Hi,
recently my game has become seriously corrupt, I do use CC and I have my game version updated. I'm not a very techy person so I'm not sure what to do. I can't even explain what' went wrong so I've taken a few screen shots of one of my worlds to show you.

Are the lots ok when you enter them?

That looks to me like it is probably a graphics issue. Can you post your system specs? (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:System_Specs for how to find them)
Or you can simply compare them yourself with the guide here: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_System_Requirements

If it's not your graphics, try the Game problem FAQ here: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Game_Problem

Which is in the wrong place - the lots or the world terrain?

I think it's the terrain.
The lots are fine when you enter them.
Here's my system specs; (Sorry! Never done this before so I hope this is the right thing).

Does this happen in all worlds? Does it still occur if you remove your Mods folder?

This may be because you don't have a graphics card, just integrated graphics: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Onboard_Graphics

How do you remove the mod folder? Do you have to delete it?

No, you can just move it out of the Sims folder. Or move your resource.cfg to the desktop, and the game won't be able to read it anymore. (Be sure you remember to put it back where it came from after you finish testing.)

It works perfectly when I removed the mods folder, but when I put it back the graphics went all weird again. Is it my content? How do I find/fix broken content??

That shows that you have a world file saved (or perhaps merged) as a package file in your Mods folder. Essentially what is happening is that the game is trying to load two worlds at once; the one that you are playing and the one that is in your Mods folder.

This is the way to find the package that is causing the problem:
