This lot was built with a game configuration that includes Get to Work and Outdoor Retreat. It has content from from GTW and OT. It my not be compatible with your game configuration.

By special request for residentliza . This is a Retail lot made to match my Bourbon Street mixed use plaza.

On the right, there is a camping store and a bookstore, both 2-story. The frame shop in the 3-story building has an artist's studio overhead. The third level is empty. On the left is a bakery, followed by a clothing boutique. The loft of the boutique is the children's section, and behind that are the public restrooms.

At the end of the street, the retail district ends and the residential area begins where we see two examples of traditional creole cottages.

Before I started this lot, I hadn't played retail at all (You know I only bought GTW for the build items.) I thought it would be possible to have it run by NPCs if my sim owner bought it, set the prices, and sold it back. In the course of my testing, I was not able to make that happen. If you want to visit this lot on a regular basis to make purchases, one of your sims is going to have to put in some work.

You could play this lot several different ways:

1. One owner, and only price items in one section; just run the bookstore or just run the bakery, say.
2. A big family runs the whole lot as one giant store.
3. Visit as an unowned lot where you will be able to buy stuff from the vending cooler, drink coffee, and take in the ambiance.
4. Reclassify the lot as residential, move in a rich sim that needs a money sink, and wake up to the coolest driveway ever.

Some other things I found out while testing:

The camping store was originally supposed to be an herbalist shop but the various creams and lotions placed from the debug catalog did not survive the trip through the gallery. I had my test sim whip up two of the most useful for camping and these crafted items did make it through to a different save game. I also embiggened them because it looks better. I didn't have any trouble with any other debug or unlocked items. All the items from Outdoor Retreat are in this shop. If you don't have it, you will just have an empty space to set up a concept of your own.

Another one of my failed ideas was a pet store. It seems insects can be priced but fish tanks can't. Still, they add to the atmosphere. Since I sent my test sim fishing while I was taking pics, I went ahead and stocked them, don't know if the fish will still be there. There's room to throw in a few frogs if you want.

There are quite a few skill manuals in the bookstore, but the fishing and herbalist manuals are in the camping store, natch. You definitely want to price all the single books laying around, else your customers try to clean them up. Also found that when you stand up the herbalist and baking books on a retail display, the covers aren't consistent. I was fairly disappointed at this EA fail because those are some of the coolest covers.

I left several baked goods in the bakery display. I found that it is possible to make herbal recipes and baked goods with ingredients from the debug catalog, in case your busy shop owner doesn't have time to garden.

The mannequins cannot be dressed or shopped from while on the pedestals. It looks cool.

I did my best to make this lot without CC but there was just such a lack of items for the boutique. Then there were a couple other things I had to have to match my reference pics, and it kind of snowballed. It's all decor so if you're not into CC, the lot will run just fine, just be a little sparse. If you don't install the CC files, the game will remove the items from the lot for you. I've tested this in my own game without problems so there's no longer a reason to post an unfurnished version. Inside the 7zip you will find files with extensions .bpi, .blueprint and .trayitem. These go in your Tray folder. Place the lot from inside the lot in build mode with bb.moveobjects off . Don't forget to check the "Include Custom Content" button under ADVANCED on the left side of your library.
