View Full Version : Star Trek: Maverick_ RPG *Positions always open!*
23rd Dec 2007, 09:50 AM
Kezi smiles weakly, Reg's last statement managed to bring tears to her eyes, though she does her best to hide it.
Kezi: Are you sure you want to take care of it, Reg? Because getting yourself even more tangled in this isn't going to help much either... Its my fault, I thought that Patton and Sharpp were just exaggerating about all of this. It was so stupid of my, I'm really sorry.
A young Klingon science officer walks briskly through the doors of the engineering lab, carrying a case in one hand, her other, a fist clenching nothing but air, her voice rings out, loud and militant.
K'thra: Lieutenant Li! I have brought the requested dominion weapon schematics from the laboratory! What do you want me to do with them?
Lennox: I have quite a few reports to look over... does it bother you how little I sleep?
23rd Dec 2007, 09:59 AM
Lt. Li is a little startled by the sudden arrival of the Klingon science officer. He quickly regains his composure.
Lt. Li: thank you ensign, just put them out of the way. I'm sure engineering will have a look when they have the time.
Ensign Zen: Sir I think I have decrypted the rod.
Lt. Li: Thank you Zen.
23rd Dec 2007, 10:04 AM
Katian: Of couse not... Sometimes I wish I only had to sleep a few hours every few months. *stands, kisses Lennox's cheek* Have a good night, Lennox...
Lt. Barclay: It's n-not your fault... You had g-good intentions. The Admiral didn't let me come here without backup. I c-can turn it ovre to them, they'll take care of it. But I s-should contact them soon...
Reg pickes up his discarded uniform and hastily puts it on. He holds out his hand and Kezi places the vial in it.
Lt. Barclay: Don't w-worry, Kezi... And... *swallows* I l-love you...
23rd Dec 2007, 10:21 AM
Lennox: Good night, Katian. I love you.
Kezi watches as he takes the vile and buries it in his pocket. She wonders just who his contacts are. She can't help but wonder if her new boyfriend is some kind of weird, secret agent.
Kezi: ...I love you too, please be careful.
K'thra: As you wish!
K'thra sets down the case on a work table, off to the side and Lt. Sharpp walks into the engineering lab.
Sharpp: Ensign, have you seen my tricorder?
K'thra: You have no tricorder, they are all the same!
Sharpp: No... actually they aren't, my tricorder is special. I am attached to it and it is attached to me.
K'thra:Hah! Apparently not, if you've lost it!
Sharpp: So I take it then, that you haven't seen it.
K'thra: Human, I have no time for your pathetic games!
Sharpp: Do you really have to yell everything?
K'thra; I do not yell, p'tok! Now move out of my way!
Sharpp: Well, if you see Erica, let me know.
K'thra: Who is Erica?
Sharpp: My tricorder, her favorite color's pink, but she's self conscious about it so don't bring it up.
K'thra: You're insane and unfit to wear that uniform!
Sharpp watches as the Klingon storms out of engineering and laughs to himself for a moment. He ponders just how correct K'thra was in regards to his sanity. But ever since the removal of the alien devices he has been taking his normal medication regimine and has had no hallucinations... unless the crewman in the arboretum counts.
Still, he sighs as he leaves engineering to find his Erica. She really was his favorite tricorder because her response time is 0.002 milliseconds faster than the rest of the tricorders.
"My little princess."
23rd Dec 2007, 10:34 AM
Lt. Li wonders what in earth would posses somebody to name their tricorders but he has worked long enough with humans to know that they have a strange capacity to form an attachment with inanimate objects. He gives ensign Zen a short nod as he takes the isolinear rod to examine it's contents in private.
Lt. Li: good work ensign, you are dismissed.
Ensign Zen: Yessir.
Lt. Li walks out of Engineering wondering what secrets he will find buried deep in this small data unit.

Name and Rank:Ensign Vixya
Species/Homeworld: J'naii/Utopia Colony
A brief sentence or two describing your personality: Vixya is from an androgynous species. They grew up in the Utopia Colony of mars and was raised by their progenitor and its companion, a female Trill. Vixya prefers it when people refer to them as them, as opposed to it, but either is acceptable. They are hold degrees in both exobiology and astrophysics, as well as experience in stellar cartography. They are a bit introverted and has a difficult time relating to others due to their lack of a specific gender.

Milo finishes shaving and places his razor back in the drawer. He picks up his comb and runs the the teeth through his crinkled brown hair. Is starting to get long, perhaps he is due in for a cut.
His uniform is clean and he ignores the blood trickling down his face. He always prefered using his fathers straight razor. The only remaining momento of a ghost from his past.
Thirty minutes util his shift starts, he puts on his head set and checks up on Candice who has the night shift tonight i sickbay. She eats her breakfast cereal alone. It seems to be some kind of chocolate grain cereal with whole milk, a truly disgusting meal. He is memorized by the movements of her hands and chewing.
Then, a gloved hand reaches around her throat with a blade.
Candy enjoys her cereal, a truly fattening dish, but a guilty pleasure. She is rudely interrupted but the wedging of a blade into her flesh. She starts to scream, but feels a hand over her neck. Small, warm, covered in black artificial skin. A hushed, distorted voice whispers threats before sliding the knife in. A gushing river of red is unleashed into the floor as the little nurse gurgles and falls to the floor in a spasm.
Milo rips off his headset, the image engrained in his mind of the little nurse lying in a crumpled dying pile of limbs in the floor. He couldn't make out the face of the figure behind her, but he knew who it was. It was the crewman.
Milo tries to shake the image from his mind as he prepares for his shift. Its only an amount of time before they find the body. Its best not to get involved because he does not like the implications.
He looks at the mess that is his room as he stands at the door.
"Computer, lights off."
24th Dec 2007, 03:29 AM
Lt. Barclay: Computer, access comm. system Seven-Two-Nine-Five. Security clearence B-barclay-Gamma-Twelve.
The computer confirmed with a beeping chime before a faint, dark image of a person appeared.
Contact: *over comm* Lieutenant... We were not expecting you to contact us this soon...
Lt. Barclay: I-I know, but something has happened a-and--
Contact: *over comm* We know. Section 31 agents have breached our security mesaures. The Admiral has been contacted on Romulus and informed.
Lt. Barclay: Y-yes, but that's n-not the only reason I c-contacted you...
Contact: *over comm* Oh? Do tell...
Barclay carefully pulled the vial out of his pocket.
Lt. Barclay: T-this... It's blood f-from one of the agents. A forensic s-scientist found it...
Contact: *over comm* Ah. And you intercepted it. Well done. You may have saved Ensign Kezi's life...
Lt. Barclay: W-wait. How do you k-know--
Contact: *over comm* It doesn't matter how we know your girlfriend, Reginald. Just place the vial into your replicator and use the code I'm sending you. It'll prevent it from being recorded. And don't forget to call us if there's anything else...
The signal was cancled. Reg looked at the small sample in his hand. What kind of trouble has he gotten into...?
24th Dec 2007, 04:21 AM
Kezi is already at her work station and K'thra barks curses in klingon as she attempts to recalibrate the temporal monitors. Vixya pecks madly at the keypad of the PADD it is working with.
Milo walks in silently and ignores the passing glares from the klingon. He does his best to seem inconspicuous and normal, whatever that means. He knows that sooner or later, Kezi will be called to Nurse Wyatt's quarters. And though he knows he had no actual part in her death, and that he hated her to begin with, he can't help but to feel guilty.
Kezi can't stop thinking about her conversation Reg earlier. She wonders how much he knows about what has been going on on the ship lately. The thought that he was only interested in her for information crosses her mind, but she snuffs it out quickly.
Vixya: Sir, will you look at these readings I took of the animal taken from Dr. Belzer?
Sharpp: *distracted* Sure ensign...
He glances it for a moment and passes it back to them.
Sharpp: It looks fine. If you need me, I'll be in the back looking over the sensor logs... or something.
Verrik tries to decrypt a isoliniar rod containing the week's work roster as Dr. Glover looks over his shoulder. They are trying to straighten out a descrepincy regarding the second shift nursing staff.
Glover: Do you have any idea who recorded this?
Verrik: I think it was nurse Wyatt, she typically does the less official record keeping- so we can keep her out of the sight of the public *laughs*
Glover: Well leave it to her to screw up something as little as a duty roster. *taps com badge* Dr. Glover to Nurse Wyatt... Wyatt, come in.
They are answered only by silence
Verrik: Computer, locate Candice Wyatt.
*computer* Candice Wyatt is no longer on this vessel.
Glover: What the hell?
24th Dec 2007, 04:38 AM
Sara and Alex had forgone sleep and were sitting up in her Ready Room talking.
Capt. Patton: *sipping tea* ...So like I told you before, Anastasia agreed to stick around for... *sighs* I don't know if I can even say it, let alone wrap my mind around it...
24th Dec 2007, 04:43 AM
Alex looks up, somewhat concerned.
Riddle: Our wedding? Sara... you know, if you don't want to do this, no one is forcing you.
Dr. Glover is frustrated with the nurse, she has no idea what proverbial can of worms she is about to open up.
Glover: That little whore has ignored her senior officers for the last time. *hits comm badge* Glover to security, this is Dr. Glover, can you send a security team to Nurse Wyatt's quarters? She isn't responding to calls and ships censors are not picking her up.
*security* Aye, doctor, right away.
24th Dec 2007, 05:25 AM
Capt. Patton: I'm aware of that... This was my descion as much as it was yours.
Sara litteraly stares out into space, watching the twinkling stars as if they would give her answers.
Capt. Patton: Just all a little strange and difficult to process...
24th Dec 2007, 05:48 AM
Riddle: I understand...
Though he really didn't understand. This is, to him, the only logical course of action to take. He cares deeply for Sara, and not only that, she is pregnant with their child. Is there really much doubt to what needs to be done?
T'lei and Lyar force open the door to Candy's quarters and are shocked by the brutal scene in front of them. Candy lays in the floor on her stomach in a puddle of blood. Crimson soaks her thin, pink lace nightgown and immaculate blonde strands of hair. Her dead fingers claw into the generic, beige carpet. T'lei approaches the body to check for a pulse, but only feels the deep gash going back to her spine.
T'lei: *hits comm badge* Lt. T'lei to captain Patton, there has been a homicide in the crew quarters.
24th Dec 2007, 06:05 AM
Sara cringes as she taps her combadge.
Capt. Patton: Get Shashar, I'm heading down there. *to Riddle* Maybe I'd feel better if we could actually talk interupted...
24th Dec 2007, 06:19 AM
Riddle: I completely agree with you on that- I better get to the lab, unless you need me.
Security seals the room off and Kezi is already at the scene, arriving just moments after Lt. Cmdr. Shashar.
Kezi: Looks like a pretty straight forward murder to me... They severed both carotid arteries, her trachea, esophagus, its pretty much a clean cut all the way to her spine... It looks like it was done with some kind of smooth, metal blade, titanium perhaps. A single, hand held weapon.... almost like an ancient slaughterhouse kill.
Shashar: Well, blade murders aren't unheard of, ensign... but it seems strange to leave a body, why not just dematerialize it?
Kezi: If i had to guess, I would say that they left it here for a reason. But I am not a psychologist.
24th Dec 2007, 08:45 PM
Name and Rank: Lt. jg. Ando Takei
Species/Homeworld: Human born Tokyo, Japan
A brief sentence or two describing your personality: Ando is soft spoken, sensitive and very shy. Although he loathes violence, he is proficient in his job as profiler. His hobbies include writing poetry and collecting ancient Hitchcock films. Because of his gently nature people tend to underestimate him.
24th Dec 2007, 08:58 PM
*OOC* I'll post properly after christmas, we'll just say my charas have been away or something because I've missed so much through this damn cold that I no longer know whats going on. I guess Zan was due for a trip home anyway.
24th Dec 2007, 09:03 PM
OOC: They could have been on the space station Mikoyo80
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
25th Dec 2007, 01:08 AM
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
25th Dec 2007, 05:26 AM
OOC: Happy christmas/chanukah/kwanza everyone!
27th Dec 2007, 06:19 AM
Capt. Patton: I don't believe so... We'll see each other later, then.
Patton marches up to Sashar from the 'lift.
Capt. Patton: What has happened now, Lieutenant?
27th Dec 2007, 06:50 AM
Shashar: She was murdered... they slashed her throat. It looks professional, no hesitation marks or anything.
At this moment, a Crewman Gore walks up to them.
Gore: Sorry to interrupt sir, but the holographic records of this room have been completely wiped.
Shashar: Are you sure?
Gore: Aye sir, absolutely.
Shashar: Thank you crewman. *waits for Gore to leave* Like i said, this is professional. It takes quite a bit of expertise to circumvent ship security and wipe records like that.
27th Dec 2007, 07:17 AM
Capt. Patton: Indeed it does... Does this woman have any prior records? Anything to warrent a professional hitman?
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Katian tosses and turns for at least an hour before giving up on sleep and returning to the living room. Lennox was at the dining table going through different PADDs.
Katian: Sorry, love, but I couldn't fall asleep... I think I'll just get a head start on the breakfast crowd in Ten-Forward.
27th Dec 2007, 07:24 AM
Shashar: Well, she has had five complaints against her for sexual harassment, but was never charged. And she was suspended from the academy for plagiarism. But none of that warrants a professional hit.
A moment later two medics are transported away with the corpse to sickbay.
Shashar: Thats all we have until the autopsy results come in, captain.
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Lennox leans back in his seat and looks up at Kati. Even when sleep deprived, she is quite beautiful.
Lennox: Alright, darling. I have to go to sickbay anyway, there has been another murder.
27th Dec 2007, 07:36 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Katian: *frowns* I'm sorry to hear that... Please be careful, Lennox.
She kisses him lightly before leaving for the lounge.
Patton watches the body disappear before turning back to the Cheif of Security.
Capt. Patton: Very well. Keep me informed of any leads. The last thing we need is a serial killer on top of everything else...
27th Dec 2007, 08:33 AM
Lt. jg. Takei has just received a transfer request, he has to report to the Maverick on the double. Apparently their have been a string of murders and they need somebody with expertise in profiling. Ando Takei sighs sometimes he wonders why he choose this line of work. He skims the PADD's about the cases before he reports to the Maverick.
Lt. jg Takei arrives on the Maverick and decides to start on the case right away. He enters security but doesn't find Lt. cmdr. Shashar.
Lt. jg. Takei: *almost whispering* Excuse me crewman where can I find cmdr. Shashar?
27th Dec 2007, 08:43 AM
Name and Rank: crewman 1st class Er-Gon
A brief sentence or two describing your personality: Er-Gon is an outcast on his homeworld because he doesn't have a twin. His parents have disowned him and it's nearly impossible for him to find a job because of his undesirable status. He considers Star Fleet as his family and tries to life up to the highest standards possible.
(ooc: for more information on the Miradorn http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Miradorn))
27th Dec 2007, 08:48 AM
Shashar: Aye sir, I will.
Kezi and Lennox stand over the body of Candice Wyatt. She is naked and covered in crimson, flaking dried blood. Lennox prepares the instruments for autopsy and Kezi is overcome with a flood of disjointed images and sounds. Her head spins and she feels suddenly sick to her stomach.
Lennox: Alright, ensign... Kezi, are you alright?
Kezi: *crying* I can't do this right now!
Kezi backs into the wall and slides to the floor, vertigo, panic, and fear consuming her. Lennox goes to her side to try to help.
Lennox: Are you alright?
Kezi: No, I'm just... I can't be here right now.
Lennox: Maybe you should go see one of the counselors?
Kezi: No, I won't abandon my post!
Lennox: I can do the autopsy myself, at least take some time off.
Kezi: No, I... I need to work.
Lennox: Well I have much more responsibility to my living my patients than to the dead, so at the very least, go to the lab and catch up on your paperwork.
Kezi decides to take the doctors advice and leaves the morgue. As soon as she does, it feels as if a weight has lifted from her. She doesn't understand what came over her, but the sight of that corpse triggered something. She makes her way to the lab as ordered.
Vixya makes their way to the bar, their nose buried in about five different PADDs covering everything from the mornings homicides to the biopsy results of ill crew members. They unwittingly bump into a crewmember who shoves them back in return.
Ens. Lyar: What! Are you blind, freak? Watch where you're going, she-male!
Vixya: S-sorry... I didn't mean to... sorry.
They continue walking to the bar to order breakfast. They can't understand this obsession that other species have regarding gender specification, why does it even matter? Their entire life, Vixya has dealt with abuse from their peers for being different and always resented it. They sit down at the bar and wait to take their order, hoping no one else will try to pick a fight with them.
Kezi goes back to her normal work station, passing Sharpp on the way.
Kezi: Good morning, sir, how are you?
Sharpp: *gloomy* Hm? Oh... fine, how are you?
Kezi: I've been better. I got kicked out of the morgue today because I completly lost it. There was something about that corpse... I never liked Candy.
Sharpp: I... I heard about the murder.
Kezi: Everyone's heard about it. All the people on this ship and not a single witness, its weird. Even the holo-logs were erased. To think theres a killer among us.
Sharpp: No witnesses... yeah, that is weird. *nervous* Its been nice talking to you, I better get back to work!
Sharpp disappears to the other side of the room and Kezi goes to her station. She begins her work, but can't quite focus on it, her mind wandering, wondering what happened to her in the morgue a few minutes ago and why Lt. Sharpp is so damned paranoid all the time.
27th Dec 2007, 08:54 AM
OOC: I too got the new Miradorn skin, motom. You just beat me to making a sim with it! ;)
27th Dec 2007, 08:59 AM
Lt. Shrall: He was called away to a homicide in the crew quarters. *looks apprasingly* You new here... *notes pips* Lieutenant?
Barclay qucikly walks into the lab, passing a very nervous Sharpp. He spots Kezi and makes it to her station.
Lt. Barclay: *quietly* K-kezi... W-we need to talk about... *motions to his pocket* Y'know...
Kati sets down a dish of hasperat in front of a Trill officer before making her way to the end, where a very lonely person was sitting buried in PADDs.
Katian: *cheerfully* Good morning. Can I get you something?
27th Dec 2007, 09:08 AM
Vixya: *sighs* What do humans usually have, toast eggs, and baccon? I'll have that... *to themself* so much violence, hatred....
