How have you made this come to pass? I've just started it, so I'm curious as to the various ways you made this wish come true.

To be honest, the first time I had a Sim with that lifetime wish, I cheated; motherlode'd the crap out of them and then had the husband die...

Easiest. Wish. Ever.

Ah, yes. But how did you have him die? That's the interesting part. :report:

I drowned him in pool surrounded by walls. :D He had the hydrophobic trait, if I can remember correctly, so that made it even funnier.

Now that is a lovely little side benefit. :)

While you're watching your main female sim (shopping, at the cafe/spa, naturally), make the older male sim try to fix broken items with no handiness skill... or cook with no cooking skill. Light birthday cakes & fireplaces, no fire alarm. Etc.
I'm not sure what triggers a meteor, if anything, but that's a pretty sweet death. The meteor strikes, which can kill, and it also causes fire which can act as a safety net if the meteor doesn't hit him exactly! One bird, two stones, EZ

Hm. My sim was right there when grimmy came and her husband was begging. Nada. When the ghost of him appeared later, still nothing. They also have interacted and they are... fiancees??? What?

... why are you assuming that the gold digger is female and the victim is male? Can go either way (in the game, and IRL ;) ).

I've never succeeded in completing this wish, but then, I don't have much stomach for killing sims. The thing I wonder about it though... is that the game doesn't know WHICH sim is rich, since all funds are household funds. So when a rich sim marries a poor sim, the poor sim is now a rich sim... could EITHER of them fulfill the LTW, or does the game remember which sim was originally (pre-wedding) poor?

Yes, I think the household has to be rich. If the rich spouse moves in with the poor one and thus the household is not considered as rich anymore the wish will not fulfill.
I remember an old game where Story Progression married Dallas Shallow, who had that LTW then, from Riverview to Ma Bagley and moved them into a smaller house. Both the Shallows and the Bagleys were rich, but the new couple wasn't anymore and Dallas couldn't fulfill his LTW. I then went back to an older save, raised the value of their new home to something above 100,000 and then it worked.
And BTW, the two Gold Diggers I've played so far were both male. "Old money belongs into young hands" was the motto of one of them and he married Milly Pidgin from Twinbrook, disinherited her daughter and bode his time until he finally became the sole owner of that house he had coveted right from the moment he had moved into that town. Woohoo felt a bit weird at first but he got used to it and after Milly's demise his eyes promptly fell upon Marigold Racket.
The bloody thing about this LTW is that you have to witness the death and unless you kill the Sim your Gold Digger really has to follow their elderly spouse like a dog.

I confess that my current sim simply *had* to have the money to start up his Equestrian business and like the manwhore he is, he met a rich townie, wrecked her marriage, married her, moved into her mansion (suffering the pathetic wailings of his wife's ex husband). Then broke up with her and ultimately kicked her and the whiner ex ex husband out. Now of course my sim is the rich one, at the top of his career with a string of racehorses, and a custom built mansion and now liable to become Gold Digger bait any day .. some would say he had it coming ..

he married Milly Pidgin from Twinbrook,

My gold digger married Milly too, then locked her in the attic by removing the door so she would eventually starve to death. I felt so sorry for her all alone up there in the dark cold attic. Sims can be cruel.

I prefer the more realistic route of having a YA marry some elder five days away from dying. It gets easier when you (the player) are familiar with the town and know who's due to age up when.

Wimps.

He meets her. She is rich, she is beautiful, she is....YOUNG. And she loves him. Oh yes. She loves him soooo much.....she moves into his shack, against the strenuous objections of her parents, the town founders. She resigns from her Level 10 job, and finds happiness amongst the weeds and the swamp, fishing with her beloved....because it is better to live off the land, he says. She learns to cook, she learns to garden, she loves the laundry....ANYTHING to make him happy.

And he is.

Happily excavating a dungeon, with HER money, to which he eventually leads her. She goes, willingly.....as she has always done. And while she wonders why there would only be a bucket and a bed in such a dank and horrid place....he creeps upstairs....and locks the door....and MOVES.

What....did you expect for him to stay for the screams???

While vacationing in France, with his new Simeuropean lover, he receives a telegram.....

And THAT, my friends, is how you make a Gold Digger.

*thank you, thank you*

Hmm. You had me, until this part.

Time doesn't pass when you're on vacation! ;) So, she can't die when he's traveling.

Even if he were in the same town, having moved... can an inactive sim die of starvation simply from being locked in the basement, seeing as they don't actually, yknow, eat?

I have yet to receive said telegram.....*I think you just explained why*....so I expect it will be waiting Mike Stinkum upon his return....

Oh, she IS dead. Oh yes. I assure you. I got Grimmy's notice while playing another family. I use Twallan's StoryPro. Mr. Stinkum is still in France. With the next victim.

Alas.....me laptop is kaput, and I cannot continue the torture.....pity....
