PLEASE READ
This mod is basically three years old now and as much as I love it-it was a beginner project and as of now, obsolete-doesn't work. Do not put any custom traits from below 2020 I'd say in your mods folder as traits can break easily due to updates. I am still very much a newbie at custom traits, but it means a lot to me that loads of people downloaded this mod and I really appreciate that, thank you! Perhaps someday I will get back into trait making and remake or update this mod or maybe someone else will update it but until then...Remove this mod. Thank you all so much, and may tweens become a reality <3


This is the first-ever trait I've created so, I'm pretty proud of it! I usually just recolor/re-texture clothes but, I really wanted to simulate a "tween" sim and I already had nice clothes, hair, skin details, etc. But, technically...the child sim was still a "child". I wanted some way to make them act slightly older so, I decided to try and make a trait for a tween life stage since I can't make an actual life stage. After I put it in my game, I really found it useful for that empty pre-teen hole in most simmer's hearts, so I decided to make an account here and upload this! Hope some people use this as a substitute for their needs of tweens in the game!

List of Buffs, Debuffs, and Whims

Continuous Loots
Buff Name-That was embarrassing!
Buff Reason-(From being a Tween)
Buff Emotion-Embarrassed +1
Buff Description-Your tween was caught doing something VERY childish! Maybe it's best not to let anyone older than your tween see them having some fun!
This buff lasts 2 hours

Continuous Loot's Whims
There are certain actions that will result in embarrassment for your tween.
-Play with toys +1
-Play with stuffed animal +1
-Play with dollhouse +1
-Slide the Plank +1
-Play Pirate +1
-Watch Kids Network +1
-Hug stuffed animal +1
And some more
Basically, any interaction that kids do, a tween will be embarrassed.

Occasional Events
Buff Name-I...Have...a...crush...
Buff Reason-(From being around other tweens) Note: This buff could/will still happen around "children" since tween isn't a real-life stage. Also, gender doesn't apply.
Buff Emotion-Flirty +1 Note: Since the child sim is not supposed to become flirty, the skeleton stretches/hovers when flirty. I don't mind it so hopefully, it's not that big of a deal
Buff Description-Your tween sim is having a crush on someone! How adorable! Puppy Love! Why don't you try and help them find out who that secret crush is?
This buff lasts 3 hours and has a 20% chance of occurring when around other Sims with the Tween trait

Occasional Event Whims
There are certain Whims when your tween is flirty.
-Listen to Romantic Music +1
-toy_PlayAwayFeelings +1 (This will result in embarrassment though)
-Blog about Feelings +1
-Write Love Email +1
-book_Journal_Write +1
-Play Together In Fountain +1
-View Flirty Work +1
And some more

Whims
There are a lot of Whims! Basically based on things that a tween would do or what they would want to do.
- Get out in the City +1
-Throw a party +1
-Play an Instrument +1
-Paint on an Easel +1
-Be Mischievous +1 (Some tweens are rebellious)
-Play Video Games +1
-Kiss Someone +1 (Of course, it cannot be performed but, it's nice to have there)
-Play with Toybox Toys +1 (This will result in embarrassment though)
-Play With Makeup +1 (For female tweens of course)

Buff Description-Your tween sim might just be crushing on that tween sim over there! Awe! You could choose to do something about it? Or let your tween calm down and have their secret crush.
The whims are the same as the whims when they have a crush
This buff has a 20% chance of happening and lasts for 1 hour

Buff Reason-(From being around other tweens) Note: This buff could/will still happen around "children" since tween isn't a real-life stage.
Buff Emotion-Happy + 2