Kezi leads Reg to a quiet part of the lab.
Kezi: What is it?
Shashar sticks close by and watches two security officers seal off the nurse's room. He personally never liked her, but couldn't understand how someone could do something like this.
Shashar: Alright everyone, get back to security and get to work on this investigation in conjunction with the others. We have the full cooperation of the science team as always. Dismissed.
He himself heads back to security with the others.
27th Dec 2007, 09:09 AM
Lt. jg. Takei: *blushing* Yes I'm transferred from Starbase 194, I'm a profiler. Tell me who is taking care of the autopsy of the new victim?
Lt. jg Takei feels himself blushing as usually. He never mastered the skill to talk to people without getting self conscience. He tries to convey an aura of professionalism but only manages a shy smile and a deeper shade of crimson.
((ooc: sorry Spiderviveka when I found the skin I just had to make a Sim with it))
27th Dec 2007, 09:27 AM
Lt. Shrall: The CMO, Doctor Lennox, I believe. He's usually the one to complete the autopsy reports... And we've had a number of them. Would you like me to page Lieutenant Shashar for you?
Katian: Those are attrubutes of many cultures, no matter how advanced. Sometimes its taught, sometimes its genetics. *smiles softly* Sorry, I suppose you wanted breakfast instead of a speech... I'll get your eggs and bacon.
She walks to the replicator and orders Terran Breakfast 22-Alpha.
Reg glances around nervously before speaking.
Lt. Barclay: I g-got in contact with my... Er... Contact, but something isn't right... They o-ordered I destroy t-the blood... But I didn't...
He pulls the vial out of his pocket and holds it up for Kezi.
Lt. Barclay: He k-knew it was you that got it... And t-that we are in a relationship... There n-not supposed to be watching my personal life!
27th Dec 2007, 09:32 AM
Lt. jg. Takei: I'm aware of it, that's why I was assigned to the Maverick to determine if their is any connection between the murders.
27th Dec 2007, 09:34 AM
Kezi: *whispers* Are you in touch with section 31? I thought you said that thing could get me killed!
Lt. Cmdr. Shashar walks through the doors of enginnering to be greeted by the new face of a science officer and Lt. Shrall.
Shashar: Can I help you, gentlemen?
Vixya smiles up at Kati as she hands them their food.
Vixya: It doesn't make it any less futile... there was yet another murder this morning. My crewmates seem to detest me and anyone else whom is different from themselves. Its really all so pointless.
27th Dec 2007, 09:43 AM
Katian: Another attribute to evoloution is the fear of anything different, but it's far from pointless. At least I feel it isn't. What exactly is so bad about being different, anyway? If we were all the same, life would be dull and uneventful... And some ingorance on other's part isn't enough to change that...
Lt. Barclay: N-no! Or at least I d-don't think so... Admiral Picard s-said that having a middle man w-would keep things m-more secure... I d-don't know anything else...
27th Dec 2007, 09:51 AM
Lt. jg. Takei: *beet red* Commander, I'm the profiler you requested. *hold out his hand* Lieutenant Takei *quickly retreats his hand* reporting for duty.
CPO Tigan and crewman Er-Gon are studying the schematics of the dominion weapon. It's design is ingenious and at the same time perverse.
CPO Tigan: I don't understand why anybody would want to build such a weapon.
Crewman Er-Gon: It's an efficient way to scare your enemy.
CPO Tigan: I guess your right but still.
Both men work further in silence, PO Tigan is studying the biological components of the weapon. The biological components are somewhat similar to the components used in Insectiods Xindi weapons. Whomever is behind all this is playing with fire.
27th Dec 2007, 09:52 AM
Kezi: Well Reg, somehow I have a hard time believing that Admiral Picard is spying on my... I mean, who is he working for?
Vixya: *shakes head* Many days I wish I would have been born any species but J'naii... But then they're days like today, where people brutally kill members of their own kind, and I'm glad I'm so different after all.
27th Dec 2007, 10:01 AM
Katian: It's horrible that some still resort to murder... Violence is overrated. *smiles* Would you like something to drink with you eggs and bacon?
Reg loks away ashamed and feeling guilty.
Lt. Barclay: I... Don't know... Oh, Kezi. I'm s-so sorry about all of t-this. I n-never would have dragged you into it...
27th Dec 2007, 10:03 AM
((ooc: have to go the university library to read up on Tangney, see you all later))
27th Dec 2007, 10:05 AM
(((OOC: Bed actually sounds good. Luck for your research, motom!)))
27th Dec 2007, 10:06 AM
Vixya pauses for a moment and thinks.
Vixya: I would like some coca-cola, please. No ice.
Kezi: Reg, I don't blame you for this... but I'm really starting to get scared. People are turning up dead everywhere and... and now this. Its really unnerving.
27th Dec 2007, 10:08 AM
OOC: I suppose I will be around later as well, then. Goodnight guys.
27th Dec 2007, 12:26 PM
Raian entered Ten-Forward having just returned from Starbase 194. He had had a long chat with a Trill Counsellor, who just so happened to be posted on the station, and he felt a little better for it and ready to start over. He didn't know a lot about what had happened on board the Maverik since he had disembarked earlier, although he had of course heard of the quarantine, although he was sure he would be briefed once he returned to duty. He noticed the J'naii ensign sitting by themself and decided to try and be welcoming as they were obviously new. He smiled at Katian, who had been serving his fellow ensign, and he looked at them, gesturing toward the free chair.
Ensign Zan: Hey, mind if I sit down? Oh, hi Katian. Long time no see, how've you been?
27th Dec 2007, 06:27 PM
Name and Rank: Lt. Halima Dao
Species/Homeworld: unjoined Trill
Position: senior geologist
27th Dec 2007, 06:34 PM
Lt. cmdr. Shashar: Welcome aboard *taps combadge* Ensign Zan I'm sending the latest incident rapports to your PADD.
Lt. cmdr. Shashar wonders if Lt. jg. Takei has the nerve to work this case, his body language doesn't inspire great thrust to say the least. His Betazoid empathic abilities pick up on the fact he is terrible self conscious but also a determination that you couldn't tell by just looking at him.
27th Dec 2007, 06:48 PM
The ensign rolled his eyes as the communication from his superior officer came in and tapped his badge in response. He wasn't due to return to duty for an hour unless asked but it was nice to be kept informed.
Ensign Zan: Thankyou sir, Zan out.
As he sat down, without really thinking that his invitation was yet to be accepted, he wondered what the heck could have happened now as he examined his PADD and sat down at the table without thinking. He frowned as he read over the report of yet another murder but it didn't seem to be connected to the previous ones. He knew who the culprit was of the last two and wondered if he had been fully apprehended as he had been confused about the whole investigation. Still, now that he was thinking straight he would be more of an asset to his fellow crew-mates and would have an easier time keeping up with events. It then occured to him that his fellow ensign had failed to respond and looked up at him/her.
Ensign Zan: Oh, sorry about that. You don't mind do you? The names Zan anyway but seeing as I'm off duty you can call me Raian if you like.
27th Dec 2007, 06:54 PM
Lt. Woods is getting bored by the lack of substantial things to do in his sickbed. Also the pain is getting unbearable, so he tries to get the attention from somebody of the nursing staff.
Lt. Woods: Does a patient have to die to receive some medical care.
27th Dec 2007, 07:03 PM
Tiger had been run off of her feet lately as Sickbay had suddenly become the busiest place on the ship. Not only that but it seemed to be the centre of various incidents and the catian seriously hoped that there would be no more of those. She noticed the lietenant calling for attention and she approached him.
Ensign Frasier: Hiya, what can I do ya for? I mean, how are you feeling today Lietenant? You look bored outta you're mind.
27th Dec 2007, 07:10 PM
Lt. Woods: Yes I am nurse, but that's not what's troubling me. The pain of the disruptor wound is getting worse again. Ah *grabs to his stomach his hands getting stained by blood*
27th Dec 2007, 07:18 PM
*OOC* See you later
Tiger grabbed a hypospray and looked around for the nearest doctor, who happened to be Dr Rii. It seemed that Dr Lennox was still busy with the autopsy of the ships latest murder victim but that didn't seem to relevant right now. As the cardassian doctor quickly approached, an explanation of the problem was unneccessary and with Tiger's help began to stem the bleeding so that they could stitch the wound.
27th Dec 2007, 07:25 PM
Thanks to the quick response of Dr. Rii and Nurse Frasier Lt. Wood's condition is quickly stabilized.
Doctor Rii: Nurse Frasier, please send this blood sample to the lab for further analysis. It seems the Romulan weapon has some unforeseen effects. I hope that stitching him up will do the trick, it's not exactly standard procedure but conventional procedures don't seem to work here.
27th Dec 2007, 10:08 PM
Lt. Barclay: I k-know... But... But perhaps w-we can do something... I don't w-want to put you in anymore danger, Kezi, but if we did look closer into t-this blood sample... *trails off*
Katian: Coca-Cola? That's an ancient one... *to Zan, smiles* Hello again, Ensign. I've been well considering... Can I get you some breakfast?
27th Dec 2007, 11:11 PM
Raian nodded and smiled.
Ensign Zan: Yeah, tell me about it. Between Romulans and telepaths I've got enough of a headache but add homocidal psychos into the mix and it may be safer to ask for a transfer. Not that I would or anything. Anyway, to answer your question I think I'll have a Jibalian Omelette.
Tiger nods and takes the sample as she had been instructed. It was true that stitches were rarely used in modern medicine but as the doctor had said, standard procedures didn't seem to work. She smiled to Lt Woods before leaving for the lab
27th Dec 2007, 11:37 PM
Lt. Woods balks at his ordeal. The painkillers had no effect whatsoever and to top it of he's being sewed together like some rag doll. He gives the nurse a painful smile at that moment his son Tobias walks in to check on his dad. The young Catian boy looks distressed, his ears lay flat on his head and his eyes are bloodshot.
Cadet Woods: Heya dad
Lt. Woods: *groaning* What's the matter Tobias?
Cadet Woods: nothing dad, I'll talk about it later. So how are you feeling
Lt. Woods: just peachy son.
Doctor Rii: Sorry to bother you lieutenant but I'm going to administer some drugs to prevent infection and some pain relief
Lt. Woods: Sounds like a plan
Doctor Rii starts his treatment of Lt. Woods, the new bioscans aren't good apparently the clotting factors in Lt. Wood's blood are being destroyed at an increasingly alarming rate. The hypospray he administer will counter some of the effects but he can't make a good diagnosis without the lab results. For now he has the chief stabilized.
Doctor Rii: *taps combadge* Nurse Frasier, as soon as we get those results back I want them. Could you please see to it.
27th Dec 2007, 11:49 PM
The Catian woman had already left Sickbay and entered the medical lab, sample in hand. She approaches one of the technicians and hands them the sample.
Ensign Frasier: Hi, we've got a bit of a difficult patient and we need this sample analyzing asap. I think it's something to do with the weapon that struck him earlier. Can ya give Dr Rii a call in Sickbay when you're done? thanks!
27th Dec 2007, 11:55 PM
Crewman Winter: Aye ma'am
The young crewman starts his analyzes right away within the hour the computer has processed and identified the sample.
Crewman Winter: *taps combadge* The sample is ready and analyzed sir I will send the results to your workstation.
28th Dec 2007, 12:34 AM
28th Dec 2007, 12:36 AM
((same here goodnight))
28th Dec 2007, 07:19 AM
Kezi frowns and looks down at the vile that Reg is still holding.
Kezi: As humans might say, we are stuck between a stone and a hard place... I already drew their attention out, and they are going to know if we analyze it... But I think its the right thing to do.
Vixya eats their breakfast and listens to Zan and Katian talk. Their conversation seems so natural, so fluid.
Vixya: *to no one in particular* It seems we have more exciting missions than the enterprise. And thats what they're legendary for.
28th Dec 2007, 07:51 AM
Katian: *passing the omelet to Zan and the Coca-Cola to Vixya* So my godmother told me... She was the lounge hostess and bartender on the Enterprise-D. Some of my favorite stories come from Guinan's time on that ship...
Lt. Barclay: They won't know n-necessarily... I mean, when I was in contact, I monitered every ascpet of t-the communication I know their monitoring frenquency, I can j-jam the signal... I think... But we have to do it in a controled area. Like m-my quarters. I already have s-some anti-spy technology.
28th Dec 2007, 08:06 AM
Vixya: Really? I remember my progenitor telling me about their sibling who apparently fell in love with a male from that ship. Of course, we studied the Enterprise D's missions in the academy as well.
Kezi works hard to keep a straight face after his last comment. But, she soon looses it and starts giggling uncontrollably. Her boyfriend really is some kind of secret agent!
Kezi: You have anti spy gear! *keeps laughing* I'm sorry, its not funny... but, this is all just so bizarre! Spies and conspiracies! *becomes somber* I am utterly terrified...
28th Dec 2007, 08:18 AM
Zan laughed a little as he was handed his omelette.
Ensign Zan: Oh we heard all about the enterprise alright, the adventures of Jean Luc Picard and crew are legend. Wonder if our very own Captain Patton and the Maverik will ever be as well known? I think we are starting to get a name but I don't think it's a very good one! (To Vixya) Anyway, didn't catch your name.
28th Dec 2007, 08:23 AM
Lt. Barclay: *sighs* Well, what else w-would you call it? *pauses* But, Kezi... If you don't want anymore involvement in t-this... Then I can't a-ask you to. I understand...
28th Dec 2007, 08:29 AM
Kezi: *smiles weakly* We're in this together now Reg. When should we get started?
Vixya looks over at Zan, feeling slightly embarrassed.
Vixya: *timid* Oh, my name's Vixya. Whats yours?
28th Dec 2007, 08:39 AM
Reg returns the smile and kisses Keiz on the forehead.
Lt. Barclay: N-not now... I'm still on medical leave f-for my shoulder... After your shift?
28th Dec 2007, 08:51 AM
Kezi: As our Vulcan friends would say, that sounds logical... I still have a neck deep pile of paperwork to sift through.
28th Dec 2007, 09:04 AM
Lt. Barclay: Okay...
Reg kisses her one more time before turning to leave...
Lt. Barclay: A-and, Kezi... I do love you...
28th Dec 2007, 03:14 PM
The young Trill scratches the back of his head. It seems that his fellow ensign was rather distracted and missed his introduction. He took a mouthful of omelette, not quite realising how hungry he was. He at least finished his mouthful before introducing himself again.
Ensign Zan: It's Zan but you can call me Yulia, ah I mean Raian, if you like. Sorry, the joys of being joined, heh heh. Anyway, what do you think of the good ship Maverik so far? I take it you just joined us?
28th Dec 2007, 06:20 PM
Doctor Rii studies the lab results, he had to see them to belief them. Apparently the weapon introduced an engineered virus in the chiefs bloodstream designed to make the victim slowly bleed to death internally. Luckily hemoglobin replacement therapy could easily solve the problem.
Doctor Rii: Nurse, please prepare Lt. Woods for complete blood replacement therapy. I will alert doctor Lennox of this problem. We probably should reexamine all patient who were shot by this weapon, just in case.
28th Dec 2007, 08:32 PM
Vixya absent mindedly rearranges their food with their fork.
Vixya: I've been here since we first departed from space dock... but I spend most of my time in the lab and have been on sick leave since the Romulan attack. I will say this for the Maverick, our short voyage has not been boring.
They had been shot while in engineering, but the main reason for the medical leave was their mental state. They have always had a difficult time relating to multi-gendered species. Vixya had been attacked three years ago by a group of males at a pub in Utopia. Police ruled it a hate crime, mainly due to the violent sexual overtures. But, Vixya narrowly escaped with their life and has dealt with the psychological repercussions ever since. And for some reason, when they were shot in engineering, they suffered a bit of a psychological break.
In fact, this has been the most social interaction they have had since being stationed aboard the Maverick.
Kezi: I know Reg, I love you too.
Kezi watches the engineer leave before returning to her station. Lt. Sharpp still fidgets in the corner. It appears that he is merely attempting to seem busy, rather than actually working. For a moment, Kezi is almost tempted to probe his mind, to see what is wrong with him, but the impulse passes. Such behavior goes against everything that she, and every other Vorta has been taught since childhood. The sharing of thoughts is an incredibly intimate act, and should never be initiated without the consent of all persons involved. Still, it seems sometimes that it would be so much easier to just reach in and touch someone.
Milo tries desperately to seem occupied. He can't help but wonder how the investigatiion of Candy's death is going. He knows that no one will see her death as any real loss, except perhaps the men she brought back to her quarters every night. She certainly was a lot better at luring them in than performing any actual duty on the ship.
Still, he is haunted with the image of The Crewman pressing that knife into her throat. And a part of him knows for a fact that her death at that specific instant was no coincidence. Obviously, The Crewman was trying to get to him, right? He tries to shrug it off as more of his usual paranoid antics, but there is a corpse in the morgue due to what he had previously tried write off as a hallucination.
Lennox finishes the autopsy report for Candice Wyatt and places her corpse back into stasis. He wonders who will contact her family. For someone who spent so much time in his sickbay, he knows so little about her. What he does know is rather unpleasent, though. Her lurid behavior and overall lack of self respect was disturbing.
Even more disturbing were the results of her autopsy. Aside from her rather forward sexual habits. she had apparently been consuming large quantities of narcotics on the regular basis. The abuse she put her body through was ridiculous. If it weren't for the glaring inconsistencies in her death, the lack of the weapon, the complete lack of any evidence at all, he would have been tempted to rule it a suicide.
Verrik left his shift in sickbay exhausted and colapses in his chair. He feels like he lives there. With all the chaos, it seems any hopes of a relationship with Lirra has gone down the tubes. As the head nurse, everyone looks to him for assistance. They want him to be the middle man between themselves and the chief medical officer. For some reason, the entire nursing staff has formed a phobia of artificial lifeforms.
His room is freezing to most, but he never can get it cold enough. Sometimes he wishes that he had joined the Andorian Imperial Guard, but its obvious that he would never pass the combat training. Even as a medic, the prospect of violence is far too great. He once heard an analogy that Andorians are simply, more intelligent and arrogant, blue versions of Klingons. Though he tends to disagree, certainly there are similarities in the two cultures, but you never hear of Andorians shunning scientific progress, or murdering their own kin in some bizare quest for honor.
