for some reason I can never get custom CAS screens to work, I put them in C:/program files/eagames/the sims 2 pets/tsdata/res/global lots, but they dont show up! I did manage to get one custom CAS screen to work, I did it this way and it installed beautifully like it should, but it never has worked again! I even tried putting it in all the other expansion files and it still doesnt show up
what in the world is going? I follow the instructions exactly everytime but they have only worked once out of at least twenty tries!
and I know I can use the CAS screen, I made it myself! It doesnt contain anything that my game doesnt have bc it was made with my game! the only thing I did that may upset it is that I moved the mirror. I didnt like how there were these pictures on the walls that I didnt like but I couldnt move them without moving the mirror and all the other stuff that comes with it, so I moved it behind the building out of sight. But when I load the Create-a-sim in game, the normal CAS screen appears! even though the old one is completel non-existant on my system, it still loads the standard CAS screen! I have no idea what is going on and I'm getting sick of it!

Hmm, have you tried the Downloads folder where all other downloads are? That's where I have my downloaded custom CAS, and it works just fine.

nope, tried that and that didnt work either
and just so you know, the one CAS that is working right now isnt in my downloads folder, I keep everything in categorized folders to make it easier to find stuff I just recently installed in case my game suddenly starts messing up, and I know the gothic library CAS is not in my downloads folder, even though it does work in game
oh, and I'm trying to do a YACAS, if that makes any difference

Are the CAS files correctly named as CAS! or YACAS!, with the exclamation points?

yes
and the original YACAS! was removed from the folder, then put on a disc and removed from the computer entirely and it still shows up in game for some stupid reason

For your own custom CAS, have you followed a tutorial such as this (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=180469) one?

yes, and that is infact the one I used to learn how to do it in the first place!
but sadly, even downloaded YACAS and CAS screens dont work, with the exception of that one for some unknown reason....

Could you try uploading your YACAS! as an attachment here, and I could test if it works in my game or not? And also maybe link to some of the other CAS screens you have downloaded that do not work.

Well, this particular YACAS doesn't seem to be working for me, either, so it could be there is a problem with the YACAS rather than your game in general, at least in this case.

okay, I figured out what i did wrong and my custom YACAS works now, but sadly I now need to find a way to get rid of all those stupid pictures, it appears the program spawns the sims wherever the mirror and pictures are so moving them out of the way just makes the sims appear outside infront of the mirror -.-

Have a look for "blank CAS" in Game Mods - I believe although I may be wrong that it is the work of wintermutae - it removes that annoying picture set.

The 'Empty CAS' mod was created by Windkeeper. And you can upload CAS/YACAS screens that have custom content but they follow the same submission rules as regular lots in that the content must be allowed by the creators to be included in lot uploads. If you're not sure what the policies are, this Wiki article lists a majority of the site policies: http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Creator_Policies
