Hi everybody i've come back to the sims after quite a while away.

I've installed all my expansion packs and I am in the process of installing the stuff packs but I wanted a content manager so that I could put the stuff packs into collections if necessary. The official content manager looked like it would do the job.

The problem is that I have tried to log on to the Sims 2 website by using my username/password but it seems there is no response. I've tried to register a new ID and to do so you get redirected to an EA website run by Origin, I have a new ID/Password but again this doesn't seem to work.

Have any members encountered the same? Is there any other way to get the official content? Does anyone have any suggestions of an alternative utility?

You can download it from simprograms. Just google sims 2 content manager and you'll find the link.

Edit to add: You can also download Delphy's Download Manager from ModtheSims. It is a very handy programme. :)

the Sims 2 site was taken down long ago. Delphy's program is probably your best bet

The official site is not gone. I check in to the BBS there daily.

I have no insight as to why the OP cannot log in, though.

Yeah, still up. Was down for a few months last year and had problems even after that. The exchange in terms of sims has been terrible lately though. For lots it's been that way forever (and not really safe to download from.)