There is a picture above his desk of his brother and two sisters. He remembers taking it just before leaving for the academy. He hasn't seen them sense, occasionally they will send a subspace transmission. At times he can't even remember why he left Andoria. Was it some lust for adventure? The need for something different? And how at times like this, he craves to be at home among his kin in the vast ice caverns of Andor.
28th Dec 2007, 08:46 PM
Doctor Rii has started the blood replacement therapy on Lt. Woods. The chief engineering is put into an artificial sleep to prevent damage to his nervous system.
Doctor Rii: *taps combadge* Doctor Lennox, you are needed in sickbay.
Lt. Li is running the isolinear rod but so far the recording has not revealed a signal piece of new evidence. Edo begins to wonder if this isolinear rod has been a distraction of sorts. Suddenly the doors of the holodeck open.
Lt. Li: Computer end program. Oh it's you commander Shashar, how can I help you?
Lt. cmdr. Shashar: Sorry lieutenant I didn't mean to startle you. I want you to assist Lieutenant Takei with his duties, he is our new profiler.
Lt. Li: Of course sir, will that be all?
Lt. cmdr. Shashar: Yes lieutenant.
After Lt. cmdr. Shashar leaves the holodeck, Lt. li starts the recordings again. It's a tedious conversation between the disgraced Admiral Gral and Gul Asar about the humanitarian help to some of Cardassia's remote outposts, Lt. Li wonders what he is missing here. Why would anybody bother to encrypt this conversation as if it was a matter of intergalactic security. There must be something he is not seeing but what? Lt. Li is chewing on a stray lock of his hair and than he sees something surprising almost shocking.
Lt. Li: computer freeze program, isolate grid omega 214 and magnify by a factor of ten. Computer clean up image.
The face of Asho Daro is staring at him. Why would a Cardassian former archon, that was presumed death, be on Cardassia Prime and in the company of a Federation Admiral and the military liaison officer. Lt. Li begins to wonder if this conversation is being conducted under some kind of secret code. At any rate it's clearly not about humanitarian help for those colonies.
28th Dec 2007, 09:05 PM
A few moments later, Lennox strides into sickbay.
Lennox: What do you need, doctor?
28th Dec 2007, 09:08 PM
OOC: With the permission of edejen, First Officer Cmdr. Bijaj and Ship's Counselor D'la have indefinately been made NPCs.
28th Dec 2007, 09:11 PM
Doctor Rii: I'm afraid the weapons used by the Romulans could be more damaging than originally thought Sir. Look at this blood sample of Lt. Wood, his clothing factors are being destroyed by a nanovirus, I had the replace every blood cell in his body and put him on some very danger drugs to prevent he bleeds out internally. So far Lt. Woods seems to be the only one suffering this effect but I think we should reexamine all shooting victims to see if they are experiencing similar symptoms.
28th Dec 2007, 09:19 PM
Lennox: That is a good idea... If the other victims are not being effected, we need to find out why. Perhaps there is something unique about his physiology, or perhaps he was shot with a different weapon entirely, or perhaps the weapon malfunctioned, or perhaps it mutated upon entering his body after coming in contact with an unknown substance that acted as a catalyst... Sorry. I am being overly speculative.
28th Dec 2007, 09:27 PM
Doctor Rii: I agree with you doctor, we can't rule out anything at this moment.
A shy and scared looking junior lieutenant enters sickbay. It's a rather handsome oriental male in his late late thirties, he blushes when one of the nurse addresses him and points at doctor Lennox. He walks over to the two doctors all the time looking at his feet as if he is a punished schoolboy.
Lt. jg. Takei: *barely more than a whisper* Doctor Lennox, you were in charge of the autopsy if I'm not mistaken Sir. I need to go over the results with you, if you have the time of course Sir.
Ando feels his cheeks going red, why can't he speak to anybody without blushing. He stares at his hands as he awaits an answer.
28th Dec 2007, 09:39 PM
Lennox: *jokingly* I have plenty of time, there hasn't been a shooting or murder in over an hour... As for Candy, her autopsy confirmed her cause of death was from hypoperfusion, resulting from a deep laceration to her throat, severing her carotid arteries, trachea, and all of the tissue down to her spine. It was a clean cut, no hesitation marks, and obviously made by a second person standing behind her. She had apparently consumed 1.482 grams of wheat cereal before her death, and had excessive amounts of morphine and felicium in her system.
28th Dec 2007, 09:44 PM
Lt. jg. Takei: *gulping* was there any DNA evidence present on the body? Do you have any idea doctor why somebody wanted to hurt miss Wyatt or that their were any connections between her and the other victims?
28th Dec 2007, 10:13 PM
Candy:There was no DNA present. Candy had a bit of a reputation. Several crew members filed sexual harassment complaints against her, but I doubt any of those individuals would have motive to kill her... As for the other murder victims, I do not know how they would have been connected. They were cadets, she was an officer. They were all different species, and to my knowledge, they never interacted. But, i do not have much experience in criminology, so you tell me, lieutenant.
28th Dec 2007, 10:25 PM
Lt. jg. Takei: *Thinking out loud* Well on the surface it certainly appears that the victims were chosen random but all of them were not well liked among the crew and at least two of them had bad reputations, except El Maliki nobody seems to have even noticed him at all.
Ando wonders if the unsolved attack on ensign Tahlandi would help him to some answers. He stares at doctor Lennox for a moment thinking about his next move.
Lt. jg. Takei: Did you find DNA on the other victims or anything to could be helpful? Sir
28th Dec 2007, 10:28 PM
Lennox: No, nothing of the sort. It might aid you to speak to Ensign Kezi, she is the forensic scientist aboard, I think she might be more helpful than I am.
28th Dec 2007, 10:32 PM
Lt. jg. Takei: Yes yes I'll do that, thank you sir.
As the socially inept officer leaves sickbay Doctor Rii turns towards Doctor Lennox.
Doctor Rii: What did you make of him, he doesn't strike me as very competent.
Lt. jg. Takei: Computer locate ensign Kezi
28th Dec 2007, 10:52 PM
Richie had fallen asleep once again after convincint Tara that he didn't really need to go to Sickbay. She had left for her duty shift hours ago. Richie rolled over onto his side and felt something wet. He cracked his eyes open and found a large red stain covering most of the bed.
Lt. Kimble: Ah! Goddammit! *taps combadge on nightstand* Kimble to Sickbay... I could use some help!
28th Dec 2007, 11:08 PM
Lennox: I do not know for certain, as I have little knowledge on which to base a conclusion regarding his competence. However, social anxiety is in no way related to intelligence. Some of the best officers I have known are considered quite socially inept.
A moment after Kimble calls, the EMH materializes in his room.
EMH: Please state the nature of the medical emergency... *sees the blood* What did you do? Pick a fight with a vulcan hedgehog and lose?
Kezi spins on her lab stool as she reads over the autopsy report, professional execution for sure.
Meanwhile, Sharpp makes up his mind that he has to at least alert the captain on the presence of The Crewman. He feels its too sensitive to tell anyone else.
Sharpp: Computer, locate Captain Patton.
28th Dec 2007, 11:17 PM
Lt. Kimble: *hissing in pain* No... I think my bio stiching has come undone...
EMH: Leave the diagnosis to the professionals, Mister Kimble...
The hologram scans the Lieutenant and frowns.
EMH: *taps combadge* EMH to Sickbay. We have another patient with similar conditions to Lieutenant Woods... I'd advise against beaming him in. Could I get an antigrav strecher and team to Lieutenant Kimble's quarters?
28th Dec 2007, 11:22 PM
Lt. jg. Takei enters the labs and walks towards ensign Kezi
Lt. jg. Takei: excuse me, are you ensign Kezi *said in a small voice*
Doctor Rii: Yes you are right of course but still one can't deny that his demeanor doesn't exactly inspires trust.
Lt. Li is still buzzy analyzing the recordings, he is buzzy trying to break the code admiral Gral and Gul Asar are using. Also he is trying to find out who else was there in the room besides Daro.
Lt. Li: computer identify the person in section alpha grid C25
Computer: Ambassador Verak El Maliki
28th Dec 2007, 11:44 PM
Dr. Vieth: *taps com badge* Aye, doctor, a team of medics are on their way.
Kezi turns and smiles at the nervous science officer. Even with the recent grim developments, her cheerful personality shines through.
Kezi: *grinning* The one and only! Can I help you, sir?
Sharpp manages to slip onto the bridge unnoticed and presses the buzzer to the door of the captain's ready room. He waits anxiously and hopes that some crewman or ensign doesn't ask dumbly what he is doing there, or if they can help him with anything. He knows he never comes on the bridge, but really, they act as if hes an alien invader on the rare occasion that he does.
28th Dec 2007, 11:54 PM
Cmdr. Bijaj: *spots Sharpp* Can I help you mister *low danger growl*
Lt. jg. Takei: Yes, eh I need to go over the autopsy reports with you. I'm attempting to make a profile of the perpetrator or perpetrators. *looking like a tomato*
*Corridors en route to Lt. Kimble's quarters*
sh'Raazh is in a foul mood, she just had her first counseling session and the Klingon counselor suggested that she should learn to control her anger and put her on an anger management therapy. Of all the species a Klingon is telling her that she is hotheaded. She hopes Richie is doing better, when she left he was fast asleep. As she approaches his quarters she sees a medical team arriving panic starts to rise as she drops the bottle of Vulcan wine and runs towards a medic.
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: What's going on? Richie ...
29th Dec 2007, 12:33 AM
"Oh no." He thinks... for as long as Milo can remember, it seems that he has been the bane of every Klingons existence. Everywhere he goes, they seem to want to take out their plentiful aggression on him. Every damned one of them is out to get him, they smell his fear and weakness and hunt him down like an animal. This seems paranoid, sure, but to him its accurate. And now the Klingon first officer faces him down.
Sharpp: *gulps* Ummm... No, I don't believe you can help me. Its urgent that I speak to the captain.
Kezi: Sounds great, what do you want to know?
Kezi wonders if the blood sample that she had collected was in any way related to this. Sure, its owner is long gone, but Reg all but professed the presence of Section 31 on the ship, perhaps they have been behind everything all along.
Medic Winter: Calm down sir, we're doing everything we can for him. His wound re-opened and he's lost a lot of blood.
29th Dec 2007, 12:48 AM
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: Oh no, how did this happen?
sh'Raazh is completely panic stricken she couldn't bare losing Richie. She somehow manages to keep a calm demeanor but on the inside she is screaming.
Cmdr. Bijaj: Show some respect for your commanding officers p'tak. Everything you tell the captain can be told to my. Or do you want to be thrown into the bridge for insubordination.
Commander Bijaj is towering over poor Milo with her typical Klingon attitude. She will instill order in this star fleet p'taks if they like it or not. This feeble human will not disrespect her.
Lt. jg. Takei: Did you find anything out of the ordinary on the bodies?
Besides the fact that they were brutally murdered, Ando thinks to himself.
29th Dec 2007, 01:03 AM
Winter: We aren't sure, sir.
Winter helps load Kimble onto the stretcher and the other two medics start running down the hall with it.
Winter: You can follow us.
Sharpp is somewhat frightened and angry at this point. So he decides to do what he always does when in a confrontation with Klingons.
Sharpp: Apparently you have illusions of grandeur, commander. There are many things that I may tell the captain but not you. So lock me in the brig if you want, but I will talk to her, come hell or high water!
Ok, so this wasn't the wisest reaction. "Shit" he thinks. "I hope I don't get my skull crushed again... I'm not even drunk."
Kezi: There were narcotics in Wyatt's system and trace amounts of... cryptoflorohydrozine... the pharmaceutical name is cryptozine, its typically used to treat amnesia, psychosis, and anxiety.
29th Dec 2007, 01:08 AM
Patton was listening to a particulary loud selection of Andorian Blues. She closed her eyes and let the music take control...
A note was off. Which, she knew, was impossible for the computer.
Capt. Patton: Computer, halt playback. *computer beep* What was that off note?
Computer: Lieutenant Junior Grade Sharpp Has Requested Entrance.
Capt. Patton: Ah... *louder* Come in!
29th Dec 2007, 01:16 AM
Cmdr. Bijaj: Lt. cmdr. Shashar escort this gentlemen to the brig, I will deal with you later p'tak. You Fedies really need a course in proper manners.
Cmdr. Bijaj in her rage doesn't notice that the captain has allowed Lt. jg. Sharpp into her ready room.
Lt. jg. Takei: And the others, any drugs in their system?
Ando isn't surprised that a nurse had drugs in her system, it was not unheard of that medical personal develops a hunger for the medicine cabinet and it's contents.
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: Hang on Richie, yes I will escort you to sickbay.
Lt. Li enters Strategic ops before he goes to the captain with his findings he wants to discuss them with cmdr. M'Ress and Lt. cmdr. Shashar.
Lt. Li: cmdr. Shashar could you please come to stratic ops I have important information.
((ooc: goodnight, the information is that Gral and ambassador El Maliki were selling classified technology to Daro and the Romulans/Remans. El Maliki is the uncle of the murdered cadet. If needed use Lt. Li just don't do anything to crazy with him :howdy: ))
29th Dec 2007, 01:38 AM
Sharpp: Like you have room to talk!
Patton calls to let Milo in, just in the nick of time. He ducks into the readyroom before Bijaj can punch him and before Shashar can arrest him.
Sharpp: *somewhat panicked* Sorry captain... ummm, this is all going to sound completely insane, but there is something you need to know about.
Kezi: None that we detected, no.
In mid conversation, Vixya is interrupted by the comm.
*comm* This is Riddle to Vixya, we need you in the lab, theres a situation with the reptile specimen- and you're the only one who seems to be able to coax it.
Vixya: *taps com badge* Understood, sir. Sorry, I have to go.
29th Dec 2007, 01:45 AM
Katian: Of course, Vixya. Come by anytime...
Capt. Patton: After everything else... *shakes head* Go ahead and tell me, Milo. I'm listening...
29th Dec 2007, 02:10 AM
He struggles for a moment, trying to figure out how to explain The Crewman without sounding like a complete maniac.
Sharpp: I think I know who is responsible for these killings. The other night, I was in the arboreteum. It was dark, and no one was there. But then, this woman came out of the... the bushes, and she started talking to me. Talking about the strangest minutia of my daily routine, things that only I would know. She started making vague threats about the ship and told me to leave before she killed me... I thought at first that I was imagining it, with the problems I've been having lately and everything...
He pauses, in case the captain wants to interject. She doesn't.
Sharpp: The next night she showed up in my quarters. She disabled the lights, and when I tried to call for security, I couldn't. So she again, went of a cryptic tirade, mostly directed to me. She was taunting me and... I think she has some sort of weird psychological need set on my. From everything she has told my, I think she is a member of section 31. I never have seen her face but she wears a crewman's uniform, science, I think. And... I think she killed Candice because of me.
29th Dec 2007, 02:33 AM
Capt. Patton: Milo... You were present before when Ensign Kezi and I told you to be careful because Section 31 could be involved... And now you're saying that this one agent is appearing only to you, threatening you, and killing other officers because of you? *pauses* I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, Mister Sharpp, but you're going to have to provide physical evidence...
29th Dec 2007, 02:41 AM
Sharpp: Wyatt's corpse isn't enough? I'm sure whoever killed her was methodical enough to erase all evidence linking them to the scene. Double agents aren't exactly known for being outgoing and leaving paper trails.... She told me this would happen. That no one would believe me. I should have known she'd be right. I don't know what she wants or why she is doing this, I just want it to stop! I need help, this is serious, everyone is in danger and I can't be the only one to know about her!
29th Dec 2007, 02:48 AM
Patton stands and walks to the front of her desk.
Capt. Patton: Woah, Milo... I didn't say that I didn't believe you. You're right. From Security reports, no other evidence was found at the scene. It was a clean kill. Very professional. It most likely was Section 31.
29th Dec 2007, 02:53 AM
Milo becomes increasingly aggravated and nervous as he paces around in circles.
Milo: There was so much blood....
"Damn it" he thinks. "If anything will implicate me for murder, thats it." He still cant get the image out of his mind, he knows one thing for sure, he has to avoid telepaths.
29th Dec 2007, 03:04 AM
Capt. Patton: Blood? Milo... Did you see Nurse Wyatt murdered?
29th Dec 2007, 03:10 AM
Sharpp: N-n-n-no, no I- I d-didnt... captain, I really need to go. Ummm...
He's a terrible liar. He is positive that she can see straight through him, or worse, see the gory picture he was unwittingly painting for her. How stupid could he be? No one would ever believe him. And, what if The Crewman was just a delusion? What if he killed Candice?
He killed the weapons runner on Irixia who raped and murdered his only friend. He was sick for days and couldn't seem to wash the blood off his hands, but the man deserved to die. He had killed many before Justine and would continue to do so afterwards. It was a more a matter of public safety that personal revenge, or at least thats what he tells himself. But could Milo have killed Candy? Was he really that far gone?
"Get a hold of yourself!" he thinks, "You haven't killed anyone.
29th Dec 2007, 03:20 AM
Capt. Patton: Hold it right there, Lieutenant.
Patton moves herself between Sharpp and the door.
Capt. Patton: I want to know what happenend and I want to know now. *firm, sternly* Did you see the murder?
29th Dec 2007, 03:28 AM
Sharpp: I... I refuse to incriminate myself captain. You might sort of believe me now, but no one else will. If security hears my story, they'll eat me alive! I knew coming here was a mistake!
29th Dec 2007, 03:34 AM
Capt. Patton: Very well, Lieutenant. You don't leave me much choice... *taps combadge* Patton to Lieutenant Shashar, you're needed in my Ready Room...
29th Dec 2007, 03:39 AM
A moment later, Shashar walks through the door and Sharpp makes a run for it only to be stopped by the security chief and thrown to the floor. He's surprisingly strong for his slender stature.
Sharpp: I haven't done anything wrong!
Shashar: Would it be too much to ask whats going on here?
29th Dec 2007, 04:07 AM
Capt. Patton: If you haven't done anything wrong, Milo, then just tell me what happenend...
No response from Sharpp.
Capt. Patton: *sighs* Lieutenant Shashar, take Lieutenant Sharpp into custody... For involvement in Candice Wyatt's murder...
