How do i recolor the teeth on a sim while leaving the face the same skin tone?

Making any sort of item in Body Shop follows the same concepts. You have your texture, which gives, well, the texture and colour, and you have the alpha, which determines where the texture is applied. Where the alpha is white, you will get 100% of the texture overlaying that area. Where the alpha is black, you will get none of the texture showing.

If you are doing a full-face makeup to just do the teeth, first make a project out of a skintone. Open up one of the face files (has "face" in the name) and note the layout of the face texture. The block in the top right is the teeth. That's the area you'll put your texture in, and on your project, your alpha will have a white rectangle covering that area in the upper right corner, with the rest black.

I did that first part but for the alpha it didn't have a white rectangle in the corner so i pasted another skin project to the alpha that had a darker skintone sqaure in the corner i painted the corner white and the rest black. When i played my game nothing showed up.

Your texture should have teeth with whatever you're doing to them texturing-wise up in the top right corner. Your alpha should be entirely black except for the top right corner, which will have a white rectangle. If it's not set up exactly like that, it won't work right, period.

So for the texture can i paste like a silver picture over the teeth or do i have to color them in individually?

do i paste the skin face over my mask texture project and then paint the teeth or do i have to paint the teeth and upload them as a skin?

You have to set up the texturing to look exactly how you want the teeth to look in-game.

Doing your texturing over the skintone's teeth would probably be the easiest, so you'll see exactly how it'll look. Then when you're done with your texturing and your image looks right, save over the texture in your face mask project. If this is someone else's skintone, though, you'll want to cut out that part (i.e. everything except the teeth, which I think pretty much everyone leaves Maxis original on skintones) as you don't want to be redistributing their texture, even if it doesn't show in-game because it's made invisible with your alpha.
