has 512MB memory. Not 1786MB as stated in the DxDiag. I uninstalled the drivers and the game runs fine (actually fine, no lag at all). Unless someone exchanged the actual GPU (which would be highly unlikely, oh the irony) the computer is not detecting the hardware properly. I suspect that the Catalyst Control Center installs the drivers for the wrong GPU. Still, I need help. Why would this be even happening?