29th Dec 2007, 04:29 AM
Shashar:*surprised* ...Aye, captain, as you wish. Mr. Sharpp. you are hereby under arrest for suspicion of the homicide of Candice Wyatt.
Milo gets to his feet and stands there stunned, still not saying a word.
Shashar: You can either accompany me to the brig like a civilized human being, or we can get a security team in here and drag you kicking and screaming, it makes no difference to me.
Sharpp: Fine... but I'm innocent!
Milo follows Shashar onto the bridge without any further struggle where two more security officers join them to escort him to the brig. The whole thing seems quite surreal. The crew members stare at him as he walks between the guards, and he almost laughs that they think him so dangerous. Three guards are necessary to control him. They had no evidence to tie him to the murder? Right?
Kezi stands outside of Reg's quarters as agreed. Her shift is over and she is eager to take a look at that blood sample and get it over with. She rings the buzzer and waits for a response.
Milo takes his seat in his cell as Shashar gives out orders to search his quarters and start an immediate investigation. So much for hiding his unusual hobbies. Lt. T'lei stands in front of the forcefield and just stares at him. She always had bad feelings about this human, but she never expected this from him.
T'lei: Did you kill Candice Wyatt?
T'lei: Did you witness her death?
T'lei: We will find out, mister Sharpp. One way or another.
Sharpp: There is no way in hell that I could have made such a clean get away. I'm a biologist, I have no expertise in covert operations. And thats who did this, a spy from section 31.
T'lei: I see... We will speak more later, Lieutenant.
T'lei turns and walks to where Shashar is standing at a console.
T'lei: I think he is suffering delusions.
Shashar: Possibly, or perhaps he is right. Perhaps there is a spy, running around and killing people. In any case, we are searching his quarters now, so I hope that will turn up something. *taps comm badge* Captain, Milo Sharpp is securely in custody. Teams have already started searching his quarters, I am about to head there myself, you are welcome to join us.
29th Dec 2007, 04:48 AM
Capt. Patton: *taps combadge* No thank you... But I would like to speak with Mister Sharpp soon. Patton out...
Patton sighs and rubs the bridge of her nose. Milo had his problems, but to actually be involved in murder? It seemed highly unlikely... She needed to speak with someone that knew Sharpp personaly...
Capt. Patton: *taps combadge* Patton to Riddle, are you busy?
Reg had laid down on his couch two hours ago. He wasn't feeling up to snuff... And his shoulder was killing him. Sickbay was an option... But he didn't want to walk anywhere... His door chime went off. It was probably Kezi...
Lt. Barclay: *weakly* C-come in...
29th Dec 2007, 05:11 AM
Vixya: Shhhh.... I think its behind the desk.
Riddle: *whispers* Be careful, we already have three people in sickbay with burns thanks to this infernal beast!
Vixya crouches and makes a clicking sound, almost as if calling for a cat. The furniture in the back portion of the lab is wrecked and there are scorch marks on the walls. The purple creature hops out into sight and sniffs their hand. before nuzzling it. They pick it up in their arms and scratch behind its ear.
Vixya: I think its just misunderstood.... and very cute.
Riddle: *jokingly* Theres no accounting for taste... We better clean up this mess.
*Patton* Patton to Riddle, are you busy?
Riddle: *hits com badge* Nope, not anymore. I'm on my way. *to Vixya* Make sure our friend here doesn't go fire happy again, it seems to like you.
Kezi walks in and sees Reg who is sitting on his sofa, much resembling a breathing corpse.
Kezi: Oh divine mother! Are you alright? Whats the matter?
Alex walks onto the bridge, which seems overcome with a strange, almost silence. Though there is the faint whispering between the crew as they look around suspiciously. Bijaj is in command of the bridge and stands when she sees Alex walking towards the captains readyroom.
Bijaj: What do you want, lieutenant?
Riddle: I just need to speak to the captain, she called for me.
Bijaj: I'm sure. The last person who went into her office got dragged out by security. Watch yourself, terran.
Riddle: *annoyed* Will do, commander.
Riddle buzzes and waits until the captain calls him in, when she does he takes a seat and folds his hands in his lap, his uniforms and hair slightly singed from the incident with the dragon moments ago.
Riddle: Whats going on?
29th Dec 2007, 05:26 AM
Patton had her chair turned to face the window and the starscape.
Capt. Patton: Oh, nothing... I just threw Mister Sharpp into the Brig. He may or may not have had something to do with our most recent murder. *turning back around* And-- What happend to you?
Lt. Barclay: Yeah... Its j-just my shoulder--Ah!
Pain shoots through his arm as he tries to sit up. Reg grasps the joint, only to recoil his hand. It was slick with blood.
Lt. Barclay: K-kezi...
29th Dec 2007, 05:38 AM
Riddle: Dragon hunting... Milo got arrested for what?
Kezi draws nearer to Reg only to see the blood that covers his hand and is soaking through his uniform. Bright, bright red, a sight she never could get used to, in her mind, blood should be purple.
Kezi: Reg! Ok... stay calm. *hits comm badge* Kezi to sickbay, medical emergency. I'm in Lt. Barclay's quarters.
*sickbay* Understood, we are sending help.
29th Dec 2007, 06:00 AM
Reg closes his eyes and goes pale. Blood... Why did it have to be blood...?
Lt. Barclay: *swallows* I t-think I'm going to be sick...
EMH: *appearing* Please hold any bodily fluids until we can get to Sickbay, Mister Barclay...
The EMH opened his medical kit and pulled out a small rectangle of synthetic cloth and a hypospray.
EMH: *to Kezi* Ensign, hold this over his shoulder. I'll give him a couagulant that will keep him from bleeding out completly...
Lt. Barclay: *panicking* C-completly?!
Capt. Patton: Milo came to me saying that this Section 31 agent was following him around and threatening him. He also said that the agent was responsible for Nurse Wyatt's murder... He then mentioned there was a lot of blood and I asked him if he witnessed the murder... *shrugged* He wouldn't answer.
29th Dec 2007, 06:27 AM
Kezi holds the cloth to his shoulder as told and gives a scowl to the EMH after his last statement. Talk about a terrible bedside manner.
Kezi: Shhhh... you'll be fine, I'm sure of it. Just try to relax, we have some of the best doctors in Starfleet, and they'll take care of you.
Kezi hopes that she isn't lying when she makes this last statement. Two medics walk into the room and move to help the EMH.
Hernandez: This is just like the case we had earlier. Are we going to be able to do direct transport, doc?
Riddle: *smirks* Of course he didn't. He never defends himself... During his first year in the academy, he shot Admiral Thiar, who was the superintendent at the time... They couldn't figure out why he did it, he wouldn't even talk for days afterwards. The most anyone was ever able to insinuate was that he had somehow gotten involved in a very abusive relationship, if you could call it that, with the admiral, who was a Betazoid. When they examined him at the hospital, well what had been done to him, no one is sure. But broken ribs, lacerations, burns it looked like he had been tied down and tortured... But he wouldn't say what happened to him, why he shot Thiar. The admiral recovered and continued teaching. Milo was sent to a psychiatric hospital where he was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, they attributed the shooting to that, and that was that.
He takes a brief break from speaking and leans forward.
Riddle: But I know Milo well, I think. He snapped when he shot the admiral. He was severely traumatized and in a psychotic state, and he was just a kid. This... this crime isn't something he would do.
Security opens the door to Sharpp's quarters and walk in cautiously. They look around and are shocked by what they see. The furniture torn to shreds and arranged almost like strange idols. There is an open case containing a petrified case on a shelf and cut out pictures of eyes pasted to the walls. The floor is covered in scrap metal, fabric, paper, and plastic. Photographs are scattered everywhere, and a strange metal chair frame sits by the window, naked of any padding, stripped to its skeleton. There is no bed, but rather, yet another pile of debris. There are books stacked to the ceiling and a bloody razor blade on the bathroom sink.
Shashar: How can anyone live in this mess?
Diez: I don't know sir... but it does seem like somewhere that a crazy murderer would live.
29th Dec 2007, 06:45 AM
Patton sits in stunned silence after hearing about Sharpp's past.
Capt. Patton My God... That would explain a lot... But you're right, of course, this isn't something Sharpp is capable of. And if he wants out of it, he's going to have to speak for himself...
EMH: I believe so... We caught him eariler than Kimble...
Lt. Barclay: *shaking* W-what happened to K-kimble?
EMH: Oh, he's fine... *adminsteres the hypo* They will just have to do another complete blood replacement.
Reg groans and shuts his eyes.
29th Dec 2007, 07:17 AM
Riddle: Which will happen when Vulcan freezes over, maybe... I feel bad for him, but hes incredibly frustrating to deal with sometimes. Its like he's cursed or something. I remember I once made the mistake of going on a research mission with him, alone in a shuttle craft... the damn thing crashed and we got stuck on the andorian tundra for three days, We both got frostbite and nearly died. It was awful! Yet i feel strangely nostalgic about it.
Then the comm breaks through.
*Shashar* This is Shashar to Captain Patton... We found the murder weapon in Sharpp's quarters, the blood on it matches Candice Wyatt.
Kezi blinks and finds herself rematerliazing with Reg and the hologram in sickbay. The blood is soaking through the antiseptic pad on his shoulder and her hands are covered in it. Lennox runs over to them as they put him on a biobed.
Lennox: Is this the same as Kimble?
EMH: Yes doctor, your powers of observation are truly astounding.
Lennox: Nurse, prepare 5.526 quarts of blood. Human, type A negative for complete blood replacement. *to Kezi* Please step back, Kezi, it might be best if you wait outside.
29th Dec 2007, 07:24 AM
Lt. Barclay: *weakly* K-k-kezi...
The EMH presses another hypo into Barclay's neck and he was unconscious.
Shocked looks go between Riddle and Patton.
Capt. Patton: All right, Lieutenant... Begin processing it as evidence... *to Riddle* Alex... How could that be...?
29th Dec 2007, 07:37 AM
Kezi finally takes the doctors advice as medical staff crowd around Reg. She goes and sits in the waiting area, hoping that everything goes well. She isn't even entirely sure what happened, it seemed like the supposedly healed disruptor wound has opened back up again. Apparently her assistance with dominion weapons wasn't so useful afterall, she had never seen anything like this before.
Alex shakes his head in disbelief.
Riddle: Either Milo did kill her, or whoever did is trying to frame him. But, he doesn't have that kind of technological knowledge, to have erased all records of his being there. Its just not possible, this was obviously done by a professional.
29th Dec 2007, 07:42 AM
Capt. Patton: Milo's mystery Crewman... *stands* C'mon. We have to convince Sharpp to tell us what really happened.
Patton strided out onto the Bridge with Riddle following close behind.
29th Dec 2007, 07:59 AM
Alex stares up at the geometrical design of the ceiling, something he always found to be quite soothing. Finally the insessant whirring stops and they get out and walk the rest of the way to the brig.
When they arrive, Lt. Cmdr. Shashar is interrogating Milo, who seems quite terrified.
Sharpp: I didn't kill anyone! I don't even know what knife your talking about, so how it got in my quarters is beyond me. Maybe you should check the holo-records for my room!
Shashar: We did, and they were wiped just like Nurse Wyatt's.
Sharpp: Well doesn't that alone tell you anything?
29th Dec 2007, 08:07 AM
Capt. Patton: Lieutenant Shashar, we'll take it from here...
Lt. Cmdr. Shashar: Aye, Sir...
Shashar briskly walks back to his station and Patton moves to take his place.
Capt. Patton: Mister Sharpp. Will you please tell us what happened now?
29th Dec 2007, 08:21 AM
Sharpp: Does it matter? Because apparently I cut Candice Wyatt's throat. With what, I don't know, I also don't know how I got into her quarters, and I can't begin to imagine how I erased all of the sensor logs for that area of the ship. I can barely figure out a tricorder half the time.
Riddle: Sharpp, seriously, do you really want to be convicted of a crime we all know that you didn't commit?
Sharpp: An interesting proposition... Should I have my reputation ruined for being a murderer and get sent away to a rehabilitation colony. Or, should I stay here with everyone knowing far too much about my life. How many security officers were in my room? Five? Ten? I don't think I will be able to face any of you again if I'm honest.
Riddle: I have always considered you a friend, Milo. I wouldn't be talking to you right now if I didn't think this was in your best interest.
Sharpp: You know what? I'm sick of this game. Absolutely tired of it. If it means that much to you, sir... I was watching her, remotely, when she was murdered. I saw The Crewman do it. I had been watching for several days time. I'm sure security confiscated the photo collection and my remote viewing device so you can find out all about my hobbies. And now everyone will think I'm a voyeur, a pervert, well I'm not, it was nothing like that at all!
29th Dec 2007, 08:37 AM
Patton frowned at Sharpp's explanation. He had a remote viewing device and was using it to spy on women?
Capt. Patton: You have to admit, it sounds suspicious to say you were watching her, no matter the intent... What was the purpose of watching Wyatt, Mister Sharpp?
29th Dec 2007, 08:45 AM
Sharpp: *tense* My explanation won't sound much better... At first I started watching people because... because I wanted to pretend to be like them, families mostly. I wanted to see how they functioned. But then I was in ten forward taking pictures and she came on to me, acting like a complete whore as usual. I hated her, she was disgusting. She had no morals, no self respect, only a bottomless need for self indulgence and self preservation. She would use people, she was a sociopath, believe me I know one when I see one. Her behavior was positively lurid, but I couldn't look away. She would manipulate anyone and everyone she could. Through sex, blackmail, bribery, you name it.
Riddle: Again, that all sounds pretty suspicious... but security never found a remote viewing device.
Sharpp: The crewman...
29th Dec 2007, 08:53 AM
Capt. Patton: So far you're the only one to have seen this Crewman, Lieutenant... Could they still be on board?
29th Dec 2007, 09:06 AM
Sharpp: I can't imagine where she would have gone. But then, she keeps amazing me. So captain, until we find her, what are you going to do to me? You could make it easy for all of us and line me up in front of a firing squad.
Time passes and Kezi paces the floor. Finally, lennox walks into the waiting area, his white coat covered with blood, and his ever placid doctors expression.
Lennox: It was touch and go for a while... but right now we think Reginald will be fine.
Kezi: *smiles weakly* Thank you, doctor, when can I see him?
Lennox: Right now, if you would like, I don't know how responsive he is.
She follows the doctor into the surgical bay to where Reg is laying, recovering. She takes his hand and smiles down at him.
Kezi: Can you hear me?
29th Dec 2007, 09:20 AM
Reg stirs slightly and returns the squeeze. His eyes opened slightly, but squinted in the strong light. A pale figure with raven hair and bright purple eyes, surrounded in the light, was smiling down at him...
Lt. Barclay: K-kezi...? *weakly smiling* M-my angel...
Capt. Patton: Easier for who? *pauses* I'm willing to put you back under house arrest...
Lt. Cmdr. Shashar: But, Sir--
Capt. Patton: *sternly* Lieutenant. *to Sharpp* House arrest, with a guard outside your door and new quarters.
29th Dec 2007, 09:27 AM
Sharpp: New quarters? May I ask why, captain?
Kezi: Just try to relax... *whispers* Reg, what did you do with the blood?
29th Dec 2007, 09:36 AM
Reg sighs and looks straight up at the celing.
Lt. Barclay: *slowly* B-blood? Oh... It's in m-my pocket s-still... I didn't t-think it'd be safe just leaving it somewhere...
Capt. Patton: Because your old quarters are still under investigation. It's only temporary...
29th Dec 2007, 09:48 AM
Sharpp: Ah, of course. My whole life is in there, and its going to get splayed inside out for all to see... *sighs*
Riddle: Guard, release the forcefield.
The guard lowers the forcefield and Sharpp steps out of the cell cautiously. A guard steps to either side of him and they all stand, waiting for the captain's next order.
Kezi: Maybe I should take it with me... Do you think its safe to have it here?
29th Dec 2007, 09:56 AM
Lt. Barclay: Mmm, no... But if someone d-did try to take it, I don't w-want you to have it... You're t-too important...
Capt. Patton: Take him to some available crew quarters and post a guard outside.
Lt. Cmdr. Shashar: Aye, Captian...
Shashar and the guards lead Sharpp away and Patton turned back to Riddle.
Capt. Patton: Alex... He couldn't have really killed Wyatt, could he?
29th Dec 2007, 10:22 AM
Alex takes a moment to think about this question and weigh the possibilities.
Riddle: I don't think he did it... But, if he did, the only way it would only be plausible if he had someone helping him. Hes a very disturbed man, but call it intuition, he couldn't have done it.
Kezi: You out rank me, you're automatically more important.
Kezi looks around the room to make sure no one is watching before she starts to frisk Barclay. A nurse at the corner of the room catches the scene out of the corner of his eye and wonders just what the Vorta was doing to the patient.
Kezi: What pocket's it in? ... aha! Eureka!
Kezi covers the vile with her hand and shoves it in her own pocket before grinning at Reg.
Kezi: I'll be fine, I promise. Never underestimate a Vorta.
The door slides shut behind Milo and everything in the room is so shiny and new. He hates it, its so artificial, so stagnet. Still, he resists the urge to destroy the furniture.
He orders a glass of water and sits down on the edge of the bed, waiting, thinking, trying to figure out what to do. Trying desperately to make this whole act of public humiliation disappear. He never meant any harm, why was this happening?
He paces the floor around the room, the quarters are identical in design to his own. The beautiful, modern architecture, the exposed, metal ceiling braces which he could certainly take advantage of. He pulls the wire runner from the shower curtain away from the fabric and pulls a chair under the highest support brace. He secures one end of the wire to the brace and ties a noose with the other end, slipping it over his head and tightening it around his throat. Hanging wasn't a pleasant death, but it was better than having to face the world again. Milo thinks about it as he hesitates to kick away the chair from under him. His life has been one long failure, one humiliating, painful mistake after another. He was just looking forward to finally getting peaceful sleep, sans nightmares and waking up screaming, or waking at all.
He kicks the chair from under him and feels the intense tightening of the wire against his force, being pulled downward by the force of gravity.
29th Dec 2007, 10:39 AM
Lt. Barclay: Heh... After the p-past few days, I will never make t-that mistake... *pauses* But please b-be careful... And t-take care of Neelix?
