No lifetime aspirations

I have just installed The Sims 2 universal version on my mac, and when I play the game none of my sims have lifetime aspirations - the menu just shows their current aspiration level and daily wants. If anyone has any idea why this has happened please let me know, it would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

If by "lifetime aspiration" you're referring to a lifetime want (something like reach the top of X career or have 20 best friends), you will need to install the University expansion to have this feature. Lifetime wants came with that expansion.
The aspiration level and daily wants and fears should be all you see with just the base game installed.

Thanks - I used to have the PC version which was double deluxe, so I've found quite a few features aren't available with the original game.
