View Full Version : How do ceilings work?

I'm having trouble figuring out just what the heck the 'ceiling' tiles are used for. As far as I can tell, they are just regular floor tiles. Is there something special I have to do to recolour my ceilings?

i don't think they do anything special, well at least i haven't seen them do anything, just another group of floor tiles to use on your roof tops

If you tilt the camera right up you can see the "ceiling" and change it with those tiles - not that normal ones don't work. Personally I don't see the point since the ceilings come in a nice white, however I've been getting the unfinished room moodlet if I don't paint them with one of the patterned 'ceiling tiles'. -__-

I've tried doing that, but it won't let me design the ceilings. It's very strange.

The main reason I'm trying to figure this out is because I've built a home with a curved roof, and it drives me crazy not seeing the corresponding curved ceiling from insdie. Plus, it's messing with the lighting settings - the game seems to think that the room is 'outside'.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to fix these issues?

Really? I've been building houses recently and have not used any ceiling tiles. My Sims don't seem to suffer from unfinished rooms.

I'll have to try them and see if their introduction changes anything. Yes, they're probably used in houses that came with Twinbrook, but I mean in houses I build.

I've checked the houses in Twinbrook; none of them use ceiling tiles at all. And there's nothing in EA support on them. I'm totally stumped.

Could you post the image of the house? As we all know, the tile can be edited in Built Mode or perhaps you can create your own by using TS3 Create A Pattern but until then, screenshots is required just to have a look of what had caused the problem. The only possible answer that I can think of, it might be due to EA bug.

Here you go; some pictures of the issue I'm talking about.