Capt. Patton: I would hope not... Despite his fall backs, he's a good officer.
29th Dec 2007, 11:11 AM
Kezi: Of course, my love.
Kezi kneels down and kisses him on the cheek before walking out of sickbay.
Riddle: I agree, and a brilliant scientist... *sighs* Its been one hell of a trip so far.
Kezi punches in the code and walks into Reg's pitch black quarters. "Strange" she thinks, "The lights were on when we left."
Kezi: Computer, lights.
Kezi is shocked when the lights come on. Clothes and personal effects are strewn into the floor, drawers emptied, furniture overturned with cushions and mattresses sliced open with their stuffing pulled out. The place is a horrendous mess and it looks as if its been burglarized.
"The blood sample."
*Sharpp's Temporary Quarters*
Mio can feel himself slipping somewhere, somewhere... he opens his eyes and its dark. Is this the afterlife? He starts coughing uncontrolably as he sits up and feels a hand patting him on the back. Then he starts thinking,
"If I had known there was an afterlife, I wouldn't have killed myself."
Then there is a familiar, haunting voice, and a dark silhouette in front of him. The crewman.
Sharpp: *hoarse* What are you doing here?
The Crewman: Saving your life.
Sharpp: What? You just had me framed for murder...
The Crewman: I was testing you, I expected you to be stronger than that, Milo. You didn't really think I would let you go that easily, did you?
Sharpp: You cut me down, I take it.
The Crewman: Quite correct, but it will just look like the wire snapped.
The Crewman: I care about you milo, I just want to help you.
Sharpp: You want to help me by having me implicated in murders? By exposing every detail of my life to the scrutiny of ships security? You should have let me go through with it.
The Crewman: I really can't say more than I already have, but rest assured, your remote observation device will land in the hands of the proper authorities, photographic evidence and all. But they won't be able to identify me, so everyone wins.
Sharpp: Why did you kill Candice?
The Crewman: Don't you know? The answer is right in front of you. Anyway, I must be going, Counselor Holly is on her way here as we speak.
Sharpp: *angry* You bitch! Did you call for-
Before he can finish his statement, he is rendered unconscious by a Vulcan nerve pinch and the crewman disappears the the shadowy depths from which she emerged.
Counselor Holly meets Crewman T'vur, whom is standing guard outside of Sharpp's room.
T'vur: Can I help you, counselor?
Holly: Yes, I got an anonymous tip to check on Lt. Sharpp, he's one of my patients.
T'vur: Aye sir.
First they try sounding the buzzer. but get no response. So they decide to overwrite the security code to the door. When they enter the room, the lights are back on and Sharpp is unconscious in the floor, with the cable still around his neck, leaving a deep ligature mark.
Holly: He's still breathing, we better get him to sickbay.
30th Dec 2007, 02:55 AM
Capt. Patton: *sarcastic* Hasn't it? *pauses* I've gotta get back to the Bridge before Bijaj decides to rip some cadet's head off...
Sara looks around to see if anyone was watching, then kissed Alex on the cheek.
Capt. Patton: I'll see you later... *leaves*
30th Dec 2007, 03:33 AM
Riddle goes back to the lab. The place is quiet and everyone is busy with their respective tasks. News of Sharpp's arrest, the tragic death of Nurse Candy, the captain supposedly being pregnant by the chief science officer, Romulan spies and federation spies along, hiding like gremlins in every corner of the ship. Sometimes having Vulcan physiology doesn't pay off, particularly the hyper sensitive hearing.
Vixya sits at a console, perched above a microscope.
Vixya: Hello, sir.
Riddle: Hello... wheres the dragon?
Vixya: Asleep in the chair in your office. How's Sharpp?
Riddle: Under House arrest.
Vixya: Oh! Someone delivered a package to your office, I didn't see who, though.
Riddle: Alright, thanks.
Alex stops in front of his desk to see a wooden box with a metal latch. He opensthe pewter clasp and the lid springs open. Inside sits a strange looking headset on a pile of photographs. Upon closer inspection, he sees a series of grisley images. It is Candy Wyatt being murdered by what appears to be a human woman. Still, the details of the killers face are skewed, but her crewman insignia gleams clearly from her collar..
Riddle quickly replaces the items in the box and folds the thing under his arm as he heads for security.
Sharpp is brought to sickbay, still unconscious, and Verrik is the first to examine him.
Lennox: Report, Verrik.
Verrik: Hanging, looks like a suicide attempt. Deep ligature marks and burst capillaries in his eyes. It seems the cable snapped.
Lennox: Unlikely, those cables are designed to hold more than three times his weight.
Sharpp is given an injection while T'vur and Holly watch on from a distance. He wakes up and springs to a sitting position.
Sharpp: Damn it! I was hoping that was all just a pre-death hallucination...
Holly: Milo, try to calm down-
Sharpp: That bitch! She saved me!
Holly: Who did?
Sharpp: ...The crewman.
Kezi waits expectantly for security to come, holding Neelix over her shoulder, hoping his white fur wont all stick to her uniform.
Finally, two officers arrive, Lt. T'lei and Ensign Amador. The walk in and look around, the place is completly wrecked.
T'lei: What happened?
Kezi: How should I know, I was coming back to feed Neelix for Reg while hes in sickbay, and found this!
T'lei: Do you have any idea who could have done this?
Kezi: *lying* No... I have no idea.
Amador is at the wall console, trying to access the security logs.
Amador: Security logs have been wiped, just like in Wyatt and Sharpp's quarters.
T'lei: *raises an eyebrow* Fascinating. Well, there is no one here, no risidual bio-energy, nothing, once again. *taps comm badge* T'lei to shashar, there has been a breaking and entry in Lt. Barclay's Quarters, Ensign Amador will be sending you the details.
Riddle walks into security with the box, looking for Lt. Cmdr. Shashar.
Shashar: Can I help you?
Riddle: No, but I believe that I can help you. This box was left on my desk. It contains a remote viewing device which I am certain we can trace back to Mr. Sharpp, and several photographs of Nurse Wyatt being killed.
30th Dec 2007, 04:00 AM
Bijaj stands abruptly as Patton exits the 'lift. She slings a Klingon style salute off before anything else could be done.
Cmdr. Bijaj: Captain, Sir! A report from Security for you. They have found more evidence in the murder of Wyatt. Shashar wishes to speak with you, Sir.
Capt. Patton: *sighing* Thank you, Commander. You still have the Bridge...
Cmdr. Bijaj: Aye, Captain!
30th Dec 2007, 04:21 AM
Shashar sits at his desk, looking over the pictures on his computer screen. The original versions are being analyzed by the science department and the headset is being analyzed by engineering. He heard that the lieutenant in question had just attempted suicide but "the crewman" allegedly saved him.
He waits patiently for the captains response regarding the information.
Lt. JG Flux and Clark look over the photographs.
Flux: These seem to be original copies.
Clark: Yeah, the format is identical to the other photos taken from Sharpp's quarters.
Flux: I don't think these were edited... I think this is the first look we have gotten from the illustrious "Crewman" though.
Clark: Maybe he isn't so insane after all...
Flux: Year right, he took hundreds of pictures of people eating dinner and playing games. Its just weird, even if he didn't kill candy.
30th Dec 2007, 04:31 AM
Capt. Patton: *walking in* Lieutenant, what new evidence do you have?
Counselor D'ar was finally recovered enough to get back to her office and work. She was hoping that there wasn't too much to catch up on...
Sadly there was... What kind of trip was this? If it wasn't for her replacement organizing and handling sessions, she'd probably spend the next year just scheulding appointments...
30th Dec 2007, 04:42 AM
Shashar leans back in his chair and runs his finger through his hair.
Shashar: Someone put Sharpp's remote imaging device and prints of the photos taken of Wyatt being killed, in a box on Lt. Cmdr. Riddle's desk. They're being analyzed right now. But the Killer appears to be a female, average height, dark hair, wearing a science uniform... Her rank is crewman, that was very clear.
Shashar swivels the monitor around to show the captain the images.
Shashar: Why did I decide to take this post?
Counselor Mar'qet pokes his head into the counselors office and sees D'ar sitting at the desk.
Mar'qer: Its good to see you're feeling better, sir. Unfortunately, you have a lot of work to do now... Holly is in the medical bay talking to Lt. Sharpp as we speak, he tried to hang himself. The CMO wants to know what you think we should do with him.
30th Dec 2007, 04:51 AM
Counselor D'ar: Well... I'd have to look over his file, but starting with a suicide watch would be best. Do you know why he tried to hang himself, Mar'qer?
Capt. Patton: Because we were in need of a Chief of Security and you're qualified. *looking at the pictures* God... It's a regular horror show... But it does prove there is a mystery Crewman running around. And all but absolves Sharpp of the murder... Run a personel search. Any Crewmen matching this description are to be brought in. And... Drop the charges on Lieutenant Sharpp...
30th Dec 2007, 05:02 AM
Mar'qet: He was just released from custody under suspicion for Nurse Wyatt's murder. He was put under house arrest in new quarters, because security has his sealed. He has a history of depression, post traumatic stress disorder, and schizophrenia. But, he's not my patient, so I don't know any more than that.
Shashar: Yes sir... Do you want me to drop all charges? We confiscated hundreds of photos from his room, which I am positive were illegally taken. He's in sickbay as we speak, being treated for a very serious suicide attempt, that just screams guilt of something, do you think?
30th Dec 2007, 05:12 AM
Capt. Patton: Suicide attempt? *rubs forehead* Sharpp is a troubled man... But voyurism isn't one of his problems. Just drop the homicide charges, I'll let you know if any others need to be made...
Counselor D'ar: *picking up a PADD* According to this, Holly is his main therapist. Advise Doctor Lennox that I reccomend the suicide watch and Holly that I would like progress reports. If Mister Sharpp gets any worse, I'll take over his case...
30th Dec 2007, 05:19 AM
Shashar: *disappointed* Aye, sir. I will, right away.
Shashar can't believe this request of the captain. He knows that Sharpp didn't kill Wyatt, or at least not according to the evidence, but drop all charges? Was she insane? Still, she is the captain.
Mar'qet: Of course, sir... D'la? Are you alright? I mean you've been on medical leave for a while now.
After security leaves, Kezi makes her way back to sickbay. The trip is quiet and the corridors are unusually empty. Still, she is hyper vigilant of her surroundings, the vile of blood burning a hole in her pocket. She wants to get to sickbay to tell Reg what happened in person.
But as she is walking someone strikes her across the back of the head and pulls her into an unlit room.
30th Dec 2007, 05:27 AM
D'ar shifts in her seat and set the PADD back down. Was she doing something off?
Counselor D'ar: I believe so... Why? Is something wrong?
30th Dec 2007, 05:58 AM
Mar'qet: No, nothing. Just asking.
After a series of medical scans and a shot with a sedative for showing extreme irritation and mistrust of said medical scans, Holly, Lennox, and T'vur lead Sharpp through a set of doors, into an empty room, and down through another set of doors which lead directly int a corridor. There are three doors on each side and one at the very back leading to small rooms. Each room has a large window, that can be turned opaque with the touch of a button. The rooms are complete wit a bet, shower, toilet, sink, computer console, and replicator. However the replicator and console has limited access and capabilities.
Milo finds all of this quite fascinating, he never realized this area of the ship existed. Though the stark newness of everything was not in the least bit welcoming. It was all white with a sickly, pale blue, sort of clinical glow. The same lighting and overall ambiance of the morgue. Lennox unlocks the middle door on the left and walks inside, waiting for the others to follow suit.
Holly: Milo, you'll be staying here until you are no longer a threat to yourself
Sharpp: *looks around* What is this place? A psych ward? These starships really are equip with everything.
Lennox: More or less, though we haven't used this facility yet.
Sharpp: *sarcastic* I feel so honored.
Lennox: You will be monitored at all times and allowed to leave during the day, but only while being monitored and only to approved areas of the ship. You are on medical leave until further notice.
Sharpp: What good that will do, The Crewman will cut right through ships systems anyway.
Lennox: Well, we'll try to avoid that.
Lennox and the guard leave, leaving Holly and Sharpp along.
Sharpp: No windows, all white, fluorescent lighting... this place is enough to drive someone insane.
Holly: Do you want to have a seat?
Holly: Well then, can I ask you a few questions?
Sharpp: Aren't you already?
Holly: Milo, why did you try to hang yourself?
Sharpp: I didn't want to do this anymore. I didn't want to go to work everyday and be called a freak or patok or anything else by my colleagues, and I didn't want to come home every day to an empty home. I have no real friends, no family, nothing. Death and destruction follows me everywhere I go. I am sick of people like this crewman trying to intimidate and blackmail me. I feel trapped, and death seemed like the best alternative. Unfortunately, it seems that I can't even die without screwing it up.
30th Dec 2007, 06:19 AM
Lirra: Is everything all right, Miss Ryoux?
Katian: *rubbing the back of her neck* Yeah... I just haven't gotten much rest...
Lirra: You should go rest, then. I can still take care of things here...
Katian: Thanks, Lirra, but I've been missing to much work as it is. Another cup of Vulcan Mocha will keep me going 'till the end of the shift...
Lirra: At least sit at a table for awhile... I will get you the mocha...
EMH: Now, Mister Barclay, you should be comfortable here...
They had moved Reg into one of the private recovery room. He, and the others who have gone through the blood replacement thearpy were being kept for the next few days to make sure there were no more complications.
Lt. Barclay: *sitting on the edge of the bed* T-thanks... Can I see Kezi?
EMH: No, you need to rest. That's why your here...
Lt. Barclay: But... It's k-kind of important...
EMH: *scowling* I doubt your relationship will fall apart overnight, Lieutenant.
Lt. Barclay: Oh, n-no... It's... Uh, w-work related.
EMH: *sighing* Fine. YOu probably won't drop it until you see her, anyway. I'll see if I can find her... *leaves*
30th Dec 2007, 06:33 AM
*Storage Locker 14-B*
Kezi wakes up in a dimly lit room. As she sits up she notices storage containers everywhere and a splitting headache. She instinctively reaches for the back of her head, from where the pain is radiating, and feels that her hair is drenched with blood. She can't remember how she got there. Only that she was on her way to sickbay... To see Reg? It was about something important, but what? She feels her pockets are empty. The vile of blood!
She struggles to her feet and continues walking towards sickbay, leaning against the wall for support.
Crew member's keep giving her a strange looks as she walks, her hands covered in purple, metallic blood. She finally gets to sickbat and stumbles through the door.
Dr. Glover: My god ensign, what happened?
Kezi: I... I don't remember... I need to talk to Lt. Barclay, its important.
Dr. Glover: No, you need to have that head wound treated before you do anything.
30th Dec 2007, 06:48 AM
The EMH comes across the Kezi and Doctor Glover and takes the Vorta by the arm.
EMH: Actually, the Lieutenant was looking for you as well, but first things first... *whispers to Glover* Doctor, get a sedative...
30th Dec 2007, 06:52 AM
Kezi: *slurred* A sedative? Damn it! This is important! Life or death- I'll have you turned into a tricorder, hologram! I need to talk to the-
Glover: Kezi! Try to calm down or we will have to sedate you.
30th Dec 2007, 07:04 AM
Reg overehears Kezi yelling and goes to the door of his room as fast as his battered body would allow.
Lt. Barclay: *seeing the purple blood* K-kezi?! What happened?!
EMH: *still holding on to Kezi* Mister Barclay, get back in that bed!
Lt. Barclay: N-no! *goes to Kezi* Are y-you all right?
EMH: Does she look all right?
Dr. Glover: Computer, deactivate EMH...
As the hologram is taken from existance, Reg takes Kezi's arm and helps her to a bio bed.
Lt. Barclay: *softly* K-kezi...
30th Dec 2007, 07:08 AM
Kezi is feeling increasingly delirious. The room spins around her.
Kezi: I... I don't remember what happened. Th-the blood, they took it.
30th Dec 2007, 07:14 AM
Lt. Barclay: It's okay... J-just lie down...
Dr. Glover: I need some help over here! *scans Kezi with a tricorder*
30th Dec 2007, 07:24 AM
Lennox runs over to where Kezi is lying and starts scanning her as well.
Lennox: We need to get her to surgery. Blunt force trauma to the back of her skull, I'm registering a series of fractures and severe bleeding in her neocortex, as well as hypoperfusion. Its a wonder that she's alive, none the less walking and talking.
Glover: Aye sir, I understand, we need to prep her for emergency surgery.
A team of doctors swarm around Kezi, leaving Reg standing by the sidelines.
Verrik: Mr. Barclay, you need to get back to bed, we're doing everything we can.
30th Dec 2007, 07:34 AM
Reg nods vaguly and follows the nurse back to the private room...
Commandre M'Ress takes the same graceful strides as always into the lounge. She takes a stool with out hesitation and summons the Anear barkeep.
Cmdr. M'Ress: Terrran milk and rrum. Warrm.
30th Dec 2007, 06:07 PM
Zan nodded and waved Vixya off as they were called back on duty. It would be his turn soon and by the looks of the report from his superior officer, he would be quite busy. He noticed the catian officer enter and was suddenly reminded that he had promised breakfast to Tiger. Both had been run off of their feet recently and their breaks just didn't seem to coincide. As he was about to order a coffee to go with his half-eaten omelette, he noticed Katian looking a little off and waved her other.
Ensign Zan: Why don't you sit here for a while? I don't bite you know! Seriously, you don't look so good. In fact, you look how I feel.
30th Dec 2007, 06:29 PM
Lt. jg. Caeli enters strategic ops for some reason the place is deserted, strange. A shadowy figure is hanging over a console. The Bolian officer feels uneasy as he approaches the dark tall figure.
Lt. jg. Caeli: computer lights *no response* What the hell.
At that moment Lt. Li let's out a low moan, moments before he was attacked and he is hanging on to dear life. He manages to stroll towards Korvin.
Lt. Li: help me
Lt. jg. Caeli: Oh my, *taps combadge* Sickbay, security we have situation in strategic ops. *only static*
Lt. jg. Caeli knows he as to act quick so he walks towards the wounded Li and half caries him out of strategic ops. Somebody appartanly had cut this section of the ship from communications. In the light of the corridors Caeli becomes aware of the true horror. Lt. Li has been stabbed several times and is bleeding badly, his breathing is becoming shallow if they don't find a doctor or nurse soon, the Bajoran officer will die. Desperately Caeli taps his combadge again
Lt. jg. Security: sickbay please respond we have an emergency situation in Strategic ops.
