First off, i'm really sorry if there's a similar post somewhere. I searched for "language" on the help boards and there weren't any like my question. believe me, i've been looking all over. but, sorry if this is a repeat or if it's in the wrong place.

now my question...

I have TS2 that i got from my cousin (Who does, in fact, reside in Thailand. She bought it there. i'm pretty sure this is legal, no?) Only trouble is that the game is in Thai. I know it's possible to make it run in english, because when she installed it a couple months ago, it was running in english. i had no trouble with running game and it's registered on the sims official site. Now i have gone and uninstalled it and when i try to reinstall it's in thai. (well actually it's mostly question marks, probably because my computer doesn't read thai symbols or something.) I know there's a way to make it run in english, but i don't know how! it has something to do with a big long list of languages that looks like "english 0, thai 1, french 0, german 0" and so on, and you have to change the thai to a 0 and the english to a 1. (haha.. sorry if i lost anybody there) i just don't know how to get to that file that has the languages. if anybody does know what i'm talking about, please tell me how! i'll be very grateful for any help at all.

thanks, sorry to bother.

Q. my Sims 2 is in Thai and i managed to install it but i don't know what to do to change the language to english now that it is working. If anyone knows please help me.

A. Instructions on how to change the installation language on The Sims 2 and The Sims 2 University from Thai to English

1. Create a temporary directory on your hard drive.
2. Copy the entire contents of The Sims 2 Disk 1 to the temporary directory.
3. Find the file called autorun.cfg under the AutoRun directory of the temporary directory just created.
4. Open the file using Notepad. Change the line Thai=1 to Thai=0 and change the line English UK=0 to English UK=1. Save and close the file.
5. Run the installation from the setup.exe file in the temporary directory.
6. Once the game is installed the temporary directory can be deleted.
7. For The Sims 2 University complete the same process with The Sims 2 University Disk 1.
