Sims 3 - Verify Package Installation
To help you further, please carefully read and follow the following:
First, double-check your setup: These instructions will take you through the things you should check yourself: Package Files Not Working (http://www.simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Not_Working). You may be able to fix the problem yourself using those instructions.
Still not working? Then we will need ALL of the following information.
What is the version of your base game?
Windows OS: Game_Help:TS3_Patching_Find_Gameversion
Mac OSX: Game_Help:TS3_Patching_Find_Gameversion#info.plist
Copy and paste the indicated line from the skuversion.txt or info.plist, from the respective locations shown in the Find Gameversion Wiki, which would show you how to navigate to the following path: \Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
BG: GameVersion =
Take THREE screenshots... one each of the following locations, with the Explorer/Finder window showing the Details View:
Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\
Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\
Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages
... and attach them to a post on this thread. Click Go Advanced and then Manage Attachments. Or if it says the pictures are too big, you can upload them to modyourpanties.com and copy and paste the links.
We have a guide on how to take screenshots if you need assistance: Game_Help:Screenshots.
Make sure you set your folder view to Details mode, that you have file types showing (.package, .cfg, etc. on the ends of the filenames) and expand out the Name and Type columns so they're fully readable!
Open your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\resource.cfg file in Notepad/TextEdit and copy-paste its contents here.
Right-click on Resource.cfg and check Properties. Is the file name Resource.cfg or Resource.cfg.txt or something else?
Is the mod for your game version? Do you meet all other requirements of the Mod? You've read all the Description on the Overview fully? Game_Help:GCCTSU3_VerifyCompatibility
The CC Framework is installed correctly, and the 2 test files work?
If yes, then please ask at the Download page, as each creator support their own work. Questions like "where is the item to be found" and "what patch it is compatible with" is all in the Overview and Download Tabs, reread it again please.
If the 2 test files do not work, then provide ALL the information asked for above.
And, last but not least, do not create multiple threads for similar issues, if you've forgotten our Site Rules, please take the time to reread, thank you.

I don't know the mods you are referring to, but if it gives you the plants without having to have a gardener plant them, I would use TestingCheatsEnabled true, followed by BuyDebug, and then look in buy mode (in Function sort) for the question mark. There are a set of tabs, one of which is plant and seed spawners. There are several icons that look like dirt piles, which are full-grown Normal quality plants. They are probably there.
If they aren't there, hunt around town for Unknown Special seeds, and see if any of them aren't the usual Life fruit, death flower, Flame Fruit, or Money Trees when you plant them.
You might also need to see if your gardener can plant them without having had the opportunity for them. This is likely to require a high level of gardening skill, though.

If I got the 2 mods the OP is referring to correct, they are both outdated and incompatible with current patch version. Game Help:Patch_Table
And thus my question:Is the mod for your game version? Do you meet all other requirements of the Mod? You've read all the Description on the Overview fully?
Links to the aforementioned download items would have been nice...I am copying links so I myself do not have to search them again each time I click and read this thread.
Rainbow_Brite's Add More Traits to Your Sims
patch 1.22/2.16/3.12/4.9/5.7/6.4/7.2/8.0 CompatibleAnd if you were to Google MasterController, that would have told you MasterController is currently only for the current patch version, and patch 1.22 is no longer available for download, so this (RB's) mod is not usable at this point. I believe Twallan has a mod to do this, anyway. Might even be in MasterController, read his Site+Mod FAQs.
"plants" keyword search_results (http://www.modthesims.info/browse.php?f=414&showType=1&tag=plants&gs=2)
compatible with the 1.22/...
compatible with the 1.12/...
And thus, I ask again: Is the mod for your game version? Is your game version 1.22 or is more current? The "where/how" is already stated for the Traits mod, and the Plant mods work as per usual when you plant produce. They won't work however if the game versions are not compatible. Remember, mods are patch-specific! Unless otherwise stated by the modder to be compatible, if the patch coding do not alter them.
If these are not the mods you're asking about, then like I also asked above, You've read all the Description on the Overview fully?