30th Dec 2007, 07:13 PM
On finishing his coffee and omelette, Raian decided to leave Katian alone for a while as he was due back on duty anyway. He decided to make his way to strategic ops but upon entering noticed the state of Lt Li. He looked up at Korvin and tapped his own com-badge in an attempt to call for help but to no avail. Noting how strange it was, he quickly ran to Li and Caeli's side acting as calm as possible.
Ensign Zan: Damnit, why the hell isn't the com working? Computer, activate EMH (again, nothing)! Damn, whoever did this didn't want us to find help. Korvin, see if you can find a med kit while I try a few old fashioned first aid tricks. I'm no doctor, nor have I ever been, but just bare with me. If theres no kit then you'll have to go and find help. We can't just sit here and wait for help we can't reach right?
He smiled a little and with that, he removed his shirt and began tearing it apart at the seams. This was no time to worry about a reprimand for lack of uniform and he needed something to stem the heavy bleeding. He noted the stab wounds and guessed that this would probably be his next assignment.
30th Dec 2007, 07:20 PM
Lt. jg. Caeli nods and stands up to find the med kit in strategic ops. He recites an old Bolian nursery rhyme while making his way through the pitch black, in the corner of his eyes he thinks he sees movement but it could be his mind playing tricks on him, at long last he finds the med kit and hurries back to Raian and Lt. Li
Lt. jg Caeli: I found the med kit *takes his phaser* It could be my imagination but I think somebody is lurking in strategic ops. What do we now? I never took medical training?
30th Dec 2007, 11:11 PM
Raian raises an eyebrow as Caeli returns with the kit and comments on a possible intruder. That wasn't what they needed right now but he was too busy with Lt Li to do a lot about it. He hadn't taken medical training either and was relying on the memories that Zan had been so kind as to share. By now, his shirt had been torn to ribbons and was covering the various stab wounds as tied them into makeshift bandages. His combadge had been discarded and lay beside the striken lietenant. He could hear something, like perhaps footsteps getting closer and as he tied the last 'bandage' he turned to his Bolian colleague, taking out his own phaser.
Ensign Zan: Ok, go and find some help and I'll clean up back here. I think Lt Li will be fine, at least for a little while. I don't think we should move him but something is definately here. I'll be fine, go!
30th Dec 2007, 11:23 PM
Lt. jg. Caeli: Raian I'm not sure it's wise to leave you alone here.
Lt. Gav arrives at the scene and is unpleasantly surprised by what he sees. An ensign and a junior lieutenant hanging over a limp and mutilated body of a Bajoran officer.
Lt. Gav: What's going on?
Lt. jg. Caeli: I found him this way sir, somebody has disabled the lights and all means of communications in this section. I was just going to get help
Lt. Gav: Go lieutenant.
Lt. jg. Caeli stands up and sprints away, his mind is completely blank focused only to find help. At last he runs into a medic.
Lt. jg. Caeli: Crewman Winter please alert sickbay and security we have a situation in Strategic Ops.
Moments later Lt. jg. Caeli arrives back at the scene with a security and medical team.
Lt. jg. Caeli: how is Lt Li doing Raian?
30th Dec 2007, 11:37 PM
Raian is about to argue further when another officer arrives on the scene. Just as well really as, as much as he hated to admit it, Caeli was right in what he said. The now topless Trill looked up at Gav before standing up, phaser still drawn. As Caeli returned, he was pleased to see that he had brought help. He looked down at the striken officer as the medical team got to work and shrugged slightly.
Ensign Zan: Alive as far as I know but the medical team'll tell you more. I'll take a team and search the area. Thanks Korvin.
30th Dec 2007, 11:49 PM
Doctor Rii quickly stabilizes Lt. Li, well as far is possible in a corridor anyway. The medics load the fallen officer on a stretcher and begin the journey to sickbay.
Doctor Rii: Thank you ensign your quick thinking probably saved his life.
Lt. jg. Caeli notices for the first time his uniform is bloodied but this not the time to worry about this. He wonders what is going on, this wasn't a random act of violence this was thought out. He can't help but wonder why some people on this ship were so hell bent on destroying the values that the Federation stands for: tolerance and peace.
Lt. jg. Caeli: I'll try to reestablish the lights with crewman Gore form here, be careful Raian we are dealing with danger people.
31st Dec 2007, 12:01 AM
The Trill let out a nervous laugh.
Ensign Zan: No kidding, but we've got a job to do back here. Whoever did this is probably still here, or at least thats the impression I'm under. The sooner we get some lights the better cos we're really gonna need to see what we're doing. (to the security team) Ok, stay together and keep a weather eye.
With that he re-entered Strategic Ops with the team and aimed his phaser toward the darkness. He could still here the noises and was growing increasingly nervous but thought it best not to dwell on it for now. He remembered one of Yulia's favourite sayings - act now, panic later - and tried his best to follow the advice of his one time superior officer.
31st Dec 2007, 12:12 AM
Lt. jg. Caeli and crewman Gore are working hard to reestablish communications and lights in strategic ops. Lt. Gav is standing at the entrance with his phase aimed in the dark and determined look on his pig like face. His small eyes narrow at something. Caeli lets out a nervous cackle the air is thick with anticipation and fear.
Crewman Gore: However did this knows there stuff. I never saw something like this before
Lt. jg. Caeli: Can you fix it?
Crewman Gore: I'm not sure Sir.
All of a sudden the lights spring back on in strategic ops the security team is temporally blinded by the brightness. Strategic ops looks deserted but bears the signs of a fierce struggle.
Lt. jg. Caeli: Good work crewman
Crewman Gore: It wasn't me sir.
Lt. jg. Caeli: How do you mean?
Crewman Gore: I didn't do anything the problem corrected itself sir.
Lt. jg. Caeli: Is that even possible?
Crewman Gore: Yes, but unlikely.
31st Dec 2007, 12:19 AM
Raian covered his eyes as the lights sprang to life with no warning. He wasn't the only one who had been caught out either but by the time everyone had recovered, there was no sign of anyone who shouldn't have been there although there were definately signs of a struggle. As the rest of teh team searched the room, Raian went to tap his com-badge before realising that he no longer had a shirt never mind a badge upon it. It was then he noticed the others looking at his spotted torso and one of the female officers even smiled. He smiled back before leaving the room to retrieve his badge. It would probably be a good idea to let Lt Cmr Shashar know what had happened.
31st Dec 2007, 12:28 AM
Lt. Gav wonders if he should warn the captain, this really are spinning out of control. He turns to the Trill ensign.
Lt. Gav: You are in charge of security here? Did you find anything?
A security crewman walks towards Ensign Zan with a strange expression on his face.
Crewman: Sir all the logs are whipped clean, and there is no DNA evidence it's almost as if a ghost did this.
31st Dec 2007, 12:45 AM
31st Dec 2007, 12:47 AM
The ensign folded his arms as bothe Lt. Gav and the crewman addressed him. This was indeed very strange and ver similar to the account of Nurse Wyatt's death sent to him by Lt. Cmr. Shashar. Speaking of the latter, he still needed to contact him, or perhaps even the captain, and make them aware of the situation. He wondered if the attacks were connected, but there would be plenty of time to figure that out as he nodded to the crewman and turned to Gav.
Ensign Zan: Like he said Lietenant, it seems theres just nothing here. We need to contact forensics to see if they can find anything that maybe we missed. For now though, I'm gonna replicate a new shirt and contact Shashar.
He the picked up his combadge and pip, before leaving the scene temporarily to find a replicater. Once he had made himself a new shirt, he pulled it over his head and replaced the pip on his collar and his badge, which he quickly used to contact the chief of security.
Ensign Zan: Zan to Lt. Cmr. Shashar. We've had a bit of a situation in strategic ops.
31st Dec 2007, 04:25 AM
Shashar sips his coffee as the rather frantic call from San comes in.
Shashar: Understood ensign, we're on our way.
Kezi lays in a coma in sickbay, though she is expected to recover. The surgical team tries to recoperate from the stressful day, and are only catching their breath as the medics bring in the bloodied Bolian officer. They rush to him with self induced zeal and move him to a biobed.
Glover: What the hell happened to him?
Winter: We have no idea, he was just found like this in Strategic Ops.
Lennox: Multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and blunt force trauma. Scans are showing sever internal bleeding and hemmoraging... *sighs* Prep for surgery everyone.
The doctors and nurses prepare themselves and their patient for surgery. As they begin the procedure, they can't help but wonder if someone sneaked them all into a war zone over night. There was just no reason that this should all be happening on a federation ship in federation space to federation officers.
Riddle and Shashar arrive at strategic OPs around the same time and Shashar gives the science officer a strange look.
Shashar: Why are you here?
Shashar: I thought Kezi was the chief forensics officer.
Riddle: She's in a coma in sickbay, someone beat her with a metal pipe.
Shashar: Doesn't Sharpp have some- oh, he's on suicide watch... What about Lennox? I thought he has some expertise in the area?
Riddle: He's in emergency surgery, an officer just got stabbed.
Shashar: Oh for the love of god! This whole mission is falling apart! We're doomed! ...sorry. Well, in that case, lets get started, shall we?
Sharpp sits on the floor of his room in a plain science department coveralls and socks. He replicated several black crayons and has been writing in the walls. The whiteness was maddening, he couldn't take it. Still, he is surprised that someone hasn't come and confiscated the crayons yet. He tried to replicate a graphite pencil, but was unable to, apparently those particular writing utensils are too dangerous.
He doesn't feel particularly suicidal anymore, its grown to more of a seething rage. He does not want to rest until The Crewman is brought to justice. Who is she to tell him when he can and can't die? Why was she so obsessed with him? As if he wasn't paranoid and insecure enough already, she had to make sure that he will never feel safe anywhere around anyone, ever again.
Ensign K'thra and Cadet Rian sit near each other at the bar. The vulcan cadet slams down another glass of blood wine and demands another and the Klingon laughs at her.
K'thra: HAHAHA! Why do you drink that, vulcan? It is a warriors drink, wouldn't you be more suited to herbal tea!
Rian: *angry* Patok! Do not insult me!
K'thra: You should be careful who you call a Patok, little girl! You might get hurt!
Rian: *cackles* What, no death threat? And you call yourself a warrior! Hahaha!
K'thra and Rian get up from their seats and the klingon snarls as they stand chest to chest. Finally she hits Rian in the shoulder affectionately.
K'thra: I like you, vulcan! Come, share a drink with me in my quarters!
Rian and K'thra leave Ten Forward together, laughing heartily and Lirra shakes her head from behind the bar.
Lirra: I just never can understand some people. I thought for sure she was about to kill her.
31st Dec 2007, 04:46 AM
Katian: *shrugs* Klingons respond to bravery in the face of a threat...
Passing Rian and K'thra, Captain Patton came in and took a seat at the bar. She ress her elbows on the counter and hangs her head.
Katian: Can we get you something, Captain?
Capt. Patton: Just some tea... Vulcan spice, warm.
Katian: Yes, ma'am...
31st Dec 2007, 05:15 AM
Lirra smiles warmly as she passes the captain her tea.
Lirra: Congratulations Captain, you and Mr. Riddle must be quite excited.
Lennox, Dr. Glover, Nurse Verrik and several others stand around the biobed, looking down at the Bolian patient.
Lennox: He's stable for now. I want all of you to go get some rest, the next shift will start to arrive soon.
Glover: Doctor, I think I should really stay.
Verrik: Me too-
Lennox: I am ordering you to leave, all of you. You have all worked at least two shifts straight. Medical professionals do not perform well when completly exhausted. Now leave before I have to call security.
No one makes another argument. This shift files out of sickbay, covered in blood and looking like exhausted, war torn soldiers while the next shift files in filled with dread at the mere sight of them.
Dr. Kerik approaches Lennox, who seems rather disturbed.
Kerik: Is everything alright, doctor?
Lennox: *sullenly* We may be in federation space, but i fear war has broken out on this ship.
Verrik walks through the ship and passes Rian and K'thra who are singing klingon war songs, walking arm in arm. He decides to go to Ten Forward to get a bite to eat and talk to Lirra. Its been forever since he has has some redbat and tuber root, and after the day's blood and gore, her face would be a welcome sight.

31st Dec 2007, 05:46 AM
Sara lifts her head away from the tea and gapes at the Anear in shock.
Capt. Patton: Wh-what?
Katian: *sighs* Lirra, please don't read the Bridge crew's minds...
Lirra: My apologies, Miss Ryoux, Captain... *smiles* But it would have been difficult to ignore.
Capt. Patton: It's all right. The rumor mill has already spread the news from Deck One to Thirty... Alex and I having a child and getting married...
Katian: *smiling brightly* Congratulations, then. To be so soon, it must have been love at first sight...
Capt. Patton: looking over the teacup* In a manner...
31st Dec 2007, 06:07 AM
Lirra: *knowingly* Oh... I understand.
Verrik walks in to ten forward, covered in the bolian's blood. Bolian blood, Like Andorian blood, is blue in color, so he looks rather much like he is bleeding profusely, there is even blue smeared on his face. Lirra stares at him in shock.
Lirra: Verrik! Are you alright?
Verrik: How did... Its not my blood... just a busy day in sickbay. But Lennox ran the entire shift crew off... Hello captain, Miss Ryoux.
K'thra and Rian are laughing over bloodwine when Rian smells something strange.
Rian: Do you smell that?
K'thra: Do I smell what?
Rian: It smells like... like vexium gas.
K'thra: In crew quarters?
Rian: K'thra! Get down!
Rian yells and jumps onto K'thra, throwing her to the floor. Just as she does this, an explosion ignites, taking with it, the entire section of the deck.
Riddle is standing near a console, analyzing his tricorder readings, when out of the corner of his eye, he notices the console screen going crazy.
Riddle: Oh my god, there's been an explosion on deck fifteen!
31st Dec 2007, 06:15 AM
A loud rumble and shockwave tear through the lounge, startling everyone.
Cmdr. Bijaj: *over comm* Red Alert! Duty Stations!
Capt. Patton: Dammit! *jumping up and running to the door; tapping combadge* Bijaj, what the hell was that?!
Cmdr. Bijaj: *over comm* Sir, an explosion on Deck Fifteen! I've sent Engineering and Rescue teams.
Capt. Patton: Good, I'm on my way!

31st Dec 2007, 06:23 AM
Name: Nira Lurat
Race/Homeworld: Cardassian, Earth
31st Dec 2007, 06:30 AM
Everyone cringes as the ship goes to red alert.
Lennox: *hits comm badge* Sickbay to bridge, report!
Bijaj: There has been an explosion on deck fifteen. Expect mass casualties.
Lennox: Understood, sickbay out- You heard the first officer, lets get this place in working order, move the injured and make room!
Verrik's expression turns to panic as he looks at Lirra.
Verrik: As the terran's say... When it rains, it pours. I will talk to you later.
Verrik jumps off his stool and follows the captain, assuming that they will need as much help as possible.
Riddle and Shashar make it to the scene of the explosion before the captain does. A Deltan tactical officer at the scene approaches them.
Elen: Sirs... Luckily this area of the ship was relatively empty at the time of the explosion. However, the number of casualties is currently at nine.
Shashar: How many fatalities?
Elen: Seven confirmed.
31st Dec 2007, 06:56 AM
Patton and Verrik ran down the cooridor until they came to the last undamaged cross section.
Capt. Patton: Riddle, Shashar, report!
The EMH came into Barclay's room and practially pulled him from the bed.
EMH: We need to move you, there's been an incident!
Lt. Barclay: W-what? What a-about Kezi?
EMH: We're moving her as well, now get going!
31st Dec 2007, 07:09 AM
Riddle: *looks up from his tricorder* Nine casualties so far, seven confirmed dead. The blast effected eight seperate living quarters, completly destroying two and severly damaging others. Luckily the quarters were mostly empty, or the casualties could have been tripled.
Kezi and Barclay are moved into a room, along with several other patients. Kezi is still unconscious, and in a biobed next to Reg's cot.
Meanwhile, Dr. Lennox, Kerik, Rii and others are prepared to deal with a mass casualty incident, when medics carry in two severely burned patients.
Lennox: *while treating K'thra* Are these the only patients?
Sorid: Aye sir, there were seven others, but they're being taken to the morgue.
For a moment, Kerik is shocked, though he would never admit it as he looks down at his patient. They are severely burned, charred and green muscle tissue exposed. The sees the IDIC necklace melted into their chest and recognizes it immediately. It's his daughter, Rian. The IDIC was given to her as a gift from her grandmother. The vulcan works hard, trying to prevent shock, dehydration. Trying desperately to open an airway despite the fact that her lungs are severely scorched.
He vital signs start to fail and his hands move at impossible speeds.
Kerik: Damn it! Do not die!
31st Dec 2007, 07:27 AM
Reg sat up from the cot and brushed a stray lock of raven hair from Kezi's face. She really was beautiful...
The EMH tries to pull Kerrik away from Rian's body.
EMH: There's nothing left to do, Doctor...
Dr. Kerik: No!
Kerik places his hand to his daughter's face and initiates one final meld...
Capt. Patton: All right, get the Engineering crews in here. Clean this mess up before the whole ship blows... Lieutenant Shashar, put any other investigations on hold and start work on this. I want to know who or what destroyed part of my ship!
The full force of her anger hits Patton and she slams a fist into the bulkhead.
Capt. Patton: *snarling* Goddammit!
31st Dec 2007, 07:40 AM
Riddle watches Patton's outburst and tries to do something, what, he isn't sure.
Lennox works to stabalize the Klingon and looks up at the EMH.
Lennox: Let him do it.
When the meld is complete, Rian opens her eyes one more time as she takes her last rattle of a breath. Kerik stares down at her burned and disfigured body, speechless he backs away, until the Klingon reaches out towards him. She is not as badly burned as Rian was, but still, her injuries could prove fatal.
K'thra: *struggling* Kerik... I was... with... Rian....
K'thra: She died... with honor.
Somehow, these words from the Klingon were comforting to the Doctor. A peace came over him and he went to cover his daughters body before the hologram could.
Lennox sedates the Klingon, who is stable for the time being.
Glover: Whats the prognosis for K'thra?
Lennox: She'll survive... but she has severe burns. Her arm and legs will likely have to be amputated, there covered with fourth degree burns. And even with prosthesis, due to the burn tissue, her mobility will be limited at best.
Glover: As a Klingon, I am sure that will be completely devastating.
Lennox: Definitely... most Klingons in this situation would chose to be killed.
31st Dec 2007, 07:48 AM
Patton closes her eyes and leans against the wall.
Capt. Patton: What, Alex?! What do you want me to do? Just shrug my shoulders and write it off as an accident? *glares* Seven people died! And I could have prevented it! Their lives were my responsibility! *pauses, takes a deep breath* Just clean it up... I have to go contact the familes... *storms away*
31st Dec 2007, 08:01 AM
Riddle: Sara, wait!
Riddle starts to run after her. He isn't sure what he expects, or is trying to say. He can't blame her for being upset, but... He stops halfway down the hall and watches her walk into a turbolift.
Verrik helps to pry the last body from its melted plastic desk. Every thing's horribly melted like some Salvador Dali painting. The corpse is charred beyond recognition, but by the bone structure it looks human. The smell is utterly putrid and he lays his antennae as far back as possible, wincing as the corpses hand breaks off when he tries to remove it from the desk.
He never imagined that this is what his first real starship mission would entail. As the medics start to wheel the corpse away at last, he starts to rub his eyes but immediately stops, realizing his hands were black, covered in blood, soot, and ashes.
Verrik: I need a shower and a strong drink.
Shashar: Don't we all?

Name and Rank: Crewman Nori Cat
Position: Medical Technician
A brief sentence or two describing your personality: Nori was born on Ishoka, where she lived with her parents, brother, and two sisters. She joined Starfleet when she was seventeen as an enlisted person. She is a proficient medic who loves her job, but has a tendency of being a bit crass and short tempered.
(OOC: I made up the name of the Species and Planet after I made a skin for an unknown trek species. A photo of one of these aliens from the actual Trek series can be seen here.)http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Image:Female_alien_with_pointed_eyebrows%2C_TSFT.jpg

Capt. Patton: Deck Seventeen...
Sara collaspes to the floor of the lift and wraps her arms around her knees. Tears fall onto her uniform and boots...
What the hell was going on? What did they do to deserve this?
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Kati left the now empty lounge to the seemingly never tiring Lirra to check on Lovecraft and her kittnes. Whatever animosity between cat and El-Aurian, Kati still held smoe affection for the tempermental feline.
Entering the bedroom, Kati sees the cats are missing from the makeshift nest. She starts to panic, but on a hunch checks under the bed. Lovecraft was curled up around the kittens in a protective manor, and gave a displeased meow at the intrusion.
Katian: *sighing* There you are...

((ooc: not to be a spoilsport or anything but the wounded officer was Bajoran not Bolian :D ))
Lt. Li is moaning about an isolinear rod and that he must warn the captain. The EHM takes this as a cue to sedate the Bajoran officer. Lt. Li is sent of into a deep artificial sleep. Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh is sitting at Lt. Kimble's bed her eyes are red and her antenna's twitch nervously.
Cmdr. Bijaj: *over the combadge* all senior officers report to the bridge
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: Get well my Imzadi *strokes his cheek and leaves.*
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL AND MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE:king:

As Raian made his way back to Strategic Ops, he felt the shockwave that had consumed the entire ship. He struggled to keep his balance before yelling into thin air.
Ensign Zan: Damnit, now what? Computer, what just happened?
Computer: There has been an explosion on Deck 15.
Ensign Zan: Casulalties?
Computer: There have been 8 confirmed fatalities. Number of live casulaties is unknown.
As Raian listened to the computer, he was starting to wish he had stayed on the Athena but he had a job to do. He made his way quickly to deck 15 to see if there was anything he could do.
31st Dec 2007, 11:47 PM
The following is a transcript of Chief Science Officer Riddle's log entry.
The days are growing darker and darker, and I am beginning to wonder if Milo Sharpp didn't have the right idea when he tried to kill himself. But the simple fact that someone stopped him in the midst of his suicide speaks volumes. What is this doom we have all been drawn to? We are barely out of spacedock, and the fatalities are through the roof. I heard an officer make a passing comment about this ship being the "Barge of the Dead".
On earth is is reffered to as Hell, Di Yu, Gehenna, Tatrarus, Naraka, and many other names. Grethor to the Klingons, Jaroka to the Bolians, Shak'ra Nork to the Andorians. Whatever name you wish to call it, it seems that we have found it aboard this ship
This mission that started off with jubilation and wide eyed officers fresh out of the academy, but as time stretches on we are all greeted with death and destruction. Our vulcan crew members are literally be driven mad, while there are mysterious explosions and ritualistic murders.
The recent explosion, killing eight crew members, has been ruled an accident. However, I am positive that it was intentional. Not all of the corpses have been identified yet, and until they are, there will be little purpose for further investigation. I suspect section 31, though knowing my luck, they will probably erase this log. Whatever they want, I wish they would take it already so we can get on with our lives. There has been enough suffering on this mission to last a lifetime.
Lieutenant Commander Riddle, out.
1st Jan 2008, 12:30 AM
Crewman Cat sits with her back to the wall in the corridor, a Trill engineer sits next to her and both stare down at their feet. A dull, mournful melancholy hangs in the air.
Zen: Find any more body parts.
Cat: No, find any evidence that this wasn't an accident?
Zen: None, but I really doubt that it was.
Cat: *sighs* me too.... I'm beginning to wish I hadn't taken those rescue and extraction courses.
Zen: Didn't expect to us it to dig out burnt corpses, huh?
Cat: You could say that, I feel like getting that damned android to come down here and do it himself.
Zen: I hear ya, but androids aren't known for being bothered by this sort of thing... This makes me miss cataloging equiptment.
The Andorian steps out of the shower and pulls on his flannel pants as something strikes him. He had seen a piece of metal catalogued as debris. At first glance, it looked like a simple piece of shrapnel from the computer consoles, but thinking back, it looked similar to something he had once seen on andoria. A device used for the remote ignition of gasses. Without a second thought, Verrik runs out the door wearing nothing but his pink, striped pajama pants. He has to find Lt. Cmdr. Shashar, or someone, and tell them before the evidence is mysteriously destroyed.
From his memory, Sharpp writes the verses of "The Raven" on the floor near his bed. He looks up and see's a strange being before him, they colapse on the floor near him and struggle to breathe.
Its the crewman, she too has severe burns is bleeding and limping. She came through the wall and is holding a rather mysterious device. Her face is burned and bloody, but he can tell that she has brown hair and green eyes.
The Crewman: Milo...
Sharpp: What do you want?
The Crewman: Milo, they know where I am... I want to turn myself in.
The Crewman: But only to you... They're after me and I need to talk before I die. I owe you an explaination.
Sharpp: You're damn right you do! You owe everyone on this ship an explaination!
The crewman: Please, I give myself up, call security.
Sharpp: This is a trick, isn't it?
The Crewman: I swear to you, it isn't.
Kezi wakes up with a splitting headache. She rolls over to see that she is in a back room in sickbay. There are at least five other patients there... Including Reg.
Kezi: *weakly* Reg... whats going on?
1st Jan 2008, 09:40 PM
Lt. Barclay: Kezi?
Reg stands back up and takes Kezi's hand.
Lt. Barclay: Y-you had me worried... You... *quietly* You w-were attacked. T-they hit you in the b-back of the head and t-took the vial...
He looks down, almost ashamed.
Lt. Barclay: I k-knew this would happen....
2nd Jan 2008, 12:45 AM
Kezi smiles as she looks up at Reg and smiles. She was glad he was there with her.
Kezi: *tired* Reg... It's not your fault. Honestly I'm glad its gone... and that we're alive. I just wish things would be peaceful and quiet... you know?
*Elsewhere in Sickbay*
Dr. Glover stands near a bank of monitors. When she notices something strange.
Glover: Hey, Rii- Get over here!
Rii: What is it?
Glover: There are two life signs coming from Sharpp's room, there shouldn't be anyone else there.
Rii and security officer Dammers walk into Sharpp's room. He is holding a woman in his arms. She is covered in blood and burns and is crying, or at least it sounds like it. Sharpp looks up as the two officers walk in.
Sharpp: This is the crewman, she came in... through the wall. She turned herself in.
2nd Jan 2008, 12:56 AM
Lt. Barclay: I know... *pauses* G-get some rest. I'll be right h-here...
Patton checks her reflection in the shiny metal surface of the 'lift before marching back out.
Capt. Patton: Commander, has the rest of the staff reported in?
Cmdr. Bijaj: Sir! Only sh'Raazh and Shashar, they are in the Observation Lounge. Kimble is still in Sickbay and Doctor Lennox informed us he will be late.
Capt. Patton: Thank you. When the rest arrive, report to the Lounge.
Cmdr. Bijaj: Aye, Sir!
2nd Jan 2008, 01:42 AM
Lennox tries to straighten his uniform a bit before leaving to meet with the senior staff.
Lennox: Dr. Sweeney, you are in command, contact me if-
[I]The androids statement is interrupted when Dr. Rii and Ensign Dammers emerge into sickbay with another burn victim, a wide eyed Lt. Sharpp following closely behind.
Lennox: Where did they come from...
Rii: Sharpp's room, we have reason to believe that this is "the crewman"
Lennox: How did... Never mind. put her in medical restraints, treat her injuries, and get security down here. I am already running late.
Sharpp: She'll be dead soon...Section 31 will kill her.
Dammers: Then we should question her as quickly as possible. *taps com badge* Dammers to T'lei, you are needed in sickbay, on the double.
Lennox and Riddle literally run into eachother in the corridor outside the bridge. The android is bloody and the Vulcan is filthy with charred ashes and remains of who knows what.
Lennox: Any luck with the excavation?
Riddle: Any luck with the survivors?
Lennox: No.. but I think we found the illustirous crewman, she was injured in the bombi- explosion.
Riddle: Heh, you were probably right with the first word.
The two men hang their heads as they make their way to the observation lounge and take their seats with the other officers.
2nd Jan 2008, 02:06 AM
Patton doesn't even look up from her PADDs as Riddle and Lennox enter. A moment later, Counselor D'ar and Bijaj enter, as well.
Cmdr. Bijaj: Captain! Woods and Kimble are in Sickbay. Do you want to call their replacements?
Capt. Patton: No, this will do. I'm sure by now you are all aware of the explosion on Deck Fifteen. *glances at Riddle* Some more than others... Doctor Lennox, do you have the offical casulty count?
2nd Jan 2008, 02:21 AM
Lennox looks up, above steepled fingers. His expression is as pleasent and calm as always, despite how horrendous the days events had been. He couldn't stop thinking about the families of the victims. But right now was not the time to get too involved with his work, so he answers the captain calmly and precisely.
Lennox: Yes captain. Officially there are nine dead and two surviving casualties in sickbay.
2nd Jan 2008, 02:34 AM
Capt. Patton: *nods* Very well. Lieutenant Shashar, damage report...
Lt. Cmdr. Shashar: According to Engineering, it'll be another week to repair the destroyed quarters, and that's with the team's on 'Base 194's help. Luckly, there was no outer hull breach.
Counselor D'ar: Captain, the majority of the crew are under a lot of stress. With all the recent events, I'm worried about their well being...
Capt. Patton: *stiffly* Suggestions?
Couselor D'ar: Open counseling sessions. I've spoken with the couselor on 194 and they're willing to lend extra hands is needed.
Capt. Patton: Good, set it up. Anything else to report?
2nd Jan 2008, 02:42 AM
Lennox: *clears his throat* Security has a suspect in the recent homicides apprehended in sickbay. She was a victim of the bombing...
Shashar: Is there a reason that I wasn't alerted of this?
Lennox: Honestly, I assumed that your personnel had contacted you already, Lt. Commander.
2nd Jan 2008, 02:53 AM
Capt. Patton: Lieutenant, get down to Sickbay and interview this suspect.
Lt. Cmdr. Shashar: Aye, Sir.
Capt. Patton: Bijaj, go with him. Head up the investigation and report back to me.
Cmdr. Bijaj: Aye, Captain. *snarling grin* It will be a pleasure to met this p'tak...
Capt. Patton: Fine. Dismissed.
2nd Jan 2008, 03:09 AM
Lennox: *nervously* Will there be anything else, sir?
T'lei and Dammers take The Crewman's labored statement. Sharpp stands in the backrgound, his presence was part of her conditions for speaking.
The Crewman: My name... my REAL name Is Betty Jane Earhart. Until about a week ago, I was a section 31 operative in the area of security and covert operations. When they started working with the ghost order... i defected and using my training, I started my life here, in the bowels of this ship.
T'lei: Did you kill Candice Wyatt?
The Crewman: Yes... I was trying to teach Mr. Sharpp a valuable lesson.
Milo stands in the corner, silent, everything had been made quite clear when they were in that room alone. He already knew enough and far too much.
Shashar and Bijaj enter sickbay and T'lei approaches her superiors.
T'lei: She confessed to the murder of Candice Wyatt and involvement in Section 31.
Shashar: Does she know anything about the explosion?
The Crewman: *overhearing them* Yes, the other operatives on this ship set it up to kill me. It was supposed to have appeared to be an accident, and no one would have found my remains. But it didn't work out, a lot of people died... and I wasn't one of them.
2nd Jan 2008, 03:14 AM
Capt. Patton: No, Doctor... You're all dismissed.
2nd Jan 2008, 03:25 AM
The Crewman: One operative is far more important than the lives of crew compliments of ten galaxy class Starships. I killed Wyatt not just to teach my dear estranged brother a lesson, but to put that pathetic excuse of a human being out of her misery. I know I caused everyone quite a bit of grief... some more than others. Its been a hell of a ride, this life, and I wouldn't have changed any of it. *gasps* And With that, I must depart.
Her eyes roll back into her head and she goes into a brief convulsion before her life signs begin to fail and drop off the monitors.
Shashar: Do something! What the hell happened?
Rii: *trying to coax her back to life* My guess would be that she activated a suicide device.
2nd Jan 2008, 04:11 AM
Capt. Patton: Computer, lock doors...
The computer gave its usual confirmation as Sara removed the outter tunic of her uniform. No more emergencies, no more distractions... She just wanted peace...
2nd Jan 2008, 04:50 AM
The Crewman's body has been taken to the morgue and T'lei attempts to question Sharpp.
T'lei: What did she say to you while you were alone?
Sharpp: *nervous* I.... I do not wish to disclose that at this time.
T'lei: Who did she refer to as her brother? Was that you?
Sharpp: Vulcans have a for understatement.
T'lei: You are avoiding the question.
Sharpp: She claimed to be my sister... *scowls* I place extreme emphasis on the word "claimed"
T'lei: I see.
Sharpp: That body isn't secure there.
T'lei: In the morgue?
Sharpp: Anywhere on this ship. Anywhere in the federation. No one is safe, not even the dead.
*Kati and Lennox's Quarters*
While he has a free moment, Lennox stops by his quarters to put on a new uniform.
Lennox: *to himself* Who knew this work would get so messy...
Riddle returns to the lab. He wants to talk to Sara, but she seems to need her space. Most of the scientists are scurrying like rats in wake of what has been said to be a bombing or an accident, depending on your source. He waves over Vixya and some medic he had never spoken to before.
Riddle: Alright guys, *pulls a device out of his pocket* Nurse Verrik brought this piece of debris from the bombing to Shashar. The security chief wrote it off as a computer component... But, the nurse showed it to me, and I find it pretty goddamn suspicious. I want you two to analyze it.
Nori But, I'm just a medic and I have no expertise in this
Vixya: Yeah, me neither, I'm a-
Riddle: Just do it, please, find out whatever you can on it. The composition, possible uses, origin, anything that can prove this device to be linked to an incendiary device. You two are inconspicuous enough to do this research.
Riddle: Look, this is important. We can't afford to play by the rules anymore. Security is refusing to look into this, but I refuse to give up that easily. We need to learn to protect against this in the future... we need control.
Vixya: Aye, sir.
2nd Jan 2008, 05:00 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Katian: *calling from the bedroom* Lennox, is that you love?
Bijaj crosses her arms over her chest and snorts at the irrational human.
Cmdr. Bijaj: What do you expect them to do? Follow her to the afterlife and kill her again?
2nd Jan 2008, 05:23 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Lennox: Yes, it is me...
Lennox walks into the bedroom where Kati is pearched on the bed.
Lennox: Is everything alright?
Milo leers at the Klingon.
Sharpp: I do not believe In an afterlife, I believe in science! You know, a decent percentage of humans have matured past the infancy of honor killings, magic spells, and sword wielding sky fairies!
T'lei: ...yet so few humans have come to embrace logic.
Sharpp: Don't talk down to me, Commander Bijaj! That rank on your collar means little more than the fact that you are skilled enough intimidate your way through the ranks. Well I'm not scared of you!
2nd Jan 2008, 05:36 AM
Bijaj snarls and leans in towards Sharpp.
Cmdr. Bijaj: Is that so, Human? That is only because we are on a Federation ship. If this were a Klingon Warbird, I would gut you where you stand... *leaning back* But the captain has warned me that such methods will not be tolierated here. Therefore, I will have to settle for having you arrested for insubordince to a superior officer.... *snarling grin* Lieutenant T'lei. Take him into custody...
Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Katian: Yes... But would you mind telling me what was going on? I was in Ten-Forward when the whole ship shuddered...
2nd Jan 2008, 05:59 AM
T'lei: Sir, I am afraid I can not. He has technically not done anything worthy of being arrested. To be technical, you are the one who made a death threat. However, given the fact that most members of your culture are prone to doing so, I shall chose to ignore it this time.
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Lennox sits on the edge of the bed, next to Kati and peers over to the empty quarter in the room where the kittens had been and wonders where they're hiding.
Lennox: There was a bombing on deck fifteen, ten people are dead.
2nd Jan 2008, 06:07 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Katian doesn't know what to say, so she only moves closer and takes Lennox's hand. Everything that has happened scared her...
Cmdr. Bijaj: Typical Vulcan. *snorts* I will just have to report you both.
Bijaj turns sharply and marches out of Sickbay.
2nd Jan 2008, 06:29 AM
T'lei raises a pointed eyebrow and Sharpp just rolls his eyes.
T'lei: There wasn't anything I could have legitimately arrested you for. If there was, believe me I would have.
Sharpp: Oh, I know. Thats how you Vulcans usually are, always on the straight and narrow!
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Lennox squeezes Kati's hand and closes his eyes. It is even difficult for an android to process everything that has been happening. There is a long silence that is interrupted by a mewping from under the bed.
Lennox: Did Lovecraft move the kittens under the bed?
2nd Jan 2008, 06:53 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Katian: Mmm... I suppose the blast frightened them, as well. I wasn't going to dare move them...
Katian looks over at her love and notices his uniform is bloody once more.
Katian: You should probably change before you head back to Sickbay...
2nd Jan 2008, 07:28 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Lennox: Hmm? Oh... yes, I was planning to.
Lennox gets up to where he laid his newly replicated uniform and picks it up.
Lennox: *smirks* Maybe I should have just become something less stressful, like a bomb technician, or a negotiator.
2nd Jan 2008, 07:52 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Kati returns the smirk and lies back on the bed.
Katian: If your tired of being a doctor, we could always use another waiter in Ten-Forward... You wouldn't forget any of the orders and could probably mix drinks faster than I can...
She watches Lennox change his tunic and sees the odd marking on his arm again.
Katian: Lennox... What does that mean?
2nd Jan 2008, 08:20 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Lennox looks down at his arm and sighs.
Lennox: It is an identification tattoo. All of the inmates at the Cardassian internment camp were given one. I was inmate number 86347219. They kept meticulous records of the prisoners. Who their families were, what expirements were performed on them, who they associated with, and inevitably, the details of their death.
2nd Jan 2008, 08:38 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Katian stands and walks towards Lennox. She slowly traces the outline of the Cardassain marking, as if trying to memorize it.
Katian: And you've kept it all this time?
2nd Jan 2008, 08:48 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Lennox: Yes. I had considered removing it. But, I decided it was too much a part of me. As painful as it is, I do not want to forget any of it, ever. Besides, sometimes I need something to remind why I must keep doing my work, *smiles* as tempting as it may be to become a waiter.
2nd Jan 2008, 08:51 AM
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh is going over the recent navigation and astronomical logs to see if they missed anything at all. Well besides what she reported earlier that there is a massive build up of ships at Promethea she can't find anything out of the ordinary at first. When she studies the readings they got from the Romulan ships she finds something that isn't supposed to be there, Federation technology signatures.
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: computer sends this readings to the captain's ready room on a secure channel security code sh'Raazh Theta Psi 79.
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh wonders how the Romulans got their hands on Federation technology, it wasn't unheard of that they stole technology but in recent years they had become their allies. Of course there were those rumors that Romulan factions had sold Federation technology to the Renarans which had led to a serious incidents between the Renaran empire and the Federation. But no of this claims had ever been more than just rumors, maybe they just stumbled on some proof. Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh just hopes nobody intercepts this message before it reaches the captain it seemed that there were spies everywhere.
2nd Jan 2008, 08:54 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Katian: That's something I can understand...
Katian sits back down and pulls up the hem of her skirt. On the outside of her lower thigh, there was a small scar, about seven centimeters long and slightly off colored.
Katian: I was attacked a few years ago... A man tried to rape me. He pulled a blade and held it to my throat and threatened that if I screamed he'd killed me... I fought back when he tried to use it to cut my clothes away. The knife became lodged in my leg...
2nd Jan 2008, 09:11 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Lennox stifles shock as he steps neared and examines the scar from a safe distance.
He looks Kati in the eyes with concern, though he doesn't want to seem too overbearing.
Lennox: Where was this? What happened?
Riddle walks onto the bridge as Lt. Cmdr. sh'Raazh is analyzing the navigational logs. He knows there has to be something going on, his senses are greatly heightened, and virtually everyone can be seen as a possible threat. Still, he managed to keep his facade of Vulcan coolness and logic, though human and romulan paranoia inside him is struggling to get out. But would an Andorian sell out the federation? "No" he tells himself "You're being paranoid." But then, its hard not to be when you spent the past ten hours digging out fragments of corpses from a bombing site.
Riddle: Anything to report, lieutenant commander?
2nd Jan 2008, 09:17 AM
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh is startled by Lt. cmdr. Riddle at first. She gives him an appraising look, she always implicitly trusted Vulcans. Also he was one of the survivors of the Renaran attack he could be helpful. She was aware of his reports about the Federation technology aboard the Renaran ships and the strange cloaking device they used. Also he was one of the closest confidants of the captain.
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: *whispering* I found something disturbing, look at the readings of the Romulan warbirds that attacked us, Federation signatures
2nd Jan 2008, 09:26 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Katian: I was visiting Altair IV and went for a walk in the city of Kelvan. It was getting close to twlight... He came out from an alleyway. The blade knife went against my windpipe where I couldn't breathe. He whispered that if I made a sound, he'd slit my throat and throw me into the river...
Katian looks away for a moment before continuing.
Katian: He... He began to kiss the back of my neck... The blade moved to my legs and... And I elbowed him in the gut. The knife jabed into my leg and he let me go. I managed to run out of the alley and to a group of tourists on the other side of the road. They never caught him...

*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Lennox: *quietly* I am so sorry Kati... Justice can be so illusive. They never catch those who truly deserve it.
Lennox hugs Kati. He doesn't know what exactly to say, save the text book responses to such a situation. But it does seem like the wicked are never truly punished for their sins. From Kati's assailant to Gul Daro. Countless members of a faceless evil.
Riddle: I'm not surprised... are you certain they are federation signatures?
2nd Jan 2008, 09:48 AM
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: Yes of course, this signature can only originate from our technology. Lt. cmdr. Riddle, you reported something similar almost a year ago after your imprisonment by the Renarans. They had what appeared Federation and Romulan technology, it was downplayed and suggested that they bought it on the black market. Admiral Gral made sure the investigation was put in the freezer *angry* As it turns out he betrayed us all. I send it the captain on a secure channel so she can decide what we do, but I think somebody is trying to silence us because of this.
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh is looking at the others on the bridge, was there a spy among them. After everything that happened paranoia runs deep, and almost everybody could be a potential traitor.
((ooc: she could be mistaken of course))

*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Kati leans into the hug for a mement brofer discretly wiping her eyes and smiling back up at Lennox.
Katian: Hey, you better get going... Sickbay is probably a mess, love...
Computer: *beep* Captain Patton, You Have A New Mesage On A Secure Channel.
Patton stepped out of the bathroom with wet hair and clothed in a robe.
Capt. Patton: Computer, display message...
2nd Jan 2008, 10:09 AM
Riddle: Yes... that all makes so much sense. Especially in wake of the bombing, which I have evidence was actually done by the federation to kill a defective operative- Sharpp's "crewman" was a delusion at all. He corpse is in the morgue right now, and she killed herself with a federation issue suicide device.... sh'Raazh, what do you suppose they are trying so desperately to cover up?
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Lennox: But I would rather stay here with you, my darling... *sighs* though you are correct. I left two Klingons and the EMH in sickbay unattended. I should really get back there while I still have a sickbay to get back to.
2nd Jan 2008, 10:18 AM
*Lennox and Katian's Quarters*
Kati Kisses Lennox on the cheek and playfully shoves him in the shoulder.
Katian: Then go... We always have later, love...
2nd Jan 2008, 10:21 AM
((ooc: Lt. Li is laying in sickbay with some of the answers: I'm thinking a conspiracy between Daro and high placed officials of the Federation aided by section 31 to sell technology to unfriendlies to start a new conflict, to strengthen certain factions within the Federation and weaken others, we could fill in the details as we go along.))
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: I have no idea, I always knew Admiral Gral was not to be trusted. He actually signed orders for the Intrepid's mission to Renaran space against the wishes of the council. As you probably know we didn't exactly see eye to eye. That operative, you talk about, didn't divulge any information about this?
*message to the captain*
Sensor indicate that there are vast amounts of neosorium composite aboard the Romulan war birds a technology used exclusively by the Federation.
2nd Jan 2008, 10:38 AM
Patton ran a hand throught her hair and rubbed the back of her neck. Neosorium composite was prohibited from disturbution and use with non-Federation organizations. If the Romulans had it, that went back to some inside alliance...
2nd Jan 2008, 10:47 AM
Lennox kisses Kati goodbye and heads back to sickbay. He runs into Crewman Cat on the way who looks paticularly troubled.
Lennox: Hello crewman, how are you.
Cat: Alright, all things considered.... Doctor?
Cat: I uh.. umm... uhh-
She wants to mention her assignment from Lt. Cmdr. Riddle, but decides against it. Even though the whole thing seemed rather illegal.
Cat: -I'll see you later, sir. *walks away*
Riddle: I am well aware of your oposition. Believe me, after thirteen days in a Renaran interrogation cell, I concur. The operative seemed to express that she was disgruntled with section 31 tactics, then again, she also brutally murdered a nurse for some strange "ethical lesson". But... if anyone would know anything about what she said, it would be Lt. Sharpp, he was alone with her for fifteen minutes in his room before anyone interrupted. Only he knows what she said.
2nd Jan 2008, 10:54 AM
Capt. Patton: *over comm* Patton to Riddle, I need to confer with you over an importaint matter... Are you able to meet with me now?
2nd Jan 2008, 11:10 AM
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: it all seems rather odd. What I don't understand is why the Romulans used a weapon that was so damaging to themselves and Vulcans. It almost looks like somebody wants to start a war between the Romulan empire and the Federation. *thinking out loud* You know some counsel members wanted to launch an attack on Romulus after what happened with the Enterprise but the Vulcans prevented it. I wonder if this has anything to do with it?
2nd Jan 2008, 11:21 AM
Riddle: Well I think whatever it is-
Capt. Patton: *over comm* Patton to Riddle, I need to confer with you over an importaint matter... Are you able to meet with me now?
Riddle: *over comm* Aye captain, I will be with you shortly *to sh'Raazh* I have to go... I advise you to speak to Sharpp about the Operative. I am also supposed to be meeting Crewman Niro Cat and Ensign Vixya who are studying the incendiary device from the deck 15 wreckage... They might also be of use to you. Try to keep this quiet sir, live long and prosper.
And with that, Riddle disappears off the bridge to meet with the captain.
2nd Jan 2008, 11:32 AM
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: Live long and prosper.
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh decides to take Lt. cmdr. Riddle's advice and talk to Lt. jg. Sharpp. But she wonders if she has the temperament to get this man to talk, he was mentally unstable and paranoid. Well here goes nothing.
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: Lt. jg. Sharpp please report to astrometics I need your expertise.
sh'Raazh is well aware that this doesn't really makes sense seeing Sharpp is a exo biologist but it was the only place she could think of without raising to many red flags.
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: Lt. Elen you have the bridge I'll be in astrometics if you need me.
2nd Jan 2008, 11:55 AM
Sharpp stands it astrometrics, trying desperately to look busy as he picks at the monitoring device on his neck. He's tempted to rip it off but knows this would only lead to further restrictions.
What could sh'Raazh want with him, of all people? He typically got along well with andorians. Though they tend to be agressive, they're also typically quite intelligent.
He watches as the Lt. Cmdr. walks into astrometrics, she always seems angry.
Sharpp: *quietly* How can I help you sir?
2nd Jan 2008, 12:03 PM
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh takes a strange device that emits a electro magnetic pulse so that any device that would monitor them are disabled.
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: I want to talk to you about the crewman. Please relax I will not harm you.
sh'Raazh tries to look calm but her frown and overtly aggressive mannerisms do not really look all that comforting. Her antenna's twitch and her fist are clenched she wonders if this was a smart move. Her mind wanders to Richie laying in sickbay hovering between life and death, if this is the fault of people within the Federation she wants their heads on a platter no matter what.
2nd Jan 2008, 12:13 PM
Sharpp looks the andorian up and down suspiciously. She tells him to relax, yet she seems increasingly nervous. He assumes that she either has some alterior motive, or the rumor that he is a sadistic murderer still hasn't gone away. He then decides that it is most likely a combination of the two. Still he has little to lose at this point. They are trying to monitor his thoughts, or so he believes.
Sharpp: I only know what she told me... Her name is Betty Jane Earhart. She is thirty seven years of age. She joined Starfleet at age seventeen as an enlisted security officer. At age twenty three, she went to work with section 31 as a covert operative on Promethea where she claims that she assisted in the assassinations of several Romulan dignitaries. She also alleged that the federation and enemies sources, namely the Ghost Order, have been exchanging tactical information, money, and goods.
2nd Jan 2008, 12:21 PM
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh takes a moment to process the information before asking another question.
sh'Raazh: Why would she tell you these things, why not to the captain. Did you know her?
sh'Raazh was aware of the rumors concerning Sharpp but she didn't fear this human, she could easily overtake him. Most human men were no match for her and he certainly didn't look like a treat to her. She punches her fist on a workstation. Her anger is rising, what the hell was the Ghost order, at every turn more questions pop up and people turn up death. She walks towards Sharpp but stops herself she doesn't want to frighten him so she walks away to the far corner of the room to give him his space.
2nd Jan 2008, 12:30 PM
He shifts where hes standing and is startled by the sudden noise of sh'Raazh hitting the counter. He wonders if he should answer the question honestly, and realizes that someone will pry the truth from him eventually.
Sharpp: She claimed to be my sister. My mother allegedly gave birth to her when she was fifteen and gave her up for adoption... So her story is that she was posted here, found out who i was, and felt she could trust me. Honestly, I won't believe it unless I can do the DNA testing myself... In any case, she says she defected from section 31.... But they're here right now, they're listening to everything. This isn't just me ranting like a lunatic, lieutenant commander, this is cold hard fact. We're all f----d!
2nd Jan 2008, 12:40 PM
sh'Raazh: calm down Sharpp, I believe you and I disabled every listening technology in this room including your collar. I learned a thing or two about covert operations during the occupation of Betazed *shudders a little* So she claimed she was your sister but that doesn't really explain why she would come to you. Could it be she was playing mind games with you, no offense but you are an easy target who would believe poor paranoid Sharpp
2nd Jan 2008, 12:48 PM
He shrugs off the irritation at her last comment. Of course she was playing mind games, thats what they always do!
Sharpp: No offense sir, but I thought that was a given. She wouldn't even let my kill myself in peace! But she only spoke to me. She likely knew of my history of schizophrenia an played on that- If she was a decent spy, she knew everything about everyone on this ship. But yes, she was particularly fixated on me. Why, exactly, after all these years... I have no idea.*dryly* I suppose maniacs are just drawn to me. *looks around* I wonder if they've collected her body yet. I'm not sure why they don't just blow up the ship, blame it on incompetent engineers and call it a day. They must enjoy tormenting us.
2nd Jan 2008, 12:57 PM
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh: because than they couldn't pin an explosion on the Romulans Lieutenant. I suspect that somebody is trying to start a full scale war between the Federation and the Romulan Empire. Look at the facts the Romulans have attacked us twice, we had a Romulan spy aboard and that strange telepathic being. We found Reman/Romulan and Cardassian technology designed to sabotage our ship. Only they didn't foresee we survive those attacks and that our sensors picked up Federation technology on the Romulan War Birds. So the question is what will there next move.
2nd Jan 2008, 01:03 PM
Sharpp: Well, the Romulans are a notoriously defensive culture. So the federation has to pose some threat to them before a conflict begins. Its easier for the federation to attack first, since they- we, act offensively. However, the attempts so far to initiate such a conflict fails. If I was Starfleet brass trying to start a war, I would convince the Romulans that we are an eminent threat. But what do I know? I'm just a mentally unstable lab rat. *smirks*
2nd Jan 2008, 01:17 PM
sh'Raazh: you're right we are missing something, but think about it after we were destroyed the Federation would have found evidence that the Romulans were behind it and there is also strong evidence that the Romulans were in league with the Renarans. So the Federation would have no choice but to respond, every deflection of the Romulans about their involvement would have made them look more guilty. But you are mistaken about the Federation we only attack when we are attacked first, it's almost unheard of that the Federation would undertake a preemptive strike and the Romulans know that. Besides to the Romulans the Federation is a constant threat, but they are to smart to start a full scale war against us but Romulans do attack for political gain form time to time remember the sneak attacks on Federation outposts in the past in the 23rd century.
2nd Jan 2008, 01:23 PM
Sharpp: Are you kidding? The federation is orchestrating this mess! All of this rings true of a preemptive strike to me! Forget everything they taught you in school about how great the federation is. Our government officials are just as greedy and bloodthirsty as anyone else's and our common men are just as vile, greedy, disgusting, and primitive. I would have defected a long time ago, but virtually no group of individuals in this universe is worth the matter they take up.
Sharpp becomes quiet, realizing that he is ranting again.
Sharpp: I am sorry commander... I am just having an increasingly difficult time seeing anything but rot and destruction. It seems our enemies are not as clear as they were when we were children.
2nd Jan 2008, 01:29 PM
sh'Raazh: Nothing is Lieutenant. But I doubt this is the Federation as a whole. There have always been corrupted individuals in big organizations, that doesn't mean everybody is bad. You know a lot of ideals got lost after the Dominion War, but I refuse to believe that the Federation is rotten to the core. But it would seem we have some rot spots and they are indeed planning a preemptive strike of sorts. I think it's best for now we keep our thoughts under wrap.
2nd Jan 2008, 01:39 PM
Sharpp: You're right... they're eavesdropping on them. Have you noticed how many telepaths there are on board? There were a lot on the Intrepid as well... I am telling you, it is a conspiracy to keep tabs on the thoughts of federation officers on sensitive missions. They implant nodes in our bodies while we are sleeping and monitor us, using the collected information for their covert operations. No one is safe.
2nd Jan 2008, 01:47 PM
sh'Raazh can't help but wonder how Lt. jg. Sharpp has made it through the academy, yes he was a brilliant man but he was extremely paranoid and clearly mentally ill. She gives him a weird sort of smile before reacting to his last comment trying to ease his mind, if such a thing was even possible.
sh'Raazh: Telepaths don't need nodes to read your mind Sharpp, besides most Vulcans, Aenars and Betazoids are peaceful and very ethical people, I would fear none telepaths more.
